|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
The Building is reminiscent of eighteenth-century New Orleans architecture, and was built sometime before 1883. The apartment is on the second story and is always being updated with new and exciting improvements. The interior has been recently upgraded with new carpeting, doors, and windows throughout. The 'Kage House' is located at 120 Broadway in the downtown historical district and is less than a minutes walk to Main Street and less than a 10 minutes walk to the 'Isle of Capri Casino'. On Main Street you will find many fine shops and restaurants, or just enjoy the scenic area as you walkabout. This is by far one of the best places in Cape to stay!!
The bedroom is furnished with a king size bed and flat screen tv. The living room is furnished with a 'Lazy Boy' queen size sleeper sofa with a built-in inflatable air mattress and a 45' flat screen tv. The apartment is fully equiped. Internet/wifi usage, as well as cable with several movie channels are included in the price of your stay.
While you are staying at the 'Kage House', be sure to visit 'Sweet Designs Boutique' located in the lower level where you will find many unique items!!
Enjoy relaxing outside on the deck with a view of the Mississippi River and downtown area.
You will most certainly enjoy your stay here in comfort and with a bit of history to boot.
We loved the Kage House. It was perfect. Being in walking distance to the shops and restaurants downtown was a plus with views of the river. It was cozy and intimate. Perfect couples get away. Keith was very hospitable in giving us his personal information just in case we needed anything. But, we did not thankfully.
So if you are looking for a weekend getaway, the Kage House is the place to stay in Cape Girardeau.
Our stay at the house was very relaxing. Keith was super helpful with my questions. I would stay here again.
Great place., Well maintained and managed. Interior was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Great for a romantic get away. Location makes everything easily accessible and the downtown area is within walking distance even in chilly weather. Looking forward to our next visit when we can utilize the deck over looking the river.
The location was perfect and gave me and my bridesmaids a wonderful place to get ready. It also made for great pictures. My new husband and I enjoyed the apartment for the next two nights and loved walking around downtown. We woke up early on the day of departure to watch the sunrise over the river, it was beautiful. I may have to find an excuse to stay here again I loved it!
The Kage House (informed by locals that it is pronounced “Kay-Ghee”) is nicely furnished and quite comfortable. It has a back-side patio from which you can watch the sun rise over the seemingly timeless Mississippi River or its meandering barge traffic during the day. The apartment is located in old town where there are some good, locally-owned restaurants and bars within easy walking distance and an intriguing coffee/wine shop called “Cup and Cork” where college students have study groups among the locals. It is a comfortable, convenient place to stay for a visit to a history-minded, old port town that is remaking itself into a vibrant college town. -Steve S.
One of the nicest places we have stayed. Convenient to everything downtown, awesome view of the river, just about everything you need is provided. We can't wait for our next visit!
