This mid-bank oceanfront house is a perfect vacation retreat for couples wanting a romantic getaway or for families wanting an action-packed vacation. You can laze around the 12.5 meter private solar-heated pool (seasonal with new pool liner and cement in 2013), enjoy time in the hot tub (new in 2012) that is through sliding doors off the master bedroom and is available year-round, or sit on the deck and watch the cruise ships go by and the seals play in the water. Even the laziest of children are likely to agree to go for long walks on the beach in both directions as they are tempted by the variety of shells and sea creatures you will encounter. The jellyfish on the rocks and the kelp are always highlights.
For dinner, you can try the many unique restaurants in the Comox Valley, or enjoy dinner on the deck – perhaps fresh seafood you purchased from Comox's own Fisherman's Wharf (right off the boat from fisherman at the harbor) complimented by fresh vegetables from the Farmer’s Market that is a 5-minute drive (or a 10-minute bike ride) from the house. In the evening, the absence of city lights allows for magnificent star-gazing from the deck.
The inside of the split-level house has an open concept kitchen and living room with Ship’s oak flooring and the luxuries of a convection oven, gas stove, and a sub-zero fridge. You will enjoy breakfast outsdide at the patio table or inside at the coffee bar with floor-to-ceiling windows along the entire front of the house and a fabulous view of the Sunshine Coast, Texada, Denman, and Hornby Islands.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed and a large walk-in-closet. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and the third bedroom has a bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom. The den contains a 51” TV/DVD and a pull-out queen size couch. There is a large office with high-speed internet access and a printer and a games room with a ping pong table and floor-to-ceiling windows with a pool view. Carpets are brand new as of March 2016.
The house is on a very quiet street, yet is conveniently located close to the Comox International Airport and to all the amenities of the Comox Valley, designated a Cultural Capital of Canada.

About Joan Robinson
We are from Edmonton, Alberta and spent years looking at vacation properties in Alberta and BC. Then we decided to ski at Mount Washington Spring 2004 and look at real estate 'for fun'. How could we turn down this amazing property when it went on the market that spring? We hope to eventually spend much more of the year in Comox.

We think that this is one of the most desirable properties in Comox as it has a fabulous view, amazing landscaping, wonderful neighbors and an oceanfront pool.
What makes this House unique
This property is amazingly private. The neighbors across the road told us that they had lived in the neighborhood for years before they discovered that there is a pool in our yard. In the evening, the view is constantly changing as the sun goes down.

We spent at a week at this fantastic home and really enjoyed ourselves. We dined at 2 of the restaurants that were recommended to us ( The Black Fin Pub and Titos a Mexican restaurant) both were great. We checked out the farmers market and of course went to the marina and bought fresh halibut and prawns.We checked out a lot of different areas around Comox/Courteney area and it was always a joy to return to this home. The gardens are kept beautiful,and the home sits on a great quiet location great for views and walking on the beach and then soaking in the hot tub.The home itself was very clean and has everything you need.It was hard to leave and come back home. I have to say that this was one of our best getaways and I would reccomend this property to anyone. I know that we will return.
Did not want to go home
You can't get much better than oceanfront with a pool and hot tub ! Had a great time and hope to do it again next year.
Thanks for a concise review. We're doing some renos over the winter (new paint and refinishing the hardwood) to make the property even better.
Very relaxing time
We had a lovely time at the property. Beautiful setting on the beach for great sunrises.
We'd had a vry use few weeks traveling across Alberta and BC. So we were looking for a relaxing stay which we certainly got. Comox was lovely and the whole atmosphere in the area was telling us to chill. Hornby Island was a great trip and definitely worth the effort.
The house was very well appointed, kitchen was very well knitted out and with such a lovely view we ate in each night.
Joan was very responsive to any questions and we were made to feel welcome by the neighbours.
Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a family holiday stay
Excellent Beach Front Vacation
This was an excellent rental. Well appointed, great location in Comox. Close to everything. Great amenities, with plenty of rooms and bathrooms, with 2 full szie showers, great oversized kitchen with plenty to cook fantastic meals, including the grill outdoors. Did not get to enjoy the pool or hot tub (as we went in Oct) but will do so next time we go in the summer! Very responsive owner to questions related to property and then some. Would not hesitate for a minute to stay here again. We are a couple but this property could easily accomodate two couples or a family.

The stay at this amazing house was more then expected. My husband and I and my sister and her husband went away for an adults weekend away, and all I can say is WOW! I truly want to come back this summer. My kids would love this place and everything was like a dream! It is a beautiful location and the view was spectacular!
Our Christmas away from home
Our family had our family Christmas at the "beach house" as it was called by our grandchildren. The view was spectacular both in its calmest and wildest moments. There was so much room that we didn't feel crowed and we were so close to our son's home that we could visit back and forth. The home was very well stocked and very well kept. Our walk along the beach was amazing and exciting for the little ones with the treasurers they found. Thank you to our hosts for providing us with a wonderful place so that we could gather to celebrate our Christmas and 3 special birthdays and to met the newest member of our family.
We are on the beach half-way between the airport and downtown Comox. The beach in front of the house is fit for swimming, but rocky. There are sandy beaches within a 5 minute drive in either direction, or there is fabulous swimming at Miracle Beach Provincial Park (about a 25 minute drive north). The house is a 7 minute drive from Comox Harbour, where fisherman sell Today's Catch off their boats at 5PM most days, which makes for an entertaining way of obtaining your dinner to eat out on the deck. After admiring the view of Hornby and Denman Islands from the deck of the house, you may choose to do the short day trip to these islands by ferry (or by bicycle if you are very ambitious) to visit the multiple art galleries and unique shops, do some hiking, and to visit and spend time at more stunning beaches.
