This place was great. We went up with 10 people but we never felt crowded. The location is perfect if you like total privacy but don't want to sacrifice the convenience of civilization. The town of Tannersville's is less than 10 minutes away with all of the shopping and restaurants you need to keep you busy when Mother Nature becomes too quiet. The house is clean and well maintained but not so as to make you feel unwelcome. After short period of time you feel like you are at home. Sleeping at night in total silence is a real treat!
There is a large kitchen and dining room If you like to cook , a sauna and a hot tub to relax in and plenty of games for the kids. If you should have any issues or require anything the care taker is very responsive. I am looking forward to going back once the snow is on the ground, Hunter Mountain is only 15 minutes away.
We went with family and friends and this home is in great condition and is in a fantastic location. We had a great time! The care taker met us upon our arrival and he was extremely informative. He told us about some great local attractions. The only negative we can draw from our experience is there were no air conditioners. There were fans, but it was a little hot.
Overall, this place was great. We had 16 people in our group and there was plenty of space. The location is perfect for those looking for a place off the beaten path, with the feel that you are in the remote wilderness with no one around for miles. However, shopping and dining options are a mere 10 minutes away. Also, within just a few miles is the infamous devils path hiking trail. The house has a great kitchen to prepare large meals and an outside grill. The sauna was also a great touch and very spacious. The house is rustic, definitely not for those looking for luxury accomodations. The only issue we encountered was that unfortunately the hot tub was out of commission when we arrived. The caretaker had unsuccessfuly attempted to fix it prior to our arrival. The owner kindly agreed to drop the rental price, as a result. So if you are set on a hot tub, I would just check in with the owner to see if it has since been repaired.
I have read the past reviews and was kinda nervous that I just booked with them. But I been a guest for years at this lodge. It was getting old & didn't look like the caretaker was taking that good of care of it anymore. But I just recently stayed there and it was fantastic. The Jacuzzi & Sauna worked wonderful. I questioned it at the booking time and they promised everything was updated, fixed & cleaned! They for sure weren't kidding. The beds, sheets, kitchen, game room, jacuzzi, sauna, towels were updated. I was so happy with this stay & Thank the company for being honest with me.
Stay away from this house, it is not what they advertise, they don't fix anything and house not clean. They charge a lot of money and don't get what you need. Jacuzzi doesn't work, they say, they going to fix it, but don't do it at all. Also, sauna doesn't keep a heat, in few min it is getting cold. In the house wall and sill have holes.
We are not picky people but this property was obviously not suitable for any one of reasonable standards. Its funny, the review prior to ours is pretty much exactly what I have to say.
We were there in early August and when we arrived the house was disgusting. The maid and the caretaker were contacted and did the best they could but the house was dirty and poorly maintained. The floors were dirty, kitchen was dirty, the leather sofa had a huge problem and was supported by about 50 towels, flys/bugs every where inside, beds were terrible with coil sticking up into you, bannister was missing bars, the cutlery and plates/cups were worse than my college dorm days.
Clearly not suitable for kids and families. Do not stay here. Just find a better property.
