House was located closer to neighbors than expected, but they were of no trouble so no harm done. Overall it was a pleasant experience, would visit again.
Beautiful cabin, conveniently located.
6 adults & 4 kids spent a very enjoyable weekend at this rental. This is a well equipped cabin in a convenient location for either Snow Mountain or Beach Mountain ski resorts, Banner Elk, Bonne or Blowing Rock.
We were pleasantly surprised how well equipped the cabin was.
A great retreat for a large family get together.
Everything about this cabin feels like home. Everything. Even after 35 years of vacation rentals I am always aware that my family is borrowing someone else's space, like a hotel room. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just part of vacationing. Until this cabin. From the moment we opened the door we felt like we belonged there...like it was ours. When we left, we didn't feel like we were going home, but leaving home. Truly you have never seen so many long faces. It was like having to give away something you love. This is special place. The owners have gift, and it's rare.
On the nuts and bolts the cabin is equipped with everything you would need or want. We did bring extra bath towels and used some of them. Towels for the hot tub are provided, as well as towels in each bathroom. The wi-fi, our cell phones and the satellite cable worked perfectly. There is no tv in the kids bunk room, not a big deal for us. The fire pit, the front porch and the beds, oh my lord, the beds, are amazing. Plenty of seating and tons of firewood. Our youngest was 8 so really don't know about baby equipment except to say I did see a high chair & a baby gate in the laundry room. The kitchen has everything you need to make, bake or prepare anything. There's plenty of storage in the pantry off the kitchen for food. Games galore for everyone. Fire sticks for s'mores. A lighted 12x vanity mirror.. We just never needed anything that wasn't there. The garbage has to be limited to two 13 gallon kitchen bags ( all that fits in the outdoor garbage can) or taken to the collection center a few minutes away. (closed Sunday's) . The kitchen sink does have a garbage disposal. The cabin is clean and beautifully maintained. We had no problems what-so-ever & had no need to contact the owner. The cabin uses the lock box on arrival so no need to stop by the realtors, an additional bonus. So was the friendly little dashound that visited frequently & provided endless hours of affection for the grandkids. A big shout out to Chewy!
The cabin is located about 2 miles from the little town of Banner Elk. We were there during the Woolly Worm festival, and traffic was a nightmare. But from the cabin into town we had no traffic. The festival is fantastic...check it out on you tube! Boone, Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Mountain are just a short drive away. So much to see and do and the mountains in changing foliage are breath-taking. Truly unforgettable. We can't wait to go back.
We just got back from the cabin on Jan. 10th. The cabin is much bigger and nicer than shown on the pictures. Very close to the slopes, tubing and ice skating! (6 min drive at 35 mph city limit). Very well equipped kitchen, nicely decorated and you surely feel like home when away from home. The only note have is that cleaning crew needs to do a better job but other than that everything was perfect! We are booking it soon again for a 2nd trip next month! I would most definitely recommend it to anyone!
Our family rented the Bearfoot Cabin for a long weekend to celebrate the 60th Annual Highland Games @ Grandfather Mountain. Upon arrival we were so excited simply because the outside of the house was so gorgeous and to our delight the inside was just as beautiful! The kitchen is a wonderful size along with the large dining room table that seats eight! The kitchen was stocked with everything you could hope for to assist you the cooking of meals! The master bedroom right off the kitchen was perfect for my parents and the bathroom was awesome, we loved having a door between the shower and the rest of the bathroom so people could be using both with privacy! The living room was beautifully decorated with extremely comfortable furniture! The two bedrooms upstairs were just as comfortable and spacious as the master bedroom on the main level! The pool table was enjoyed several times as well! The downstairs bedrooms were no disappointment just like the rest of the house. One thing my family loved was the ceiling fans in all of the rooms except the bunk bed room. Ceiling fans are important to the women of the family! I cannot really describe how peaceful and welcoming the two front porches were other than we absolutely loved them! The fire pit was perfect and incredibly convenient! Wood was delivered promptly on the check-in day! Our entire stay was made perfect by this beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming cabin!
Tracey was wonderful to work with, any questions we had he promptly answered! We appreciate all he did to make our vacation as fabulous as it could be!
