One bedroom guest cottage with attached garage. Unit has four rooms: Bathroom with shower, Full kitchen, Living room, and Bedroom with King-Size bed. There is an ocean view from the Kitchen, Living room, and outside spa. Private deck and spa.
There is also a private trail to the beach with great tidepools and wildlife. There are other residences on the property. However, this is a stand alone building with no residences attached.

We wanted to be right 'on' the beach.
Fantastic views, sunsets, and watching the wildlife, especially the seals sunning themselves on the rocks, just off our beach.
We brought our 1-1/2 year old sun for his first real trip to the beach and loved having your cozy cottage as a home base. We enjoyed the Ocean World Aquarium, the beach, the lighthouses and Vista pub in Brooking. We also found some agates and thoroughly enjoyed the vista from the hot tub during both the full moon and a gorgeous sunny day. Thanks for all the extras (like the swimsuits) and the relaxed nature of our entire transaction. Hope to see you again soon.
Our three dogs and we escaped sizzling Arizona weather to cool, pleasant Oregon. We loved Ken and Jean's hospitality and the area and have already booked for the next two summers. Contrary to the Kentucky woman's review, we found the cottage clean and neat. (It's a beach cottage, not a penthouse suite). Except for food, all paper products, soaps, pans, dishes, etc. were furnished. Actually, there were quite a few condiments, spices and cooking oil on hand. Having the washing machine and dryer available was a definite plus, especially with three dogs. We enjoyed the beach, hot tub, t.v.,and numerous dvds. The dog park just down the road was great, as was the harbor where we could get fresh produce and seafood. The weather was PERFECT and it was hard to return to over 110 degree Arizona weather.
I really wish we could give this VRBO 5 stars. The owner is very kind and helpful, and the location is great. But frankly this place is very dirty. Not filthy dirty, but just "needs a good cleaning" dirty. Dust on all surfaces, crumbs in all of the drawers, hairs on the sheets, and I really wish I hadn't opened the refrigerator. I'm really not sure what happened between the last reviewer's stay and ours, but "clean" is definitely not a word you can use for this place no matter how low your standards are. Hopefully the owner will take note and hire a professional cleaning company. If it had been clean this review would have been very different
This one bedroom cottage on the coast was the perfect place to stay while in town to visit family. It was clean and comfortable, and well equipped. A short walk to the beach, and a short drive to town. Ken and Jean were super easy to connect with, and we felt that we had the privacy we wanted. We will definitely book here again for our next trip to Brookings!
We were driving north through Crescent City on our way home when we decided a spur of the moment overnighting in Brookings would be better. I called Ken around 4PM and asked if the cottage was available. We arrived shortly after and they had it all ready to go. The cottage is right next to their house but given the location it couldn't feel more private. Ken was warm and welcoming, just the host you want when staying somewhere like this. We were so happy with how accommodating he was with our last minute stay.
Right on the beach, sunsets, clean, hot tub, quiet and private. There is a reason this place and its owners retain a perfect rating. Ken and Jean, thank you for our stay. We hope to return next time we can.
We spent one night at this beautiful little cottage and wanted to stay longer. Ken and Jean made it very easy to rent their place and they were very quick to get back to us. They even unlocked the door for us by noon. Jean met us as soon as we arrived and showed us around the place and wanted to make sure we were comfortable. Ken came shortly thereafter and invited us into their home to see the beautiful view of the ocean from their living room. It was raining an we couldn't walk on the beach so we really appreciated their hospitality. This was a great find for us as we were traveling through on our vacation along the coast. This cottage is equipped with everything possible and then some. Jean even had real cream for our coffee, water, butter, and the cupboards were well equipped plus the King bed was very comfortable. It was easy to make a simple dinner there and relax. We did get to the beach after it stopped raining and that was great and the beach was easy to get to. Their place had a feeling of warmth about it and it glowed for us. Thanks again for sharing your little corner of God's earth with us. We would highly recommend this place. C and D
Came here with my husband and doggie for some much-needed down time. I agree with everyone's previous comments. A few steps to the beach. Great food in Brookings (highly recommend Zola's Pizza and Superfly!). My only suggestion for Ken is to work with Charter to have a better Internet connection. If you want to come here and have work to do on the Internet? You will only get frustrated. OH - and maybe have a coffee grinder there for the coffee snobs who bring our own beans? Other than that, it's everything you need to relax. Loved the laid-back atmosphere. Thanks Ken & Jean!
Quiet Residential area with lots of privacy. On the best 1 mile section of beach on Brookings. Near the redwoods.
