Overview

Rockport House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms - 1 Bath - (Sleeps 6)

This peaceful location on a quiet lane just outside of Rockport's downtown offers an easy place from which to enjoy the best that this world-renowned sea-side art colony has to offer. Beaches, shops, art galleries, restaurants, and Rockport Harbor are all just a five-minute walk from your door.

A five minute walk takes you directly into the heart of Rockport's downtown, full of art galleries, quaint shops, restaurants, and home of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival and Rockport Art Association. Boat tours leave regularly from two wharves, and you can rent sea kayaks, go deep sea-fishing, or climb the rocks at the end of Bearskin Neck and watch the sun set over the harbor and the famous Motif #1 fishing shack.

The same short walk brings you to Front Beach, with its fine swimming and scenic views of Rockport's coastline for adults, and gradual slope and tidepools that delight children. Along the way you will pass the lane leading to Millbrook Meadow, an oasis-like park with a pond, waterfall, babbling brook, and large lawn with swings and slide.

Perfect!

What a truly perfect vacation we had! The house is lovely and very clean. Everything you need is there. The location was great- close to downtown but in its own quiet neighborhood. We really loved our time there!

Better than even advertized!!

  • 5 of 5

We were three families from different parts of the country there for 4-5 days for a wedding and reunion. We were a bit surprised at how large the home was. The kitchen table easily seats 8 and the living room was more than spacious for us and our drop-in guests. Sleeping accommodations were perfect and even the hide-a-bed was comfy. The only downside was getting 7 showers in before we had to leave for the wedding. If not in a time crunch - that too was fine. Honestly, you can't get better than this for the money!! Sorry we were away when the owner stopped by, but it was an event-filled weekend. Thank you!!

Great house and location

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. It was an easy 5-minute walk into the center of town so we didn't need our car at all once we got there. Highly recommended!

Perfectly Situated

  • 5 of 5

We just loved our stay at 1 Chestnut. The house was nicely furnished and the kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking tools you might need to prepare a lovely dinner. We enjoyed walking into Rockport each day, stopping for a delicious coffee and lunch at the Bean and Leaf Cafe, walking out to the point at Bearskin Neck, digging our toes into the sand at the beach, and window shopping at all of the unique local shoppes. We met several neighbors-all who were friendly and welcoming. We were driving a bit up and down the local interstate, and even though this house is on a very quiet street, we found that the interstate and through roads were quickly reached. This area of New England is so charming. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect for Our Needs

  • 4 of 5

The house is located in a quiet neighborhood and had everything we needed. We loved how close we were to everything...within walking distance to the ocean and downtown Rockport. Grocery store just a few miles away. Also, appreciated that we had a driveway for parking. The owners were very accommodating in allowing us a little later check out. Would stay here again.
