Thank you soo much for sharing this lovely cabin with us for our 24th wedding anniversary. This is a peaceful, beautiful retreat which we enjoyed very much. My husband needed a stress relief and this truly ha been just that for him. Every time I couldn't find him I new to go right to the hot tub! Although it rained we still have enjoyed our time here just for the peace. We would love to return and have already talked about another trip here.
My wife and I have rented a number of cabins of this type in the region, but this one really stood out. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, and the property is very well maintained. It is very secluded and peaceful, and has everything you need for a peaceful getaway, including private river access with canoes and kayaks. Large enough for a family and cozy enough for a romantic getaway for a couple. Highly recommend.
My husband and I first stayed at the cabin in August. We had such a great time we made a second trip last week but this time brought some friends along ! With the leaves gone for the winter we were are to see the river right from the deck. We enjoyed smores by the fire pit and loved that the cabin was decorated for Christmas. I'm sure we'll be back again!
My husband and I enjoyed a quiet, relaxing two night stay at the cabin. We had no complaints and only wish we stayed longer! The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed to truly unplug-- from the hot tub to a leisurely paddle on the river-- we enjoyed every moment of our time in Shenandoah. I would highly recommend visiting in the fall- the leaves were gorgeous. :)
In case there are any former Girl Scouts out there, we modified the old Campfire song to "in a cabin by the woods, Golden Girls by the window stood....saw a rabbit hopping by..." The cabin is absolutely perfect in every way ..... very clean, beautiful and comfortable furnishings, and very private. We can't wait to return.
The cabin is very nice and just the right size for 2 couples. Any more and it would be tight. The only issue we had was the view to river is blocked in most cases, no real view from cabin. Its not like it shows in pictures. Also it is a VERY steep walk up/down to the river. It really didn't explain that and the pictures make it look much easier and closer. The deck, firepit, and grounds are beautiful...just like we had hoped for. It is very private and close to a beautiful winery and of course Skyline Drive. All in all very nice.
Cabin is nestled in the woods with a walking trail (walking sticks provided) leading to a private dock on the river. The cabin is cozy and nicely appointed, with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable living room furniture. The deck is perfect with half of it under roof so we were able to enjoy being outdoors even during the intermittent rain that we had during our stay. This is a property that we would consider renting again. Close to Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park. The owners were attentive and welcoming.
