About Maja Siska
Originally german, I have lived here in Iceland since 2000 with my Icelandic husband, icelandic dog, chickens, sheep and horses! We love our home and we enjoy sharing our knowledge and experiences of Iceland and our area with you. Originally I came here because of horse riding and today I feel at least as icelandic as anything else! I am looking forward to welcoming you in the country I chose to be my home! We have 2 more cottages for rent under nr. 535515.
Maja Siska purchased this House in 2013
Why Maja Siska chose Rangárþing ytra
These very cosy summer cottages are a beautiful country hide away with Icelandic flair! Also a great location in the South of Iceland; within easy reach of great day trips and excursions, in summer even into the highlands. And very practical: 80km from Reykjavik and with the little traffic it is always an experience to drive over the scenic pass Hellisheidi to go to town:) The cottages are about 4 km from our farm and we gladly assist you during your stay if you wish.

Perfect location for watching for Aurora. Great place to see southern Iceland. Cozy! More local feel.
Beautiful, quiet and secluded Icelandic cabin
Loved our stay at Sel. A little off the beaten path and so worth it.. did some great day trips to the golden circle and back to make some delicious dinners and enjoy the evening (didn't see the northern lights this time but a most memorable night sky). Would highly recommend this cozy homeaway from home.
Iceland Perfection on All Levels.
Let me first rate our host Maja.
Maja is everything we want in a VRBO host. Prior to travel she was great with info and answering random questions. Upon arrival she came to say hello and offer any assistance we might need. During our trip she responded to emails within 10 minutes every time. Her advice was perfect and we enjoyed all restaurants and sites she shared.
Second, Sel cottage. This is the perfect tiny house. I can’t imagine better for two adults. It is very well appointed and scrupulously clean. 25 minutes from Selfoss in a rural area where we saw stars and the northern lights. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen fully functional. Tiny bath but worked fine. If it had a hot tub and king bed we could stay forever!
Thank you Maja. We loved Iceland and Sel and hope to return again.
Great location short drive to all the attractions. The cabin was very clean and comfortable.
The cabin was very comfortable and clean. Easy access to all the attractions. Im looking forward to staying here again. Excellent experience!
Just do it!!!
You won't regret booking this cabin! We had a wonderful stay at Sel. It was comfortable and cozy. Maja was wonderful and even warned us about a winter storm that was approaching. Do not hesitate to book this cute cabin!
Great place and ideal to stay while visiting the golden circle.
Maja's cabin is located in a beautiful spot in the golden circle area. The cabin is small, comfortable and well equipped. Maja's was a great host and tried to make our days the best possible in poor weather conditions. Our family enjoyed Maja's suggestions and had a great time. Thank you.
The cottages are located near a lake on lots with many busches and trees, sheltered and private, 14km from the main ring road nr.1.
