What a beautiful property! Not only do you have 70 acres to roam around on but it backs up to the national forest. We walked every day and never left the property. The cabin is bright and cozy with a beautiful fireplace and all the amenities of home. Loved sitting on the deck looking at the stars. We fell in love with the cabin. It also has fantastic views. The only con was we had to leave! Thank you, Ken, for allowing us to stay on your beautiful property, we hope to go back one day soon.
Our family of six vacationed for a week experiencing our first white Christmas. It was a snowy wonderland we enjoyed while staying in the cozy, warm, accommodating cabin. Fabulous secluded location yet just a few minutes from town. Very clean, affordable and fun! Owner was readily accessibly via phone. All the comforts of home and then some!
This was our first get away without our children, as we are now "empty-nesters"! I doubt we can top this vacation, so we are already planning revisits annually! From the ease of the welcome letter, the proximity of town, to being "off-the grid", this cabin has it all! We asked Ken about grocery shopping before we got there and he was so helpful. We shopped at the City Market which had Anything and Everything you could need, with Fabulous baked goods and great prices. There was a liquor store right next door to this market, also, with beer, wine, etc. One Stop before arriving at the Cabin, where our breath was taken by the view of the Continental Divide! We arrived on Saturday and didn't even consider visiting Pagosa Springs until Monday afternoon! We hiked this property for HOURS ! Golden Eagles, Elk, Mule Deer, Chipmunks, various birds and Rabbits were the only living things we saw during our stay at the Cabin. What a perfect way for us to reconnect and enjoy ourselves as a Couple again. The town of Pagosa Springs was only a 25 minute drive and the town was Lovely! This town spends money on this town! They have recently finished a River Walk which is Completely Handicapped Accessible and it is clear that this is Only part of the Vision this town has, and the phases to follow. Spending time at The Springs Resort was Luxurious, yet, laid back! These are Hot Springs, too hot?, follow the steps down to the San Juan River's edge, and cool off! What a fantastic find! 300+ days of sunshine annually, crisp nights, No Light pollution, spectacular views and starry nights. Now for the cabin itself. The floor plan was perfect. There was soap at every sink upon our arrival, toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, freshly laundered towels and sheets, PERFECT! Never will we stay where we have to bring linens again! This Cabin is so Cozy, yet extremely functional and "spacious" with a really great flow. Views from Every window, a stone fireplace (that a mason took a great deal of pride in, btw) with a gorgeous log mantel and All of the firewood you could possibly need. The furniture befitting a cabin, very comfortable and well maintained. It was EXACTLY what the pictures promised it to be!!! Oh, My hubby and I being cooks, appreciated Ken letting us know that there were staples in the cabinets that we were welcome to use, as well as condiments in the fridge. Why spend money on salt, pepper, garlic salt, ketchup, etc., if you don't have to!Really, Just A PERFECT PLACE!
What a great place! We really enjoyed our stay, however there were a couple of items that needed serious attention. The couple who rented the cabin with us had a family emergency and the owner worked with us so we could reschedule our stay. The weather was perfect Indian Summer and the fall colors were spectacular. We hope to visit again someday.
This property is perfect for a getaway. We enjoyed the setting and the amazing views of the peaks to the north and the sunsets. The house was very comfortable and there were good instructions and a local contact who was available to help. We found the grill propane empty and they were ready to replace it that day. Highly recommend if you want to be out of town and enjoy the quiet.
This was our first stay in this cabin and we loved it. It is very well set up , beautifully decorated, covered porch on 3 sides. The cabin feels much larger than it looks in the pics, the master bath was huge! The open kitchen design helped everything flow very well and you could watch the hummingbirds as you clean up.We came to day hike mostly, and were not disappointed, we did V-Rock to the summit, which you can see from the porch. DirectTV on a nice new flatscreen for evenings. The internet worked fine for me and 3 kids with various devices and the huge table set up an awesome couple of meals and breakfasts. Just fabulous. Our only downside on the trip was the groceries in Pagosa Springs. We only found an old store in town without much selection. Maybe someone else knows a better place to stock up? We also wish we had hiked more off of the back of the property, again the pictures do not do it justice, stunning valley way down below with a winding creek, it was beautiful. We are working on a plan to try a winter visit. Thank you Ken for a cozy well thought out cabin.
