Beautiful, full of light and very spacious apartment in the historical centre of Lisbon.

The flat in located inside a closed villa (with 2 gates), and has a private garden (a luxury in the middle of the city ) with grass, fruit trees , BBQ and garden furniture where you can seat by the end of the day with a glass of wine feeling everywhere but in the middle of a capital. Since the gate in the garden can be locked this is the perfect space for small children to play, although there is a nice playground nearby.

The apartment is located in 'old Lisbon' and literally 5 min walk away from Alfama , the castle of San Jorge and the famous flea market 'Feira da Ladra. Also only 10 min walking distance from the National Pantheon of Santa Engracia and Lisboa's cathedral

Graca (where we are) is an area with a bohemian but also very family-orientated atmosphere that, like most of Lisbon, is very safe and in the summer you can see children up to midnight

4 bedrooms, 1 large living room, kitchen and bathroom. Kitchen fully equipped, towels and linen included. Wireless.

5-10 minutes walking distance from shops, supermarkets, restaurants and services such as banks and public transport - 28 tram, buses and taxis , etc

RENTAL DAY-, unless otherwise organised, is between 12am-12am (midday).

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURES TIMES ARE ALWAYS ASSUMED TO BE BETWEEN 8AM-6PM. Other times need to be agreed before the booking so we can organise to have someone available to meet guests out of the office hours.

IF YOU DO NOT INFORM US IN ADVANCE, we cannot guarantee to have someone available, and you might have to stay somewhere else in your first or last night.

SECURITY DEPOSIT - There are 3 options:

At arrival in exchange for the keys you can leave:

1- a passport

2- or a money deposit of £250 (it can be in a another currency as the idea is to give it back to you at the end of the rental)

Any of these are kept a few doors from the apartment if you need to leave unexpectedly, and will be returned on departure after we receive the keys back and the flat is inspected to be sure nothing was damaged.

Advantage - you are present when the flat is checked, and the whole process finishes there and then.

3- a £250 deposit is paid through the website and returned 7 days after your departure if nothing in the flat was damaged. In this option at arrival we will also need a photocopy of a passport.

Due to too many people changing their times of departure at the last minute, creating stressful situations, this is now the default option

It is also the option if you leave on the weekend, or weekdays outside of the 8am-6pm office hours slot

A private garden, the luminosity from the big windows with unrestricted views together with the large size of this apartment makes this apartment unique in this part of town.

The historical centre is a great place to stay because you can walk to many amazing monuments and places and ben downtown. There are many apartments in the old part of town but none have this perfect combination of features.

Located right in the historical centre of Lisboa, in the bohemian area of Graca this flat (within a villa so also very quiet) is literally 5 minutes walking distance from Alfama, 3 min from the castle of San Jorge or the famous flea market Feira da Ladra and right next to a variety of outside cafes and the best Lisbon's belvedere (see photos).

Because it's located in the south of the city you can get to the beach in 30 minutes by car or 45 using public transport. and you can walk to the shopping district - Baixa - in half a hour. Graca is from where the famous tram number 28 leaves

Despite its central location, and since it's inside a closed patio/villa, the apartment is quiet and safe for children

The flat has a garden, a rare luxury in the middle of the city, where you can seat by the end of the day with a glass of wine, have a BBQ or just lay on the grass. There are always birds singing in the morning making breakfast outside a great way to start the day (especially as the sun rises on the side of the garden ).

Perfect flat in perfect area of Lisbon

We (two parents and 5 children) had a wonderful stay in this very charming flat. The view is fantastic and we enjoyed the garden very much. Also, the neighbourhood is great with lots of small restaurants, shops, cafes etc. All practical arrangements with the owner went smoothly, and there were even helpfull "assistants" next door who kindly ordered taxis etc for us. Within easy walking distance (10-15 minutes) to "down-town" Lisbon, and trams just around the corner.

Highly recommended for everybody who loves Lisbon.

Spacious, charming flat in beautiful area of Lisbon

Catarina´s apartment is spacious, charming, with tasteful traditional furniture and a nice little garden. It is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Lisbon. The communication was easy, and the information given to us a few days before our stay contained all relevant details. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Highly recommendable.

Excellent location, excellent owner, ecxellent communication

I could write kilometers of praising for this vacation rental and its owner - but instead I will only say this: our group of three adults (with pretty long history of travelling together all over the world) has decided to come again next summer - and we made our booking for 2017 about two days after we had returned (better safe than sorry policy) from this great place. Thank you Brian - you saved our vacations at the point where it seemed totally ruined by a terrible rental we had to run away from right after we got there. It was well, well worth it to drive hundreds of kilometers alongside the Spanish coast to escape from hell and get to your lovely paradise! See you in August 2017!

A perfect slice of Lisbon neighbourhood life

My husband and I with our four children aged 3-14 and my mother all stayed in this apartment for a week in June 2016. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it. We plan to return to Lisbon and would not hesitate to book this place again. This was our second trip to Lisbon, and we've stayed in a number of VRBOs while in Portugal, in various neighbourhoods. Graça was a perfect slice of Lisbon life. Don't worry about the steep streets, the walk down to Martim Moniz subway station isn't too far, and it is very easy to find a taxi outside the station to take you back up the hill to the apartment, it was less than 4 Euros, cheaper and faster than our group taking the tram.

The Catholic church just up the hill has mass at 11:30 Sunday morning. There are numerous little small convenience stores nearby, and if you walk up the hill past the church and keep going, on your left will be a Mini Preço that has a good selection of groceries, but if you keep walking up the Largo da Graça (which turns into Rua la Graça, check googlemaps) you'll eventually come across a large Pingo Doce on your left which will have everything you could possibly need. There is also a tourist office with backpacks for sale plus info on tours and you can refill your subway/tram card there. If you are ok with walking, lots of things are close. If not, it's easy to grab a fast taxi or one of the "tuk tuk" little open air transports which are quite fun.

Catarina the owner was kind and helpful, she sent a lovely email with many suggestions on the neighbourhood. She always answered emails and texts very promptly and she is completely fluent in English so there are no problems with communication. The kitchen is well appointed with dishes, tea towels, wine glasses, nice little touches. There were even some pantry items provided. We ate almost all of our meals out in the little enclosed garden behind the apartment, it was beautiful weather and we enjoyed taking our morning coffee in the shade of the tree gazing at the beautiful tile mosaic on her wall.

Last but certainly not least: THE VIEW!!!!! I can't overestimate how beautiful it is, not just from the main living room and also the front bedroom, but also the short walk half a block up to the Miradouro Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen (just say Miradouro de Sophia to your taxi driver!) has a splendid panorama of the city that I promise you will spend a long time admiring! Thank you Catarina for a lovely stay!

If you do not do this you might have to stay in hotel in the 1st night if no one can be found last min to meet you
**Minimum stay 3 days.
**For security reasons, on arrival it will be requested a passport or a deposit , which will returned when the renting period finishes and after the apartment is checked to assure that all was left in the same conditions found on arrival. In the same street of the flat it is localised the office that gives assistance to the flat if anything is necessary and where the passport will always be available if anything happens.
**Bookings can not be done with more than 6 months in advance. We apologise for that.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
