#7 Thunder Ridge Chalet features THE best location at Fernie Alpine Resort. Others say their location is best, BUT THIS ONE DELIVERS. Check out the photos, and see what we're talking about. Just step off the back deck and you are on the ski run to go down to the lifts and base area amenities. For lunch or at the end of the day just take the 'Holo Hike' ski run and ski right back to the door. No walking - ever!
The owners of this property are avid skiers and therefore it only rents out 4 or 5 times a season. If availability matches with your vacation dates - this is the one to rent!
This property features an open plan main floor with a large living room and kitchen that was completely renovated in the the summer of 2017. The living room is perfect for relaxing and entertaining with new hardwood floor through out and a plush carpet in front of the fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped with absolutely everything you need. Top end appliances and a large quartz island for socializing around after a great day on the slopes.
The upper floor has three bedrooms:
Master (queen bed, en suite bathroom with shower, walk in closet with washer/dryer)
Bedroom 2 (queen bunk bed (two people on top, two people below), and
Bedroom 3 (queen bed)
The second bathroom on this floor has a full bath & shower and is for use by guests in Bedrooms 2 and 3.
On the back deck is your private hot tub and gas BBQ.
As this is an end unit in Thunder Ridge looking up at the mountain. You have wonderful views of the ski hill and bright sunshine coming in through the day. A few steps away is the Hollo Hike run which takes you DOWN to the elk chair. No waking - ever! All of the Fernie Alpine Resort's restaurants, bars, spas, and stores are an easy five minute walk so park the car and forget about driving for a while!
The garage is set up as a gear room and houses a boot rack, and racks for skis and boards, poles and clothes. The garage is heated so everything drys out and is ready for the next day.
IMPORTANT:This is a family condo offering a beautiful condo to our patrons. Party hounds and bachelor groups need not apply. Thunder Ridge has a noise curfew in place so if you are looking for a party place, please apply elsewhere.

We are a family from Calgary but have been skiing in Fernie for over 30 years. We know the resort and the town inside out and love to share the many experiences it offers with people from around the world.

Fernie, and specifically this wonderful condo, really let's you unwind. Often we arrive, and don't get back in the car to go any where for days as everything you need is right there. So great not to have to drive!
What makes this Condo unique
Location. Location. Location. Many people market their properties with great location or best location. Thunder Ridge, and specifically this unit in Thunder Ridge, truly is the best. Look at the photos and you can see that you literally step off the back deck, and start skiing down to the lifts, AND you can ski back right to the same spot for lunch or the end of the day.

Location truly is best on the mountain, and everything in the condo was just great. Super well layed out and exactly what we were looking for. Skiing right to the door for lunch and at the end of the day was awesome!

Roomy condo with a great open plan for families and visiting. Better than the pictures of the property suggest. Great hot tub location on the back deck with lots of privacy.
Truly is the perfect ski in/out
The location is perfect very roomy has a great kitchen nice floor plan, great hot tub overlooking the mountain, ski locker in the garage was such an added bonus, we would definitely stay there again. Thanks to the Novak's for a great trip and being so courteous and professional.
Very good location to explore the mountain
The rear balcony is approx. 15 feet away from an access slope. Cannot ask to be closer.
The overall condition of the property was good and clean.
This property has been build probably 15 or so years ago and it shoes a bit. Some renovations have been done and it seems that the owner are still putting money into the property in ordor to maintain it in relatively good conditions.
The master bed room is ok but the two other rooms are quite small.
It is a place I would not hesitate to return or recommand.

Fantastic Family Home
We loved the ski-in-ski-out aspect of this condo. We hired for a week in February and got close to a foot of fresh snow the night we arrived (28cm)! so conditions were great and we even got some sledding in on the slope right next to the condo which the kids loved! The Griz restaurant is only a few steps from the condo and was a great spot too, as was the fernie village which wasnt much further walk. The hot tub was ideal for soaking our bones in after a full day skiing, the layout of the condo was great too, open plan with a cozy den and gas fireplace with Netflix to chill out on the sofa on. The upstairs bedrooms were ideal for our family, a queen bunk room for our 3 boys, a smaller bedroom for our Mom and finally the master suite with great views of Fernie Alpine (the boys loved watching the snowcats go by our window grooming the runs at night! So overall we would highly recommend this condo and this mountain for great terrain and friendly locals to make you feel right at home.

I would like to thank you and your family for renting your beautiful condo to us from March 5 – 9. We had a fabulous time and truly loved the location. I know our time spent as a family was very memorable and when we have the opportunity to do another Fernie trip with the kids, we will definitely check to see if your condo will be available.

We cannot guarantee the ski conditions during the ski season. If the ski hill is open, cancellation is per contract. 100% deposit refunded minus $50 admin fee if cancelled 45 days prior to stay 75% deposit refunded minus $50 admin fee if cancelled 30 days prior to stay No refund less than 30 days prior to stay. In some cases, the owner may allow the guests to change booking to any open dates within the ski season. There is a self-contained lower unit that may or may not be occupied during your stay.
