This top floor condo is spacious with open beam ceilings and an ocean view. It is located in the center of Kailua Kona. You can walk to the pier, to restaurants, shopping, even the bank and the grocery store are nearby. The condo has two bedrooms with California King beds, and two full bathrooms. There is also a full size futon in the living room. You can cook your meals in the full kitchen, and eat on the sunny lanai looking at the ocean. Wifi is included as well as an in unit washer and dryer.

This unit is tucked back off the main street, so it is also quiet. Save the money and the hassle on the rental car and parking, and stay in this convenient location.

Kailua Bay Resort is in the ideal location. It's quiet, yet at the same time it is centrally located so you don't need a car, all the activities are just steps away. If you want to go out and have cocktails, you don't have to worry about driving, just walk home. The pier and the beach are a short walk, as well as the grocery store and even the post office is right there.

Great location and amenities

The condo was well stocked with beach supplies which we really appreciated. Everything was clean and we were happy to have a washer/dryer to use for our swimsuits and beach towels. Would stay there again.

Good location if you don't want to drive

Erika's condo is good place to stay. It comes well equipped with a very good bed. The area is quiet and well located within walking distance of Alii street that goes along the coastline where there are some good restaurants and shops. A grocery store is just up the hill from the condo.

This would be good for two couples as there is a loft with its own full bathroom upstairs.

The condo is on the third floor and there is no elevator so if you find stairs a problem it is not the best. Also the condo is up a fair hill from Kuakini Hwy.

Great Place Convenient Location

It was a pleasure dealing with Erika. She was responsive and informative even before we arrived on the Big Island. The place was clean and had everything we needed. With 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, it was the perfect size for our family of four.

The condo is conveniently located right in the heart of Kona. We were able to take day trips to Mauna Kea, Volcano National Park, Hilo and the beaches.

Check out was smooth and Erika processed the refund for the deposit quickly.

Clean and Good Location

Location is in a very conveintent if wanting to be in Kona.Good access to main highway. Condo is clean and the unit comes with a covered parking space. Great communication with the owners.

Nice condo but loft not very comfortable

I have mixed feelings about this condo. On the one hand, there a lot of good things to say about it. It is clean, spacious, with plenty of supplies. The location is close to everything, yet reasonably quiet. On the other hand, the loft was not very comfortable and I barely got any sleep in there.

The biggest problem was the heat. When we got there, it was probably 90 degrees. So the note saying:" Please use A/C sparingly if at all" seemed to be a little out of touch. There were two A/Cs available: one in the bedroom, and another in the living room. Neither provided any cooling for the loft. Also, A/C was pretty noisy, so we could not keep it on during the night. The other problem was abundant light. There are few windows pretty high up that do not have any curtains or shades so I'd wake up at 6am. as soon as sun was out.

The other couple staying in the bedroom had better experience, although they complained a bit about the noise from outside.

We didn't get to use a pool, but it looked kind of small. Kitchen had abundant supplies, but there's no dishwasher.

Overall, it's a nice condo, and definitely great for 1 couple (but then kind of expensive). Otherwise, I wouldn't stay here again, unless the owners provide a better way to cool the loft.

Owner's Response: You can't please everyone all the time. It's true, if you want a dark cave, my place is not the one for you. It has open beam ceilings with a loft bedroom and large windows. It does get warm in the middle of the day in the loft bedroom, but most people don't come to Hawaii to spend their days inside. Electricity is four times as expensive in Hawaii as on the mainland, so yes, I ask that my guests are conscientious with electricity usage. I try to keep the rates low, good luck staying in a hotel for even close to what you would pay to stay in a fully stocked condo with plenty of extras. Free parking, free wifi, in unit washer and dryer, full kitchen. To each his own.

This roomy condo is located in the heart of Kailua Kona. A two minute walk to the Ironman finish line, you can't stay in a more convenient location. Save money and forget about the rental car. Located on Kuakini Hwy, one street up from Alii drive, so it is nice and quiet yet in the center of Kailua Kona. Walk to the pier, restaurants, bars, shopping, the beach, the ocean, even the grocery store, post office and bank are within minutes.

Notes:
Much more comfortable than a hotel, and a much better bargain as well. Free parking. This condo complex is mostly occupied by long term renters and owners with a few vacation rentals. It is a desirable location for all who want to be in Kona.
