Amazing Sunsets

  • 5 of 5

We spent a glorious week at the Sunset Castle. Great sunsets every night while watching the dolphins. Eleven of us comfortably stayed. Loved the open foyer area, you can be sitting upstairs and talk to someone downstairs! Nice kitchen/dining area large enough for all of us. The private beach is nice and quiet. The house is away from the busy parts of the area but close enough so you can quickly and easily get to activities. We were easily able to enjoy busy activities and quiet/relaxation all in the same week. The last night of our stay just topped it all off with a fire works display on the water! Amazing.

Wonderful week at Sunset Castle!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful week. We were very comfortable in this spacious house which is fully equipped. It’s in a lovely location and directly across from the bay beach. The beach is nice and quiet and away from the crowds at the ocean. The views and sunsets are stunning. We are thankful to Carol for sharing her house with us.

Sunset Castle Rules! A MUST stay!

  • 5 of 5

So how do I condense all that can be said about the Sunset Castle into a reasonably sized review? Ok I probably won't.. But here goes a try

It is airy and spacious and has that over all beach house feel. As you enter to your left you are greeted with the largest comfiest sectional I've ever seen. It was so cool because our entire group was able to all fit on the sectional to watch our movies and hang out with space in between us each. It was the perfect coziest setup. Off to your right you have a delightful spacious open kitchen plan with a table strategically placed by the windows where you can enjoy the ocean breeze accompanied by the natural sound affects of the waves crashing as you eat breakfast in the morning. You don't get more relaxing than this! You never had to go outside to enjoy the feel of the beach or the beautiful view, although we did. However the kitchen was so comfortable and relaxing we did find ourselves in there for hours each morning eating breakfast and chatting it up before our day's events.

Of course it is well equipped with everything you need to cook and do all your kitchen things.

Although we went out and did a variety of things throughout our stay, we always found ourselves gravitating back to the house just to enjoy it's comforts, and the sunset..

OH THAT SUNSET! It was worth every penny you will spend on this house!!! The pictures would never be able to capture the awe inspiring sight we got to experience every evening! I do not have the winsome words necessary to describe this view but rest assured you will not be disappointed! The house is practically seated on the beach, how awesome it was to sit on the patio and ingest this amazing view along with a glass of wine as the ocean breeze caresses your skin. It's a therapeutic experience!

The decor. Ok so some of the reviews referred to it as outdated. I'll admit I was a tad concerned. Upon arriving however I was quickly able to categorize this under the quintessential beach house decor and found that what some referred to as outdated I was able to see as charming and whimsical. Besides the downstairs area is more modern it's only the upstairs that is a tad more..Well like I said whimsical . Who doesn't love a good mermaid every now and again? Anyhow this place truly was charming, lovely and had a great feel and you would truly be missing out if you let the decor stand in your way of all that this place has to offer.

The ambiance and feel that you get from the bea

Very nice, quiet home

  • 4 of 5

The home is directly across the street from the beach. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets and very comfortable accommodations. The 4 bedrooms were spacious and the 8 of us could enjoy privacy or group activities as we wished. The home was well maintained and clean. The only thing that was not perfect is that the beach was not a good swimming beach - there was a lot of sea debris on the shore and my grandson was bitten by a jelly fish in the water. By traveling a few minutes to the Atlantic beaches we were able to enjoy swimming. We went home in the evening to watch the beautiful sunsets.

RPE BECKER

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week and loved it! There was plenty of room for our 'family meet-up' and all of the amenities were a big bonus. The view was spectacular and the sunsets gorgeous! Only a short five minute drive to stores and several eating establishments, for the times that we didn't feel like cooking (a FAVE was Uncle Bills Pancake House!) This house is away from the hussle & bussle usually associated with beach towns. We visited Wild Wood Boardwalk, Cape May Light House, even went to a movie~~all of these within a 15-20 minute drive. We even visited the Zoo (FREE) which was super easy to get to. AND big plus (coming from VA)...the Lewes-Cape May Ferry landing dock is a scant 5 minutes away!

Best Vacation Ever!!!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Carol for sharing your lovely home with us! Comfortable, well equipped, and an amazing location overlooking the Delaware Bay beaches. Plenty of room for family and friends without being cramped. The sunsets were incredible! We loved being able to walk across the street to the quiet, un-crowded beach (almost like having your own private beach!) and enjoyed many dinners outdoors on the patio. We'll be back!
