This airy and comfortable cottage was family-built, and is family-owned. This cottage is child-friendly. Special features include a large deck. Washer and dryer available!
Our home is very conveniently located, just a ten to fifteen-minute walk to the beach on Nantucket Sound and a 15-minute drive to Bay side beaches. Many shopping and restaurant choices are nearby.
The cottage is on a quiet lane and just a short walk to the general store, several restaurants, and the beach.
I grew up in Shrewsbury, MA as the youngest of seven children. I graduated from Shrewsbury HS and later Worcester State University.
I have been in the Travel Business since the month I graduated college! I worked 5 years as a Flight Attendant and 4 years as an In-flight Training Instructor. I met my husband, Mark, in a hotel lobby in Germany. He was from NJ! lol. After we married, I moved to Maryland (just outside of DC), close to where Mark's work is. I worked at Dulles Airport for several years and then switched over to the cruise business. I recently took early retirement, after 22 years, from Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. And now.....I own a travel franchise which is an American Express affiliate. I LOVE to travel and I LOVE to assist others in fulfilling their dream trips; whether on land or sea.
Mark is an Economist and will retire in a few short years. He will then join me in the business.
We have 3 amazing children, 22, 26, and 26. They joined our family through adoption. We have fully open adoptions and they have many many family members!
We are happy to answer any questions you may have!
My Dad, Grandfather, and Uncle built our cottage. My Grandfather was a carpenter, my Dad- a machinist and carpenter, and my Uncle- a Master Cabinet Maker. A lot of sweat and love went into building it. My 4 brothers helped as well. As a child, we all spent time there, creating awesome memories. Now, our children are having the same experiences (and more) than the seven of us did. The name "Grammy's Beach House" came from my children. They called my Mom's year round home, "Grammy's White House" and the cottage "Grammy's Beach House".
Our family wishes you the same memorable stays at "Grammy's" that our family has enjoyed for almost 3 generations!
My father passed when I was 20 and my Mom in 2000. At the time, my 6 siblings were not interested in purchasing the cottage. I had always wanted to.
The cottage and property are rich in memories for us. 4 generations of Sampson's have enjoyed and still enjoy this cozy home.
We wanted to explore many areas of the Cape so staying in this central area worked out very well for us. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 which included our 2 adult children and one teenager. They enjoyed being able to walk to the store and 2 restaurants. They loved The Dog House! Glendon Road Beach was a quick 10 minute walk from the rental. The shed was filled with beach stuff and was handy for storing the 2 bikes we brought with us. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we enjoyed the back porch. We felt comfortable at Grammy's Beach House and the owner was very nice to work with. Thank you for helping to contribute to a great Cape Cod vacation!
I would like to thank you for the cottage. We had a wonderful week and had a lot of pleasure discovering your world. The kids were so excited about the beach. My 17 month old son had a great time running in the cottage and in the backyard. Your cottage is clean and very pleasant to look at.
It was exactly how you describe it on the Internet. Do not be surprised if you received email from people in Québec about you cottage, because we will talk about it to our friends.
You will probably hear from us again in the future.
P.S Sorry for the English, my mother tongue is French.
My husband and I had a great time at this house. It is convenient for side trips to towns on the Cape and only a short distance to get to the bike trail. There are casual eateries within walking distance and other restaurants only a short drive away. If you don't mind a short bike ride or 4 block walk to the beach you can enjoy the ocean and not pay to park. The house itself was very clean and ready with plate, cups, etc...which we didn't use much as we dined out most evenings! The neighborhood was very quiet .The yard would work great if you had kids.We enjoyed sitting out on the new back porch. Thanks for sharing your home.
***Please note: Capacity for this cottage is 6 persons!***
*** Minimum Rental Time is ONE WEEK.*** SATURDAY IS THE CHANGE-OVER DAY**
Our cottage is located in Dennisport which is in the Mid-Cape area. It is abutted by Harwich, West Dennis, and Yarmouth. There are many beautiful beaches as well as numerous opportunities for other activities; live theatres, museums, golf courses, bike paths, etc.
We wake up in the morning to the birds singing. The kids take-off for the country store a 2 minute walk away to buy the newspaper and , of course, donuts. We are off to Provincetown today to go on a whale watching ship....ahhhh...
'Grammy's' was built by Linda's Dad, Uncle, and Grandpa and has been in the family since. The new outside deck is fabulous!
We would love to tell you more- please give us a call!
