Overview

Dowagiac Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

WE NOW HAVE WIFI AND AIR CONDITIONING!!!

This cottage is ideal for a quiet getaway as it can be rented as one floor for small parties or both upstairs and downstairs for larger parties.

Experience the “Magic” of a summer on Magician Lake, a 600 acre lake with 22 miles of shoreline in the heart of Michigan’s fruit belt. Enjoy great swimming with a nice sandy bottom next to the pier, boating, water skiing, tubing, pontooning, jet ski riding, and all around fun on the water. There is great fishing for bass, walleye, and northern pike, especially in the Spring and Fall, so you can treat Dad to a 'Fishing Father's Day' weekend or a Labor Day fishing weekend. Bring your own boat/pontoon and tie up at our pier. If you don’t have a boat, no problem- a rowboat, canoe, and paddle boat are available. There are also marinas nearby for renting speed boats, jet skis, and pontoon boats.

And for those die-hard 'fighting Irish' fans looking for weekend accommodations, we are only 30 minutes north of Notre Dame!!!!!

Our season doesn't end at Labor Day. The brisk air and Fall colors are just the prescription for “recharging your batteries." Let us hear from you!

Please note: updated check-in time is 3:00 pm on Saturday and check-out time is 11:00 am the following Saturday. (What is listed under 'Rates' for check-in/check-out times is incorrect).

Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was everything we expected. The owner met us at the property and showed us around. His hospitality was above and beyond for anything we needed. We were able to have plenty of bonfires in the gorgeous yard with a view of the lake. Two piers to easily dock a boat if renting. The owners also left available a paddle boat, row boat or canoe that we used plenty! The house was very clean and easily slept our group of 6. I would recommend this property to everybody and hopefully return again next summer.

Excellent Family Get Away

  • 5 of 5

This vacation cottage was great for the whole family. The owners are extremely nice and were very helpful throughout our whole stay. The water accessibility was the highlight of our trip, we were rarely inside. Tubing, skiing, fishing and other water activities kept us busy the entire time. The rather large yard was a great place to relax during the day and sit around a bonfire at night. My family and I loved staying here and are planning to return again next summer. With the bedrooms, pull-out couches and cots, this property slept our family of 6 comfortably and could have easily slept 2 additional people. I would recommend this cottage to any small family looking for a simple yet fun vacation for everyone to enjoy.

Magician Lake Cottage

  • 4 of 5

This was a very nice place to stay when you have a family with older children staying too. We had the kids downstairs and parents upstairs. We had such a wonderful vacation, very laid-back atmosphere. The owners allow you to use the dock and provide a paddle boat and canoes if you are interested. They also allowed us to take our dogs with on vacation. They are very knowledgable with the history of Magician Lake as their family has been in the area for 150 years!

Great Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The listing description was accurate including the photos. The cottage and property were clean and tidy. The owners were very helpful and available when we had questions. I would definitely recommend this property to small families and think it would be great fun to have a few families vacation together using all three rentals. The lake was perfect for tubing and water skiing, fishing, swimming, row boating and paddle boating. We enjoyed having a campfire every night and grilling for many of our meals. The only reason we didn't rent again this year was because someone else got to our week first! Perfect getaway!

best vaction get away ever!

  • 5 of 5

The lake front cottoge was a wonderful vacation get away. The water was comfortably warm every day! Tubbing, skiing, wake boarding, and several more things to do behind a boat is always FUN!!!!!! It's perfect for people of all ages! The morning is a great time for relaxing and enjoying the breeze!I I had a great time playing tag and badmitten with my cousins. A good way to spend together time is a late night campfire. Going with my family including an older sister and brother, grand parents, parents, aunts an uncles, and cousins was an awesome time! I can honestly say that I will never forget that vacation, and it was probably my favorite!!!!!!

convenient, comfortable, amazing view, amazing owners

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends and I just returned from a weekend in which we rented this property as well as a neighboring house. The owner, Clark, met us on the street and escorted us into property, which has 2 apartments (perfect for 2 groups of people or 2 families to stay together, yet semi-seperate!). We first had our breath taken away from the beautiful lake view seen through the large windows - and then had our breath taken away a 2nd time by the amazing lake breeze which flows constantly through both levels of the house. The owners, who couldn't have been more friendly and accomodating, had thought of everything we might need and were always willing to get us anything else. Both levels of the house were cozy, comfortable, and clean. We couldn't have asked for anything more and all of us can't wait to come back and bring our individual families. We are so glad to have found this place.
