North Georgia Mountains Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Best suited for two)

If your looking for an ADORABLE CABIN,'on the river'....easy access to Atlanta and North Georgia THIS IS IT. The DECK is literally ..on the River! Sit down and just enjoy the sound of the river or go down and take time to do a little fishing or just curl up and read a good book!

The cabin is truly great with a living room and fireplace, nice master bedroom with bath, cute kitchen with 'Wolf' stove, small dining area. Please note that the cabin has an under the counter refrigerator. Also, it has two window unit air conditioners with ceiling fans. We usually have cool nights and pleasant days in the mountains, but check all the pictures and note what is and is not available.

There is a television for DVD's with a good selection. No cable. Most guests are not coming to the mountains to watch television and the cable isn't great in this area! LOT'S of books and magazines

Location is at the end of a dead end road, only woods directly across from the river and twenty minutes to the outlet mall, if shopping is your thing.

Ten minutes to the delightful town of Dahlonega where you can shop, dine in over 20 restaurants, canoe down the river, hiking trails galore, horseback riding less than two miles. can head to downtown Dahlonega and get your Starbucks fix. Stay for a weekend or come and hang out for a week! These locations are hard to find and you will love this beautiful 'hideaway'.

'We will be back!! We absolutely loved the cabin. It has such a relaxing feeling to it that we immediately felt at home. It was wonderful being able to relax with our dogs. You have a very special place here on the river! C & Ed B Atlanta

'Charming cabin-Great location- Ooh La La - there is a 'wolf' in the kitchen. A hop & skip over to Dahlonega. How that place has changed since my youth! The Crimson Moon Cafe- yum yum. Our daughter enjoyed the General Store, something a little different for a city kid. Speaking of things she enjoyed- we had waffles every morning (your waffle maker). Too cold to enjoy the deck, but next time. Thanks Anita! ' The Franzman's

'And the heavens declare the glory' SO great to see the stars! Awesome relaxing. We loved hearing the river.' J & Deena

So glad you understand the thing about pets.'

About Anita Wheeler

I live in the area on a farm and love the North Georgia Mountains! I am a realtor specializing in unique properties. I am also a mom, gardener, writer, and social media coach. I love to cook, entertain, and decorate. (I think you will see that, at my cabin). I want my guests to feel right and home and to particularly enjoy a place of peacefulness, serenity and beauty. A place to rest and get away from the hustle and bustle of life and to 'reconnect'! I love providing a beautiful place with lot's of books, magazines, DVD's .....AND I hang the sheet's out on the line to dry (makes them feel crisp! And ...I iron the pillow cases. Okay...I know it sounds strange, but everything is so YOU have the best experience possible. (Also have a towel warmer in the bathroom!)

Why Anita Wheeler chose North Georgia Mountains

This area of Georgia is PERFECT. Only 45-60 minutes to Atlanta, yet you feel in a different world. This cabin is a JEWEL. I have been told over and over. Dead-end rode. Private. ON...the river. The deck sits on the river. I LOVED IT...the moment I saw it. If you come to

visit, you'll get the whole story. It is truly magical and will do it's magic on you!

What makes this cabin unique

Connection to nature. Peace, tranquility, PURE JOY of the art of just 'BEING'. For a few days or a week you reconnect to yourself, your partner, your kids, your pet's in a very real way. You will be only 15 minutes to the Dahlonega and convenient to hiking, horse riding, wine-tasting and shopping... You can sit on the deck and fish right off it or build a fire in the fire-pit and roast marshmellows or just enjoy sitting on the sofa and reading a book as the sounds of the river surround you! Come and enjoy the healing qualities of nature.

Great Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We wanted a long weekend away and this was all we hoped it would be....quiet, cozy and relaxing. Cabin is nicely decorated and has most anything you could need or want. Wifi worked great for us but there was no phone service which was just fine. We brought our two pups and all four of us enjoyed our stay. Thank you, Anita, for opening your cozy little cottage to us.

Magical Getaway

  • 5 of 5

No better place to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary!! Anita was fabulous to work with as we made the trip at the last minute. She was even gracious to allow us to stay late the next day as not one was coming in the next day. The cabin was exactly as described but words can't capture the charm and beautiful setting on the river. The stars and fireflies at night were magical. Everything we needed was there including sticks for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs by the fire pit. We especially loved that we could bring Taffy, our 14 year old Bichon with us, and, she even had special towels for pets. It was amazing and time was too short. We will be back.

Beautiful cabin- just not for me

  • 3 of 5

The cabin was very clean and comfortable. It sits at the end of the road and overlooks the river. A peaceful retreat was what I was seeking and I did find that peace. Unfortunately I was not able to stay the three nights like I had planned. I was unable to sleep in the bedroom because of a moldy, musty smell that seemed to be emanating from the air conditioner. I am allergic to mold and mildew and even though the filter is cleaned after every guest, the air coming through caused problems for me. So I had to leave a day early; this was not an easy decision for me since I am retired and can't afford to waste money. Sleeping with the windows and doors open was not an option since there aren't any screens.

The location is scenic. Wi-fi is fast. (Just remember to use all lower case letters for the password.) The cabin has every thing you might need. Just be prepared if you have allergies.

Owner's Response: I always encourage clients to take a look at all the aspects of the cabin before they book (i.e. there are two air-conditioners in the cabin). Allergies do not always do well with window units or cabins in some cases. The air filters are cleaned for each new guest. As a 20 year Real Estate Broker that has actually dealt with "mold", there was no mold. (I could teach a class on mold!) That said, my cabin is imperfect. It is a cabin in the woods, on the river and most everyone that stays absolutely raves about it and I hate it that this experience was not positive for you and your dogs. I am glad the other aspects of the cabin were positive for you. Thanks!

Perfect long weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend away at your cabin! It was exactly what we needed- a small, easy access cabin on the river, where we enjoyed the wildlife, river sounds and relaxation during a weekend away. The charming touches inside and out made for a cozy environment. Anita was easy to work with and we had all we needed. Thank you for sharing your home away with us!!

PERFECT Mountain Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Such a perfect mountain getaway for me and my husband! The cabin was so quaint, cozy and clean :-) We had a relaxing time fishing off the deck and listening to the river. The cabin is tucked away in the woods and very private. We definitely will be visiting again when we need a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta!
