Fort Bragg House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-8)

This home is conveniently located between Fort Bragg (5 minutes away) and the Village of Mendocino (10 minutes away). Located 1/4 mile from the beach, the home is also close to state parks (Jug Handle, Russian Gulch, Redwood Forest, Van Damm and McKerricher) which are especially great for hiking, biking and beach access.

The home is very private, set on two wooded acres. A grassy yard opens into a meadow surrounded by redwoods, pine and fir. The house features cathedral ceilings and warm wood floors throughout, a completely equipped kitchen, cable TV/VCR, CD player, telephone, toasty wood-stove with a glass window for dinners in firelight, and a large back&side deck with outdoor dining and a barbecue for grilling.

This Mendocino house has a king, a queen, and two trundle beds (each of these beds can sleep two singles or make into queen size beds). All firewood, linens, kitchen supplies, and bedding are provided for your convenience as well as a washer and dryer. Portable crib is available.

Thank you for a lovely first visit to The Coast House. Everthing needed was amply provided and we appreciated how CLEAN everything was. The position of the house on the propeerty let us feel secluded and the view from all the many windows was peaceful. A big bonus was seeing several varied trush up close - what a beautiful bird. We enjoyed the rain the sunshine and finally fresh crab. Just delighful !!

LOVED this property!!

  • 5 of 5

After a long search for lodging, we settled on this house and were most certainly pleased with our find!! We looked over the pictures and knew it was billed as "remote" and "rustic".. but for 3 "City Girls" we found it to be just lovely and not too remote that we felt removed from civilization. The house is spacious and well laid out. At first glance, the kitchen may seem small, but if it lacks in space - it certainly makes up in charm and functionality! It was well stocked and very well thought out. The deck and surrounding back yard area proved to be beautiful, but the meadow further back was just a treasure!! We spent time in the late afternoon enjoying the noise of the beach and the beautiful nature-filled views, only to wish we had MORE time to relax there! We all agreed that we would rent this property again in a second!! The house is located right in the middle of Fort Bragg and Mendocino, which makes exploring and shopping a breeze. We found the owners very easy to work with and accommodating of our needs. Couldn't have been happier with our stay!!

Nice 2 bedroom close to everything

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with this 2 bedroom home between Mendocino and Fort Bragg. The open concept living room/dining room/kitchen worked out nicely. There is a great wood burning stove and plenty of nice dry split wood. Be careful - its easy to get it too warm. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom was large and clean. The house did need a good deep cleaning to get rid of spider webs and other things but the owner responded immediately to my note about this and had it deep cleaned right after we left. I should note that the house was clean in all the normal cleaning places - definitely not a problem. It was great being so close to the state parks with the beautiful coast line. Also, it was just a short hop into Fort Bragg for shopping and about 6 miles to Mendocino for tourist stuff. The owners were very friendly and helpful and responded quickly to our suggestions.

Comfortable Seclusion

  • 5 of 5

This was a very enjoyable, relaxing stay for our family of 4. The house was clean, roomy, and had a secluded cabin feel which we enjoyed. The distant view of the ocean can be enjoyed from the wraparound deck or from the living room window, perfect for watching the sunset.

The kitchen had everything one might need for cooking, baking, etc.

The washer & dryer were convenient, especially with 2 children, allowing us to pack less.

The beautiful gardens add ed a private backdrop to breakfasts on the rear deck, where we saw a family of foxes scurrying across the property.

It would be difficult to find a rental similar in size, location & convenience for the price.

We will be back.

A great deal on the coast!

  • 5 of 5

The photos of this place just don't do it justice. It is a lovely home with lots of space around the property, decks, and distant ocean view. We walked to the beach from the house and saw seals swimming in the waves. The beds were very comfortable and the house very clean.

Great Location and Very Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying at the Coast house and it was even better than our first visit. The house is very comfortable and comes with all of the necessities. I appreciated how clean the house was and livable with a small child. There were plenty of linens, pots and pans, and even toys and games.

The new windows and sliders were a nice surprise. There were other updates made to the home, but my personal favorite change was the orientation of the bed in the second bedroom. On our first visit, our daughter was up at dawn every day as the sun was streaming in from a very high window directly onto the bed. The bed has been moved to a different wall and there were no dawn waking's!

We had a rather narrow window of time we could book for a vacation and the owner was very accommodating and flexible. We very much appreciated her working within our schedule.

The house's location made it easy for us to travel both north and south for a wide variety of activities:

sea kayaking off of Van Damme State Beach

horseback riding

beach combing

canoeing on Big River

glass blowing

The entire family had a great time and we plan to return for another visit!
