About Ryan Albrecht-Wood

We moved to Oahu on a whim almost ten years ago, and now have built our life here with a growing family to boot! The North Shore is magical, as many have found, and this is our way of sharing it. We live and breathe this gorgeous place, and are always happy to give suggestions on our favorite spots to make your stay even more special. For many visitors, Hawaii is a once in a lifetime vacation, and this is a constant reminder just how lucky we are to live here!

Ryan's home on the north shore was our home away from home in absolute paradise. Ryan makes the whole process completely seamless from check-in to check-out. She promptly returned every text or phone call. We had absolutely no issues the entire time we were there. The space is comfortable and inviting, the neighborhood is quiet, and how can you resist the beach right across the street?? Ryan's home has everything you could possibly need; from snorkeling gear to beach towels, bikes and chairs, we were never without everything we needed. Thank you so much for opening your home to us Ryan, we will definitely be back!!

Quiet and out of the way

  • 4 of 5

We had a relaxing stay in this small cottage. Hale'iwa is a seriously short drive away and Dole Plantation only 10mins, so this is a good place to be a base. This cottage is in a quiet suburban, beach bach area which gave a lovely Hawaiin vibe. As a family we appreciated the dishwasher and washer/dryer and DVD player. The great owner was prompt, clear and super friendly to deal with.

Beautiful property, nice scenery of the Pacific Ocean.

  • 5 of 5

The property was beautiful. Because of the weather, the Plumeria tree was constantly shedding leaves and flowers. I had fun raking the leaves/flowers, gave me extra out door time. The cottage was very clean and well decorated. We used the bikes, snorkel equipment, boogie boards, beach chairs and towels. The kitchen was well stocked, except for no wine glasses (no biggie). We could have used a flash light during the neighborhood power outage. Overall, a wonderful place to call home during our vacation.

Comfy cottage

  • 4 of 5

Ryan and her husband were great to work with. Very cooperative and helpful. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Nice location - perfect for what we needed and where we needed to go. Screen doors would be really nice to help improve/maximize airflow as there is no a/c. Nevertheless, Ryan and her husband were absolutely great, and the price was right.

Great North Shore Spot!

  • 5 of 5

Plumeria Cottage was a great little spot for our party of 3 (Mom and two boys) - quiet neighborhood, close beach access, appropriately stocked home. Owners Ryan and Casey are quickly responsive to any concerns. While I could see the bedrooms getting a little stuffy, the cottage is breezy and clean; the front half to a larger 3 bedroom option the owners also offer. The mattresses are quite comfortable. Bikes, an assortment of snorkeling gear and boogie boards are available for use and there wasn't anything we couldn't have cooked in the well appointed kitchen area. Only one thing really to mention - we are short people (I'm the tallest at 5'2"). The kitchen cabinets are curiously hung from the ceiling, so the little stepstool got a workout!

We would definitely return to Plumeria Cottage if the opportunity arose again - but for the difference in price I would check out the larger unit listed as Plumeria Hale.

December and January visits

  • 5 of 5

My colleagues and I were looking for a different place to stay, other than in Honolulu, while we were on Oahu for work related to our business back home in Minnesota. We heard about this place from another colleague of ours who stayed there a year prior to us, so we booked it in advance for our two trips to the island. We were there for one week in December and another 3 weeks in January. We found it to be exactly like they showed and described it. It is a well maintained cottage with all the amenities we needed while we were there. It is a very clean cottage, in a nice quiet location not far from all that we needed. I am looking forward to returning to this cottage again when we have to come back for work again at the end of the year. I give this place 5 stars. I liked it that much. It was home away from home for us.
