About Jill Andersen

We are the Andersen's! Brandon, Jill and three boys -Cooper, Colby, and Griffin. We also have a Golden Retriever named Tundra. We have bought, fixed up and sold many cabins in Grand Rapids. We bought this cabin in 2003 and love it so much, we kept it! We lived in Minneapolis when we bought this cabin and made the trek up north every weekend. We moved to Breezy Point, MN several years ago, and don't make it up north as often as we used to. Our kids are at the ages where they have hockey, mountain biking, and Tae Kwon Do, and many other schedules to follow. That is why we rent our cabin! When we do stay there, we bring our 4 wheelers and play on the many trails available. The boys love it. We also fish, fish and fish some more. There are so many great places to fish and all types! Another favorite activity is to boat over to Drumbeater island and swim and just hang out. Kayaking is always fun too, along with big bon fires.

Jill Andersen purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Jill Andersen chose Cohasset

This property used to be an old boy scout camp. There are 5 private acres right on the lake. There is enough room to roam, yet you are close enough to Grand Rapids to get in on any action you want!

What makes this cabin unique

We love the space that this place provides. You can see the charming parts of the original cabin, and where new rooms have been added on.

Great Ladies Weekend!

  • 4 of 5

What a great cabin! Ladies ice fishing weekend was made even better by having a relaxing place to come back to after a day on the ice. Kitchen had all amenities needed to cook all of our meals and a 4 season room was where we spent most of our time eating, playing games and having some laughs! There were plenty of beds to go around which were not crowded. Due to the fact we were there in the winter the walkway was very icy when trying to unload and load up after our stay so be careful. The five of us are already talking about next years trip and we will hopefully be able to stay here again. Thanks for sharing your place!!

Owner's Response: So glad you had a great time together! That’s what cabins are for. ;) Sorry about the ice, it is tough to regulate this time of the year. Hope to see you back next year!

We loved it!

  • 4 of 5

Our overall experience was great. We would definitely do it again.

I forgot to leave a note for the homeowner to let them know that the Master bath door knob kept falling off and we noticed the dishwasher leaks.

Good location. Family friendly. No beach.

  • 4 of 5

Overall, we enjoyed our experience. It is a nice, private getaway. The biggest disappointment was that there was no beach or place to swim at the cabin and that the water around the dock was extremely weedy and a little gross. Fortunately Tioga Beach wasn't far away, so we took the kids there every day. It would have been nice to sit outside the cabin and watch the kids swim, rather than go to a public beach. We can do that at home. We cleaned the cabin but the vacuum cleaner needs to be upgraded. It gave out as we were vacuuming the last room. We had fun but I think we'll try a different location next year.

Quiet and cute

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed a great family gathering at the cabin. There was ample room for everyone to sleep comfortably and the large kitchen was great for feeding our crew. There is a nice fire pit area for evening fires and the dock was perfect for fishing with the kids. We were close enough to Grand Rapids to easily get groceries and whatever was needed. The only issue we had was the garbage bins were nearly full when we arrived, and there were several notices about being charged extra if our garbage didn't fit in the outdoor bins! Luckily we were able to cram our little bit of garbage in on top.
