The Robbinston home was a wonderful vacation for us. It was quiet and the views where beautiful. We saw seals, eagles, hawks, sea birds and of course the hard working lobster fisherman from the front window. There is stairs in the back of the property to take you to the rocky beach. The house was comfortable and homey. It was wonderful after a 12 hour drive to be able to crawl into a fresh lovely bed. We didn't need to take linens ot towels, everything except food was their for you. There is a lot to see in the area, and a lot of wonderful restaurants (the seafood and deserts are amazing!) Cell phone reception is very spotty there, but we didn't mind a bit. It was a place to relax and recharge ourselves. Kuddos to Jim and Sherry

Mainers in another world

  • 5 of 5

We are Mainers who spent a wonderful week on the coast of Maine, Great place for a family get together in a fully equipped house for seven. Beach combing is awesome. The owner is very honest. He thought we did not get a full security refund and sent a check to cover the credit card charge. We got the full refund and ripped up his check. Jim, the owner. is so thoughtful and just wants anyone that stays in his home to have a wonderful time. What more can you ask for?

A Lovely Stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week at this quant house right on the St. Croix River and had a lovely time. The house is stocked with hundreds of VHS and DVDs as well as games and puzzles. We were looking for a quiet private place on the water for our vacation away and found this little bit of Heaven. It was so peaceful and we had a beautiful daily view of St. Andrews in New Brunswick, Canada across the river as well as enjoyed the impressive high and low tides right outside. While the household plumbing was stubborn at times it was nothing compared to the fabulous time we had. Ventured to Eastport one evening for yummy lobster and spend a day in Canada. Thanks Jim for allowing us to use your home and answering any question we had along the way.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on your stay in Robbinston. And thanks for choosing to stay at our property. As for the plumbing, as it turned out there *was* indeed a problem. Something failed in a holding tank in the basement. A brand new one was installed this week. Sorry for any inconvenience during your stay but that particular item will not be a problem going forward. We're really glad you got to experience the peace and beauty of Passamaquoddy Bay. -Jim and Sherry

Perfect relaxing and natural vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

The location of this cottage was great. The owners were gracious, informative, attentive and very interested in making sure everything went well. Great to wake up in the morning and sit on swing facing ocean with a cup of coffee, do some kayaking (rent includes use of kayaks), hike out to Pulpit Rock at low tide to see the Osprey and search for sea glass, sand dollars and crabs. Close to Calais which has plenty of stores and restaurants, and also Eastport which is a very cool little town with a bunch of food, drink and art. Campobello Island was also an excellent way to spend a day. Don't expect any nightlife or flashy tourist attractions (for us this was a good thing). The cottage isn't like new, but everything was functional, and it is spacious enough for a large family. Oh...and a bonus - a nice library of movies to snuggle up with the family and watch. I introduced my kids to the brilliant John Candy :)

Fabulous vacation spot !!!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful vacation this was for my wife, myself, my son and daughter-in-law. House was perfect, just feet from the water with breathtaking views. Owners made the vacation experience comfortable and easy, supplied all we needed, offered great advice for activities locally including visit to Eastport and hike to Pulpit Rock. Peaceful and serene surroundings make this place something very special. Everything in the house was clean and comfortable. Easy drive to Calais and surrounding area and the most friendly people you could ever ask to meet. Close to St. Stephens, NB and other little towns that are definitely worth visiting. Great places to eat in Calais, just minutes away. Our hike to Pulpit Rock was worth the whole trip to Maine as we saw the ospreys in the nest atop the rock, checked out the caves and saw live sand dollars, crabs, and more. Watched seals from living room windows on several days. Experienced a variety of weather from light rain and fog rolling in to bright, beautiful sunny days.

Owners are very helpful and keep in touch with you to make sure you have everything you need. This was the best vacation we have ever had and this beautiful place by the ocean made it all come true. Many thanks to the owners. Highly recommend this place to anyone !!!
