Family and I spent Spring Break in NYC and were lucky enough to stumble upon this rental in Midtown at a more than reasonable rate. It's a true New York experience without the hassles.
We enjoyed having 3 bedrooms and a small kitchen after a long day of site seeing. The seating / dining area was comfortable. Overall the whole place was comfortable and convenient.
Owner was very friendly and responsive. Bonus that he's close by as well. Speaking of close by, there are tons of restaurants nearby as well as the Amish Market grocery.
The place is really close by to the theatre district and restaurant row. The weather in New York was pretty great the week we were there, so we ended up walking pretty much everywhere we needed to go in Midtown. We did make use of Metro cards to get to the Upper Westside and Central Park museums or the Statue of Liberty but most times ended up walking.
Would definitely stay there again when I come back to New York.
We recently stayed in this apartment and had a very average experience. Firstly, our apartment was quite different to that pictured on the website - the furnishings were completely different and it was not decorated as nicely. Also, there was no tv in the bedrooms just one in the lounge. We were told by the owners that it was the same apartment but he had redecorated however this apartment was on the first floor not the third as had been described in earlier reviews. We also had mice during our stay which was not part if the NY experience that we were after! The door lock was not great as he had lost one of the keys for the deadlocks (although we had no problems during our stay). The check in was done very hastily by a friend of the owner who could not answer our questions so all in all a disappointing start. The apartment itself is located very centrally but on a very noisy avenue (leads to Lincoln tunnel so mad busy from around 4pm onwards. It was a shame we were not given the same apartment as advertised as I had put a lot of time and effort into the search so confirm what apartment you are getting before booking!
This apartment was exactly as pictured. The beds were super comfortable and the place was really spacious. You must be able to manage a few flights of stairs and the window air conditioners were a little noisy as those usually are. But they kept the place comfortable. Cesar was very helpful, no problem contacting him there. We were 5 adults and a child and it was perfect, in a great neighbourhood.
I recently stayed at this property with my Mum, sister and 18 month old son for a week. Carlos was the ultimate host assisting us with our ample luggage up and down the stairs without a single complaint (in fact he insisted on helping and came to the apartment especially when we were departing to help). No question was too much trouble and he gave us some great tips on restaurants etc.
The apartment location is excellent - walking distance to Times Square, Central Park, 5th Avenue, Penn Station with subway stations close by .
We were also very happy with the apartment itself - the bedrooms are all a great size, we loved having 2 bathrooms, the living area was ample and it was great to have our own washer and dryer. We were also greeted with a beautiful bunch of roses on the table upon arrival. There is a television in the living area and each bedroom, with apple tv available in the living room.
Lots of eateries around and a great Amish Market a couple of blocks up - where you can get all of your groceries.
Couldn't recommend enough. The only thing to note is that the apartment is at the top of 3 flights of quite steep stairs, so if you might have trouble with that its perhaps not so suitable. We managed it with the baby (in an ergo baby carrier) and light pram fine.
We had a group of 7 women. This place is defiantly the place to be. Mr. Marin is a cool guy ... no nonsense ... easy to work with and very responsive. When you stay here you are definitely a "native" New Yorker so I advise you to rent ONLY if you are looking for the REAL NYC experience. We walked to our theater ... walked to times square ... restaurants are right at your front door. All the GOOD things folks are saying below are absolutely true. You will call this place home!
This amazing apartment is located at 45th street and 9 avenue NY NY 10036.
