Nice cabin but little rough around the edges
The cabin was in a Very beautiful area. But the yard could of used some TLC. And the inside could of used some Also.
Sure...it was not fancy
This was a good place for a crowd to stay! Plenty of room! Plenty of kitchen space! The owners were easy to contact and accommodating. Sure, this place is not fancy, but it has EVERYTHING you need! It is a great place! Except the food, bring that yourself - as expected!
We would stay there again!
Follow the directions the owner gives you, GPS is not useful.
Great location, great property for activities: bring horseshoes, some outside games, a radio, some bug spray, light a fire and have a blast! There are really great places to see and things to do in the area!
Two things that need to be addressed: AC; the AC downstairs does not reach the bedroom off the kitchen (could use one in the dining room to reach that bedroom, and the AC was not installed in the second bedroom upstairs). The clothes dryers are not efficient.
Very clean house in a quiet location. Will book again.
Very quiet, beautiful setting.
Very well stocked. Slightly rustic. Great for a few friends for a weekend or week vacation. Would be ideal for hunters as well if you had access to hunting land nearby.
You may be comfortable here...others not.
I've read all the reviews of this rental since my stay in August. There are elements in most of them that applied to my stay. The five stars tend to focus on the beauty of the area, solitude, quiet, fresh air, stunning night time sky. All true. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed that aspect to our stay. The not-so-favorable reviews discuss conditions inside and outside the home and property. I left the owner, Daryl, a list of suggestions that we thought would improve things. These included removing the collapsed burn barrel in the back yard that is filled with empty beer bottles and cans. Picking up cigarette butts around the front deck and removing the torn outdoor carpeting hanging off the steps. Weed whacking and clearing around the outdoor shed. Finishing the trim around the floors and doors inside. One person raved about the modern conveniences, including wifi. There isn't wifi and Daryl was upfront about that when I asked. There is cell service for Verizon users. Also, he said he'd had a satellite guy out to try to fix things, but at the time of our stay, there was no satellite and therefore no way to play dvd's since the connections went through the satellite receiver. To play DVDs we would have needed a cable to go direct to the TV (an HDMI to a 3 prong red/yellow/white) which we didn't have. All the beds were made up but looked rumpled. I, too, questioned whether the sheets were clean. Daryl assured me they were, but I found what I thought was dirt or debris that might have come from dirty feet at the end of one of the beds, so we washed all our sheets before sleeping in them. It is true that the microwave could use a good scrub down as well as the cabinet faces. I suggested to Daryl to move things on the floors and counter tops when cleaning, get behind, under and around. The 3/4 bathroom is shared with the washer and two dryers. The water heater and expansion tank from the well are visible and the plumbing is exposed. This isn't a complaint. A lot of people grow up with bathrooms like this, but I know some people, including my family, would find it odd. The couple times I talked with Daryl he seemed apologetic and sincere that conditions were not satisfactory, but I'm not sure if complaints are taken seriously since the negative reviews mention very specific things that we also experienced. This rental has a lot of potential and we would enjoy returning if there was a change in management practices.
