About Jorge Martinez
Born in Havana-Cuba moving to the USA in 1969. Grew up mostly in the South Bay of Los Angeles County graduating from Mira Costa High School in 1975. Have lived in Manhattan Beach, Torrance, Long Beach, Bakersfield, and now Palm Springs. Hospitality has been my carrier since my first job just out of high school. Now enjoying life to the fullest and sharing a piece of Paradise with my guests.
Jorge Martinez purchased this Apartment in 1996
Why Jorge Martinez chose Warm Sands
Being in the Hospitality Industry all my life I long dreamed of owning my own business where I could provide deluxe, comfortable, and personable but yet private accommodations for travelers from all parts of the world. Since the late 1970’s I often vacationed in Palm Springs where I always enjoyed the warm sunny weather and relaxing resort style atmosphere this wonderful town has to offer. The Mid-Century Modern architecture, majestic mountains surrounding the valley and historic Hollywood movie star flair are but a few features that makes Palm Springs like no other location in the world. When it came time to choose the destination for my dream I considered other locations like Hawaii and Key West, but the charm and location of this amazing desert city far outweighed any others I could have chosen. So, in 1996 I made the best decision I ever made in my life and chose Palm Springs to live out my dream. Since then my experience here has surpass my expectations and every day that goes by I continue to find new exiting things to see and do, and what a great feeling it is to share that with my guests!
What makes this Apartment unique
The central location of this property is one of the unique benefits you will enjoy with the ability to walk downtown for shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and the active night life that makes Palm Springs one of the most desired vacation destinations in the world. Additional benefits include having your very own full kitchen, private patio with outdoor gas grill, relaxing by the heated pool and spa, and enjoying the majestic views of our beautiful mountains which include hiking trails, waterfalls, and local flora. Built in the late 1950’s a recent renovation has incorporated the Mid-Century Modern architecture that was original to the building with modern touches such as flat screen televisions, slate tile walk-in showers with glass panel, rain shower head, glass vessel sinks and black marble counter tops resulting in a mix between history and today’s comfort necessities. Another very unique feature of this property is the original retro kitchen which is a replica of the kitchen used in Holly Golightly’s (Audrey Hepburn) apartment in the classic film Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The best unique benefit I can personally offer you is the most honest, personable, and friendly service in the Industry while respecting your privacy. I personally handle all aspects of my vacation rental apartments and look forward to being of service.

Wonderful Palm Springs getaway!
This was our first time visiting Palm Springs and this was property was perfect! It was conveniently located to everything (i.e., nightlife, restaurants, shopping and grocery store). Jorge was a wonderful and welcoming host. He was a great resource, providing us with delicious restaurant recommendations in Palm Springs. Thank you so much!
Dania and friends were a joy to host. They were very friendly and took good care of the property. I appreciate hearing they enjoyed the restaurant recommendations I made and hope to hear from them again.
Clean, cute, close to town.
Stayed here with family. Very cute condo, nice decor. Pool area was small and quiet. Onsite owner was helpful and friendly. Close enough to town to walk 20 mins each way. Would stay here again!
Being onsite helps me tend to my guest needs in a prompt manner. Our location so close to downtown is one of the most appreciated features of our property.
Jorge's a Great Guy!
We were a group of four people - two couples - spending a few days in Palm Springs while on a road trip. Upon arrival, Jorge met us with a smile, a tour of our rental, all the information we could possibly need - and he welcomed us to contact him with any questions, concerns or help we may need. He lives in one of the units and makes himself available.
The unit we rented was clean and well laid out. We made use of the kitchen for our breakfast needs and snacks/refreshments in the evening. The coffee maker and toaster came in handy. We did not take advantage of the outdoor grill or kitchen stove. The two bedrooms were adequate, one with a king bed and one with a queen. There were two bathrooms, one significantly larger than the other. The little patio off the smaller bedroom was useful for early morning reading or private phone calls.
All in all, the unit was very basic. I would say the biggest concern for all four of us was the living area furniture. Again, everything is basic, and in this case, comfort in the furniture was lacking. There was little comfortable seating for four night owls like us who wanted to hang out together in the living room area before bed. A couple of us brought chairs in from the patio for greater comfort - that helped. Since the living room is an important area in a rental like this, for obvious reasons - a furniture upgrade would be awesome. THAT would make a big difference.
Also, as may be stated in the profile, the pool area is shared by all of the units.
Mark and Mary's group was a great group to host taking good care of the property and observing all house rules. I appreciate them taking the time to comment on their visit and suggestions on where comfort improvements could be made.
Wonderful stay! Highly recommend!!
This house was perfect for four adults to enjoy all things Palm Springs. The location is great and Jorge was a delightful host.
Kimberly and her group were a great bunch to host. They took good care of the property and respected all house rules.
High hopes but seriously disappointed.
We read great reviews, the photos were inviting, however we were very disappointed with the space, and we were committed to renting for over a month! The rental did not include what was listed on this website. We have been renting places every fall in Palm Springs for years and this was our first experience like this. Were other reviewers staying at the same place as us...???
Heated pool and hot tub.
Walking distance to town.
Manager available on site and did try to accommodate our requests.
Not charming nor modern, more tired and felt like a dormitory or hostel.
Furniture was cheap, old, uncomfortable.
Beds were uncomfortable and sunken in, the added mattress toppers did not help.
Zero sound proofing between rooms and units.
Paint peeling and chipping in places, often had a mildewy or musty smell.
Had to request small kitchen appliances.
Poorly equipped kitchen, needed to buy better pots/pants, extra dishes, and some utensils.
TVs were so small with virtually no channels, may as well not have the TVs at all.
Horrible wifi connectivity issues.
Early morning neighbouring construction noise (which can't be helped).
There were 2 patios off the unit but they had views of a fence/shed.
A motel would have had better value
If you are a potential guest reading this I ask you to please read my other reviews so you can see what my other guests have experienced staying in this property for the past twelve years. I was happy to see this review noted that I live on the premises in a separate unit and that I was responsive to their requests, which is why I was surprised to read this review as I provided these guests with everything they asked for. I guess there is a reason for the saying “You can’t please all of the people all of the time”. In all of my years in the hospitality industry I have always given over 100% to ensure my guests are satisfied and I promise to continue to do so for the rest of my life. I ask that you do not let the opinion of an unreasonable reviewer influence the opportunity for you to come and experience what all my other guests already know. Thanks for listening!
Good location Good Value
We stayed for 3 nights with adult children. The beds are comfortable. Bathrooms have been updated. It's very quiet. The pool is small but very nice. It's a 20 minute walk to "the action". Jorge is helpful and on the premises.
Claire and family were great guests, very self sufficient and respecting all house rules.
Your new vacation home is located near Downtown in the none windy South Area of Palm Springs, California. Made famous in the mid 1900's by Hollywood Movies Stars, Palm Springs was the place Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, and Bob Hope got away to play golf and drink martinis by the pool. Located less than 100 miles (2 hour drive) from Los Angeles, Palm Springs is still home to many stars in the entertainment industry. Local Movie Star Tours will show you where they live. Walk to downtown from your apartment and stroll through the sidewalks gazing at the Walk of Stars to find your favorite idol or shop at the many stores located in the Downtown Village. The mountain views are amazing. Ascend 2.5 miles to a pristine wilderness aboard the World's Largest Rotating Tram Cars and hike for hours amongst nature or enjoy the many other amenities available at the top. Golf, hiking, shopping, and a lively nightlife are but a few of the things to do here.
