Great Location

This was a great apartment and location. It was on the ground floor and opened to a inner courtyard so we didn't get the street noise. It is in old East Berlin which is a busy place with lots of restaurants. Public Transportation was very close, however, we walked almost everyplace (I would rather walk for 30 minutes than stand waiting for the tram or Metro.). Our host was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

The Best !

We have been renting short term apartments for over 25 years when our son was born and hotel rooms did not seem adequate anymore. This rental will be on top of our list. If you want an authentic Berlin feeling, this is the place. The apartment was clean, tastefully decorated and in a great neighborhood. We spent 12 days here. The kitchen is equipped with basics, but we are finicky eaters and found a grocery store close by. We cooked almost every night because we so enjoyed the place. If you are more of the "eating out" crowd, many restaurants in the area plus a "rotisserie" with great roasted chicken called "Rosa" or something like that. Certainly recommend this place to those who want to explore authentic Berlin although the tourist attractions are a few subway stops away and you can even go by foot, more or less 30 to 40 minutes. Also a must on the weekend, the Mauer park flea market. Want to mention Mena who nicely greeted us and gave us all the pertinent info and the owners who always answered our emails when we had a question. All in all a great stay in Berlin.

Apartment fine but owner not fine

Location of apartment was great. Apartment itself was fine. Main problem was in dealing with Marc. After arrival I wrote him a list of problems along with suggestions for improvements in instructions for future renters. The two biggest problems were that we couldn't get the tv to work and there were tons of misquotes inside--we killed about 40 on arrival. Marc's response was he thought I was homesick and what did I want him to do about all of this. I wrote back next to each item either "suggestion for future renter" or "please help" with tv and misquito problem. He never responded back. I am a VBRO owner myself and was appalled at his one response, then lack of response.

Perfect flat in a great neighborhood!

If you want to stay in the real "heart" of Berlin, this is a place to be. The neighborhood doesn't get better than this, and everything you want (dining, shopping, transportation) is right outside your door.

The flat had everything I needed for a week's stay. The bed was very comfortable, and it was nice to have a few friends come over and enjoy the living room. All in all, I am very happy with my time here!

Comfortable in a convenient location

I just spent a week in this comfortable apartment. The descriptions and photos were accurate, and I love the location. It's convenient for tourist sites yet feels like a neighborhood with cafes and bars. Public transportation to anywhere is reached in a 2 minute walk, and a grocery market is across the street. The apartment is on the ground floor (no stairs!) facing a sunny and quiet courtyard. The bedroom is small, but filled with a large comfortable bed and good reading lights. The internet is fast and reliable, and the kitchen is equipped with all the basics. Communication with Marc and Mena was easy. This is not a luxury apartment, but it was perfect for my week in Berlin.

Nice location, NIce Place

Great location. Needed a place for a quick business trip and found this apartment very well located and reasonably priced. Very clean. Marc was a great host and even had the place cleaned earlier so I could sleep after a long over night flight. The only comment I would have is a bit more closet space to hang things - although since I was out during so much of the trip I may have missed them. Overall a really nice experience and would book again.
