The weather was: Sunny then overcast (but the overcast didn't bother us at all)
Our favorite adventures: Walking around Portland and Old Orchard. Really just hanging out with the girls and laughing.
Great restaurants we discovered: Roma Pizza in Old Orchard, Walters in Portland.
Other thoughts to share: We loved the condo, the way it was decorated. We all felt very homey and comfortable. We loved sitting around the table to play games and talking. We may be back next year!!
My family and I rented this three bedroom condo at the Grand Victorian for a week and had one of our best family vacation ever. The condo is beautiful, has all the amenities you need. The condo was fully stocked with everything you needed such as bedding, towels, all kitchen necessities, flat screen TVs, WI-FI and a deck/porch which we spent hours on people watching. The porch really is a great space and runs the majority of the entire building. Even when other unit renters/owners are on their porch you have your own privacy because of its size. The condo is steps from the beach, pier, amusement park for kids and the best restaurants/bars. Can't wait to rent this unit again next year!
I rented this property for my husband and self and 2 daughters and their families. We had 2 toddlers and 1 10 year old. This condo is ascomfortable as home, safe as needed with children, and luxurious. This unit has the best of both sides of the beach, You can see the ocean and people watch everyone in the courtyard and at the amusement play area. The weather the week we visited was perfect, we rented this condo because of the indoor heated pool, because our last trip to Maine in August of 2008 rained every day! But we were at the beach everyday! The unit is so user friendly, I walk with a cane and getting around was so great. Elevator close to the unit beach really near and accessable. The fireworks spectacular. I even walked around the shops was never too far from the unit. My daughters visited the hair and nail salon had a great time. The unit is not noisy eventhough activity is abundant, if you follow the rules close the balcony doors correctly you would never know there was anyone outside! The Staff were very nice and helpful, beware check in day parking and unloading does get backed up. However you just park the car and everything is right there. If you love to people watch, relax and not drive to everything it is great, Joseph's by the sea is pricey but nice treat for lobster, Nice Family restaurant past the square. Great souvenier shop near Pine Point. children's fishing lips day trip is great. Nice mini golf. Good grocery stores reasonable priced. The unit is fully equipped with beach and household accessories, just bring your clothes and alot of tanning lotion. Books and movies and toys galore are already there. All in all this mostly midwesterner Iowa family loved Old Orchard Beach! We will be back hopefully soon . Rich and pat Thanks maggie we had a super time!
