Kona Isle is on the makai (ocean) side of Alii Drive, 2 ½ miles south of Kailua-Kona. The condo has both a view of the ocean and swimming pool and a view of the mountain from the lanai. The grounds are beautifully cared for with lots of open space.

This second floor condo is fully furnished with all amenities for your enjoyment. Ceiling fans and screened doors and windows maintain a comfortable temperature with security and privacy. Carpets and bedroom window coverings are new. Easily accessible walk-in shower. This is a Non-Smoking unit as well as the property is non-smoking. Sleeping arrangements include a queen-size bed in the bedroom Our condo association house rules require a minimum 5-night rental. We can accommodate no more than 2 persons. However, there is an air bed for a child.

Wireless Internet Access is available in the unit.

Kona Isle is a taste of the real aloha of Hawaii. After a day of sightseeing and beaches, enjoy the relaxation of our barbecue area with picnic tables near the shore, or reclining on lounges under the palm trees on the white sand beach, where you can watch the sunsets and whales in the winter. Our pool is solar heated so it is comfortable all year. There is a salt-water pool adjacent to the property that is great fun when the waves are pounding in.

Kailua Town is 2 ½ miles north and Keauhou is 5 miles to the south; both with shopping, restaurants, music, snorkeling, and grocery stores.

We hope to make your visit to the Big Island and Kailua-Kona a wonderful experience.

About Joanne Broadhurst

Hawaii has always been a special place for both Jack and me until he passed away in Janaury 2015.. He started coming in the 1970's. When we met in the late 1980's, Kona was the first place we spent a vacation and we have been coming back every year since then. The rest of the year is spent in Oregon in a small town outside of Portland. We are both Oregonians. I'm a native and Jack was a transplant from Montana. My pastime is Oregon history and Jack loved to garden and grows great vegetables.

Why Joanne Broadhurst chose Kona Coast

Kona Isle became our second home almost accidentally. We were vacationing in Kona in the spring and were looking for a place for our next visit. After spending a few weeks here we knew this was where we wanted to be. And we have never regretted our decision. It is really a special place for beauty, relaxation, friendliness and close to all the attractions, shopping and restaurants.

What makes this condo unique

Sometimes the major decision of the day, after breakfast on the lanai, is whether to go down to the beach and sit under a tree in a lounge chair and read, swim a bit, or do some sightseeing. All we know is that soon it is time for dinner and we haven't done all we planned on doing. Life goes slower in Kona. Or it can go as fast as you want.

Felt like home away from home- Planning to return here

Comfortable, pretty clean-It offered everything we needed and more. The views are fantastic! The gardens are gorgeous. We really loved using the salt water pool - right next door. The folks at the condo are very, very friendly. Joanne was the best! She helped us figure out some issues with the keys and was so accommodating. We enjoyed using the bbqs and the beach chairs. Just be aware there isn't direct access to the water. You have to climb over lava. Not the greatest snorkelling spot if that is what you are looking for. The waves crashing in to the shore were amazing. Whales were breaching and spouting off shore. One more thing you may want to be aware of: the bedroom window is along the walkway where people access their rooms. Not really an issue, but something to consider. It was pretty quiet after 10 pm, so it didn't bother us. We really appreciated having a full kitchen and washing machine, dryer. The wifi worked well too. Very comfortable and lots of space. We plan to return here again- such a great spot! We felt so glad to have found it! Thank you so much Joanne. You really helped make our holiday great.

Even though the water is not easily accessible from the om here, there is lots of wonderful snorkeling close by. MOst condos along the lava coast of Kona are easily accessible to the ocean directly. Home away from home

We absolutely loved our stay at Kona Isle C25. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained with lots of open space. The pool, beachfront and BBQ area are so unique for a waterfront condo, every other place seems to be built almost to waters edge. The condo itself was very clean and nicely appointed. The kitchen had everything you need to cook and serve all your meals. Definitely will stay there again.

Great, relaxing place to stay

We stayed here nine nights and hated to leave. Joanne's condo is modest but comfortable, and had everything we needed. The lanai has a view of the ocean and it was a great place for the two of us to eat all our home-cooked meals. The neighbors were friendly, and the complex at Kona Isle was quiet and peaceful. The overall property is neat, clean and well cared for, so we spent more time than expected just relaxing on the private "beach" by the water. There wasn't much need to leave, some days, and the sunsets were always a treat from this vantage point.

Joanne happened to be staying nearby during our visit and was helpful and quick to respond to when we had a question. Brian, the complex manager, was very friendly and provided some helpful tips on snorkeling sites and safe water-entry points. The location of the condo was great, and within walking distance (a little more than a mile) to shopping and dining in Kona, and an easy drive from snorkeling sites a bit farther south. Experiences snorkelers can also find good snorkeling within walking distance, so checkout the nearby Shoreline Access points as marked with signs on Ali'i Drive. It was very helpful to have accessories such as a cooler, towels and beach chairs provided with the condo. We also took advantage of the library room to find a good book to read on the beach. There are also some magazines and games available in the library. If you want fancy and luxurious, look elsewhere. But if you want clean, comfortable, affordable and convenient, this place is a great option. We would definitely stay here again.

Alii Drive

Location was perfect,accurately described by the owner. Owner provided all essential information. BBQ area consisted of 3 burners, so no waiting list was required. Beside that tables, lounges, all within a short distance from the surf. The property is very well maintained, with beautiful garden, full of exotic trees and shrubs, and pleasant, clean swimming pool. I would recommend this property, and I would like to come again.

Pleasant and convenient

Kona Isle is well located with easy access to downtown Kailua. The property is very well maintained, nice pool and waterfront amenities. The unit was clean and the owner Joanne was on site and very helpful. The only slight negative would be the kitchen utensils and cookware,(a little dated and some need replacement). We would recommend this property to friends and relatives.

THe condo is conveniently located on Alii Drive which runs along the ocean from Kailua town to the Keauhou area. It is an easy walk into town and a fairly regular shuttle bus system. This area of the Big Island still has a small town feel with many of the major retailers on the outskirts of town such as Target, KMart, WalMart, Costco, and Safeway, Lots of restaurants and shopping within 2-5 miles each direction. Gorgeous beaches such as Kua Bay, Hapuna, Mauna Kea, to the north beyond the airport. Two major historic sites or museums. Hulihe'e Palace, one of 3 remaining royal palaces, located downtown Kailua across from the oldest church in Hawaii. South of Kona is the Pu'uhonua o Honaunau (Place of Refuge) historic site. Just a few of the wonderful spots to visit.
