Tranquil lakeside getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family and I LOVED staying at this cozy and comfortable cottage. At the top of our list was the view of the lake, just steps away from the cottage, complete with lapping waves hitting the break wall. Every day we sat on the spacious deck and watched the lake, or sat atop the break wall to view it up close. And it was so soothing to hear the waves at night. A children's park and beach is also a few feet away, which was a convenient location from which we could kayak. We enjoyed the family-friendly and private community in which the cottage is located; everyone quickly became neighbors. The cottage is minutes away from Cedar Point; but there are other attractions worth visiting, such as Thomas Edison's childhood home in Milan, Put-in-Bay Island with Perry's Monument, and the Sheldon Marsh Nature Preserve (one of the remaining wetland areas in the state). The host, Dave, has equipped the cottage with everything necessary for a relaxing "home-away-from-home" vacation, including a fire pit for nighttime campfires. We thank Dave for his friendly and generous hospitality, his recreation and restaurant recommendations, and for welcoming our furry family member (dog) on our vacation!

Summer!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

I am the one to book our vacations and I hate cookie cutter places. I took a chance on this rental and it turned out great. Dave met us when we arrived and showed us the small but comfortable house. My 2 daughters loved the old style park next to the property and the view was amazing. We played cards and had a

fire pit next to the lake. It was a great time.

Little yellow house

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was perfect and Dave was very eager to please. We took our 3 yr old granddaughter who loved the park and the beach. On the day we were leaving our granddaughter cried because she wanted to stay longer. The week flew by to fast and we would highly recommend renting this cottage.

1st year (2011)was fun but 2nd year year(2012) was truly a life saver in more ways that one.

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here the last 2 years(2nd and 1st week of July respectively) and both years had record high temps. Everything that was needed to have an enjoyable week was provided in this little yellow cabin. You do not need to bring anything as you are 5 min. from Sandusky or Huron. All of the major stores are there and plenty of mom and pop stores also.

The 1st year was nothing but a relaxing time and fun. The 2nd year was the week of high winds in Ohio and all of central Ohio lost power from Friday until Tuesday for some and Friday until Thursday for others. This gave us a chance to have both of our children come an split the week with us. With medical needs for one of our family members, it was reassuring to have electric.

This gave us all a time to get away from our busy schedules and just catch up and enjoy each other.

We arrive a little early and was able to grab a chair and watch the water until the cabin was cleaned and ready for our week. The owner does an amazing job preparing and maintaining the properties to make sure that you are comfortable and that the property is as listed. All of your needs and concerns have always bee addresses promptly and always with a smile.

I have recommended get away property to many of our close friends and relatives.

Had a great time and am looking forward to returning in 2013

Thanks for the great facilities and the unforgettable memories made with our family.
