Why Linda Scheer chose Charleston Area

2613 Bayonne is a great location to everything at Sullivans. A 15 minute walk down the beach will put you at all of the restaurants and parks. We take a lot of pride in the property. You will always find the house clean, and Linda is always willing to go that extra mile to ensure your vacation is pleasant and that you want to return.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We just spent our third annual family vacation here. As usual, loved the views, the breezes under the eaves in the afternoons, bocce ball on the lawn in the evenings, morning visits from a brown ware, and daily visits to the beach. Thanks for the additional grill. Be back next year (Please contact us if you want to sell.)

Beautiful home on Sullivans Island

  • 5 of 5

This is a great home on Sullivans Island for a long weekend, or even multiple weeks, with plenty of room for everyone. We had an wonderful time here and hope we get the chance to come back sometime, preferable in the summer.

Owner's Response: The house is perfect for two families to share. There are two Living Rooms, with one floor hosting the main kitchen and the one floor has a half kitchen with a mircowave and a refrigerator. The sun room is right off of the large deck overlooking beautiful views of the ocean!

Typical Beach Bungalo

  • 4 of 5

This is a traditional beach bungalow with great beach access. The bedrooms are great and the amenities good too. No issues or trouble during our stay and definitely a good value for those that want the beach experience at Sullivan's Island, a real gem. Great restaurants are nearby and renting a golf cart makes traversing around the Island very enjoyable.

Clean and comfortable but somewhat dated.

  • 4 of 5

Kitchen was well-equipped but the TV in the upstairs family room was small for the room. Also the steps were a little difficult to get luggage up and down. Location was good what I would recommend this for anybody looking for several bedrooms.

Great location but disappointing for price

  • 3 of 5

While the location was great, there was an overall lack of cleanliness and care for the renters comfort. I did not mind the outdated/mismatched furniture but I did mind the general lack of cleanliness.

Several examples are:

1. Floors were so deep down dirty, that I had black on my feet at the end of the night. This, after getting out of the shower with clean feet. I had to baby wipe my feet before I could put them in bed. I do not know how often the hard wood is actually cleaned (not swept or lightly mopped), but it needs to be deep cleaned more often.

2. Pillow on the beds had stains on them and were flattened from overuse. Pillows need to be replaced as often as they are dirty or flattened. I do not want to put my head to sleep on someone's sweat or pee even if I have my own pillowcase.

3. The hardwood floor in front of the second oven in the kitchen is being baked by escaping heat from the oven. I do not know how the owners could be so neglectful. They ask us to keep sand to a minimum in their home so the floors stay nice but, they should not expect expect us to care more than they do.

4. The furniture in the upstairs livingroom was way overdue for a deep cleaning. Colorful patterned furniture does not hide dirt as you may hope it does. I had to put a sheet or blanket on the furniture before I would sit on it.

5. The kitchen was so hot! It was like cooking inside an oven.

6. Just overall care for the house (inside and out) should be greatly improved before I would consider renting again.

The location was great. Couldn't beat it. It is the redeeming quality for the house but I wouldn't bank on it to heal all of its wounds. Thank you.

Owner's Response: So Sorry to hear that this guest had a bad experience and did not contact me. I personally would have gone out to ensure the house was clean. The upstairs furniture does need to be replaced and I will be as soon as we slow down from the summer schedule. I am replacing some of the pillows this weekend, and even though pillows all have clean pillow protectors on them, I will replace the protectors as well as needed. We always appreciate feedback from our guests.

Beyond Bayonne

  • 4 of 5

My family resided here for the week of June 4-11. I loved the layout of the house; it really does suit 2 families well. My brother and his wife and my friend Martha were all upstairs, and my husband and I had the master bedroom downstairs where our adult children and their spouses stayed as well. This gave them a space to watch tv, play games, etc., leaving the upstairs livingroom for the older generation. If 2 families were renting this together, the older generation could be upstairs and all of the younger ones down; works out so well. I also loved the large and wonderfully furnished kitchen and the screen porch with the two table and lots of chairs; we entertained relatives there for dinner one night and the porch was able to accomodate all 13 of us. The livingroom furniture is a bit beat up, in that the couches have shown a lot of wear, but the livingroom was roomy and seated a lot of folks. I think using the electronics was a challenge to those trying to; it would be helpful to update that system and to also have specific directions to go with navigating it. But all in all, we were very satisfied with this house and I hope to return to it again some day.

Nice accommodations!

  • 4 of 5

Linda was flexible and worked with us regarding our dates. Check in was seamless and Linda responded promptly to our questions. House was the perfect size for our needs, but the spiral staircase from the upstairs living area to the main entry was a little difficult to navigate, particularly when carrying suitcases or a baby. Also, if you have toddlers or crawlers, you may want to bring a portable baby gate to block off the staircase at the top. The rail spindles were also far enough apart that our 1 yr old could slip between them. We had to be very diligent!! That said, the house was in a great location and close to the beach access. Appliances were in great working order. No issues. Only suggestion would be updating/cleaning living area furniture. They have definitely seen their better days. We were happy with accommodations and would definitely consider staying here again.
