Quiet, romantic, tropical Kana'i A Nalu, at the north end of Ma'alaea Bay in South Maui, provides a unique setting for your Hawaiian vacation. Our privately owned two bedroom two bath beachfront 'home away from home' is a corner unit on the second floor of a 4 story building at water's edge. Our private lanai, 30 feet from the ocean, looks across white sand beach and ocean to neighboring Islands and 10,000 foot Haleakala. It provides the perfect winter viewing spot to watch, up close and personal, the mother hump back whales train their young for their long trip back to the Northern Pacific

In November 2016 new granite counter tops were installed in the kitchen and both bathrooms. Also new tile in the master shower. New sinks and faucets with all that. New ceiling fans and lights. All so new that just a few new images posted!

Enjoy all the benefits of a corner unit on the second floor: the added security of not being at ground level, the privacy of having bedroom windows looking out on the beautiful courtyard, pool and ocean instead of sidewalk and parking lot and the absence of foot traffic past your private lanai.

All prices are in US Dollars.

The master bedroom has a comfortable cal king-size bed with a private bath and wall to wall windows with full view of beach, courtyard and pool. The second bedroom, with a view of the pool, courtyard and ocean, has twin beds that can be made up as a king. A second bathroom is across a small alcove. A queen-size sleeper couch in the living room can accommodate up to 2 additional guests. The tropical furnishing throughout and the well stocked full kitchen and generous supply of beach gear will make your vacation one of easy comfort. Our private lanai gives us much pleasure - reading, eating, whale watching or just plain relaxing to the sound of the gentle surf. Our Green Sea Turtles are seen 10 to 15 feet offshore and the reef just off our beach delights the snorkelers. The beach in front of our condo continues to the north end of Kihei as part of the Kealia Nature Preserve: this translates to no development, no traffic and no problems - just 4 miles of empty white sand beach.

There is WiFi in the condo.

A five to ten minute walk from our condo presents a wide variety of activities: snorkel and sunset cruises from the marina, a world class aquarium, miniature golf park and bumper boats, a small shopping area and many different restaurants. The eating choices range from the various restaurants through other excellent, less pricey eateries to Carl's Jr and a Deli/convenience store.

We provide the best of both worlds on Maui. If you are running away from work, snow and cold, or responsibilities in general, our laid back remnant of 'Old Maui' will have you relaxed in no time. If you want activity and want to see the Island, you are 15 minutes from the airport, 20 minutes from the North Shore, Lahaina, Kihei and Wailea, and 5 miles or less from 4 golf courses. When you are overwhelmed with all the activities available on the Island, trade the traffic and heavily populated tourist areas for the quiet serenity of Ma'alaea; dig your toes into the white sand beach in front of your own private lanai and unwind to the sound of the surf and the trade winds blowing thru palm fronds.

Why Don Huntress W01149170-01 chose Maui

It was love at first sight. We had stayed for several years up in Kaanapali back in the early '70s and found it too crowded, too congested - even then. Now it was 1998 and we were giving Maui another try, staying up the street, before the beach starts. We walked through the grounds at Kana'i A Nalu and we were hooked. Still feel the same 17 years later.

What makes this condo unique

Relaxed Island living with a great view of the islands, beach and ocean. Love watching the whales come back every year - they are in so close we can watch the mothers teaching the babies. Enjoy the friendships developed over the years with the other owners and the many renters that return year after year.

Your condo was perfect for us – so much more space than a hotel (the teens having their own bathroom was a blessing!!).

A great central location to explore the island and with such a fantastic view – we ate many meals on the balcony and made good use of the BBQ. Good surf right off the beach and even saw turtles several times. We enjoyed snorkeling at Molokini (went with the small Red Boat tours which I would highly recommend as we got to snorkel the drop as well). Did the bike ride down Haleakala, walked some of the ridge trails, hired SUPs and surfboards, drove around both volcanoes – loved some of the beaches by Hana.

The kids went paragliding which was a real treat captured on GoPro. Enjoyed a food tour of Lahaina and the more quirky fun scene of Paia. And tried the Maui Brewing Cos beers too.

So loads of photos and many fond memories.

This is the 2nd time we stayed at Don and Colleen's condo. This latest time was 8/5/07 through 8/21/07. They have a very nice condo, great for a family. I love the location and that is an end unit. Master looks over the beach and pool, 2nd looks over the pool. No issues with not wanting to leave a window open in the 2nd bedroom since a lot of the time the second bedrooms face a walkway. Lanai looks directly onto the beach (35 ft). No A/C, but it is not needed with the tradewinds that come through the valley and through Maalaea. Nice central location 20-25 minutes to Lahina, 10 minutes to central Kihei, 10 minutes to Kahalui. Like not being in the middle of a "city", sugarcane field behind complex. A little market within walking distance up the street for the emergency milk or small needs. I like the tile floor throughout the unit, so much easier to see that it is clean than carpet. We usually had breakfast at the condo, 75 / 25 on dinner, using the BBQ's out by the pool is very nice setting (they have gas a charcoal). Had no problems with anything, a non issue which is how it is supposed to work.

Dream Condo in MAUI!

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION this Condo is awesome, it is located right in the middle of everything, very easy access to West, South and North Maui. The condo itself is unbelievable, it was everything we expected and more! Beds were very comfortable, the two bathroom is a huge please for our family of four. When we come back we will not hesitate to book again, we just hope Don and Colleen continue to share their condo! The first thing we did when we arrived was walk down to the beach access and was greeted with a rainbow. The condo is well supplied from paper towels in the kitchen to hair dryer in the bathroom and even received a welcome gift that included a fresh pineapple! It was great that CDs with maps are also provided for your Road to Hana trip! There is beach equipment along with a cooler, beach towels, everything you would need to vacation on Maui! The washer and dryer are a huge asset along with a small vacuum to keep the sand under control! There is nothing I would change or add to our experience with our stay, we just can't wait to plan our next trip!

Perfect Location, Nice Place, Thoughtful Amenities

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in Maui, and this condo was one of the keys to a wonderful vacation. For starters, this condo had the perfect, quiet location for us, equidistant from all the places you would typically want to visit on the island, especially for snorkeling. Also, the price was very reasonable. We absolutely LOVED the view and proximity to the private beach and ocean waves, just a few feet away. We would fall asleep to the sound of the waves and wake up to a sunrise over Mount Haleakala. Priceless! The amenities included in this place were put to good use on our ocean adventures. For a family of 6, we had just enough room, and the large refrigerator helped. The owners and manager were responsive when we had questions. All in all, highly recommended!

A wonderful condo literally right on the beach, in a central but quiet location on Maui

The owners were wonderful to deal with. They responded quickly and answered all of our questions. As a family of 5 with 3 teenagers the condo was perfect. Coffee on the lanai (balcony) in the early morning next to the beach was a wonderful way to start the day. Ma'alaea is a perfect location for those who like to experience several parts of the island. You are in the middle of Maui with easy access to Kihei and Lahaina, as well as a trip to Hana and up Haleakala. We spent 2 weeks in the condo and never ran out of things to do. There are only condos in the area and we found it quiet away from the hustle and bustle of some of the resort areas. There is no air-conditioning but you can get the breeze through the condo in the evening which cools it down to a comfortable temperature. Lots of fans made it pleasant at night time. This condo is a real gem and we hope to be able to come back one day.

Great place to stay in Maui

Loved this condo. Great location with such a nice boogie boarding beach. Also a great walking beach. This unit has great ocean and mountain views. Second floor is awesome: privacy of not being ground floor but not too many steps. Also being an end unit added another window, and cooling breeze, to the Master suite. Lovely home away from home ! Thanks !!!
