We love our Mahana condos. We look forward to our visit each year. The view is one of the best in the world and the privacy is an unexpected plus. We barbecue dinner almost every night and enjoy cocktails on the lanai, often with friends.

We stayed at the Mahana in 1992 with the kids and fell in love with the property, the area and the view. I always dreamed of owning a condo there and during a trip to Maui in 1991 I started to seriously look for a condo. We bought our first condo in 1992. It is truly paradise.

Outstanding condo...breathtaking views...perfect combination for an amazing vacation! You couldn't ask for a better furnished, better equipped, more high end condo! It was the best! And that spectacular view - It just doesn't get any better...so hard to leave. You have thought of everything to make your beautiful home our temporary slice of heaven. I am a stickler for clean and you nailed it. Here's hoping we can return again in the future.

Loved it!

This is by far, the best vacation rental I have ever experienced. And I have stayed at quite a few. It was clean, luxurious, yet homey. The views were amazing, beds were comfortable (and I believe the second bedroom has a new king sized bed in it), and the decor was like an art gallery. Ken was great through the whole reservation process and quickly came down to take care of a minor problem we had with the shower door. I would recommend this unit to everyone! The only thing we weren't prepared for was which building (there are two at the Mahana) the unit was in, but when we gave the condo number to the woman at the desk in the lobby, she pointed us in the right direction (it's the building on the left). Thanks for everything!

Beautiful condo that is very nicely decorated and very comfortable. Great views of the turtles below, wind surfers, sting rays, etc. Very clean, very comfortable and very quiet. Close to shopping and other Maui tourist attractions. Manager and owners or very nice and very professional. We will be back!

Wonderful experience. The condo met our expectations in every way. Great location, beautiful views, spacious uniquely decorated unit and very clean. We didn't cook but it appeared to be adequately stocked if you so desire. The grounds and common areas are very well maintained. We found Ken good to work with and very accommodating. Highly Recommend this unit.

DishonestManager and Owners/filthy condo

First off I will start with commenting on the total lack of management of this condo. Once they received my money, they were no longer helpful or willing to call me back with the MAJOR concerns we had with this condo. 1.) It started fine until day 3 when we had a group of construction men bust into our condo without permission (owners lack of letting us know) the construction men said the owner/manager told them that the condo was empty. day 4 IT HAPPENED AGAIN!!!! We called the front desk to have security come up, but they refused as it is the owners problen, not Mahana's issue! I called the property manager/owner and they did nothing about it, he sounded as if he couldn't care less. 2.) the last four days of our stay was hell, when we would leave for the day on an outing we would come back to our front door wide open. First we thought it was the wind so we would make sure every time when we left that the door was secure, well everyday upon return the door was wide open, left open by maintainance that kept intruding in. I was so upset and felt unsafe that we could not wait to get out of that horrible condo. 3.) the condo was dirty upon arrival we had to go to store to purchase cleaning supplies. We had a wonderful trip to Maui, but we were very disappointed with this condo and the Owner/Manager.

Owner's Response: Here is the last email that I received from this guest. "Well it is our last day. We just wanted you to be aware of the strange behavior and childish jokes that are being played on your guests. On a better note we loved the condo and the view and we are wanting to book again next year. It was a great vacation minus the door being opened and left opened while we were out thank god our belongings were not taken as I have some very expensive camera equipment. Anyway, thank you. And we will recommend this condo as well as 1213" The first communication I received from this guest was on September 24th. She departed on September 25th. She at no time mentioned a problem with the cleanliness of the condo. How can she say I was not responsive? I had 9 email exchanges with this guest and 3 with the manager in 2 days. The door access was checked and it was not accessed more than twice to check the usage. Once a week maintenance needs access to the condo because the glass windows were replaced to increase the efficiency of the AC. This condo was the test condo so the temperature and electric usage is checked once a week. This guest also overpaid for the condo and I brought that to her attention. I ask for a $200.00 refundable deposit to hold a reservation until 60 days prior to arrival. It is then applied to the total due. She overpaid by that $200.00. I emailed her to let her know and that $200.00 was refunded immediately. She then misunderstood and thought that she also deserved the refundable deposit. I discussed this on the phone and she insisted that she was correct. She left the condo on 9/25 but didn't decide to write this review until after she hung up on me while I was explaining that the refund that she received was correct. I have rented at least 2 condos in the Mahana since 2004 and this is the first negative review I have ever received. Read my other reviews. You be the judge.

Like it should be!

The entire experience was great. Booking was simple and response was quick to any/all questions.

The condo is tastefully updated and it is obvious that significant thought has been put into having everything you will need and just about all the things you will want during your stay. As a frequent condo traveler, it was nice to have basic cooking oils/spices in the kitchen. There were beach toys (boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrella, towels) in a closet, there was even a back-scratcher which came in handy once.

The Mahana is an older property that was built before Maui changed its restrictions on building so close to the water...when I say you're only a stone's throw away from the ocean, I mean it. Hearing the waves crashing from your bed is something everyone needs to experience.

You can not have a better view for sunsets than the view from your lanai at this property.

I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone searching the west Maui area...and if you're not searching the west side of the island, you should start!
