Why jill chose Hamptons

More exclusive & private than some other properties: only homeowners or our guests can access our stretch of beach - there are only private (no public) walkways. Not close to Cupsogue public beach (with its public-access crowds, congestion, and long traffic lines to the entrance), like homes in the 800 & 900 blocks. Not close to any of the smaller public beaches stop signs, intersections, or overhead wires, either !

Location is spectacular, on the Oceanfront side of Dune Road, with sweeping Ocean & Bay views. Living room on 2nd floor is a subtle but huge plus; views are well above the level of the sand dunes, unlike some properties with 1st floor living rooms where you cant see the Ocean. Several empty lots directly across from us on the Bay side, instead of a cluster of dense streets like on some parts of Dune Road. Dual master bedroom & bath suites are a unique amenity for entertaining friends & family. Elegant and practical Belgian block driveways keep sand and gravel off your feet. Garage also offers indoor parking for 2 more cars.

The owner Jill was great and very helpful, so was her house manager! I need a very clean environment , and this house did not disappoint ! The views are excellent, we took some outstanding pictures from the outdoor deck over looking the water.The showers are great , we nick named them " the car wash". This home would make a great vacation for anyone !

Great house for groups/families

The house is great -- just look at the photos! -- proximity to the beach was great for morning walks/jogs; Also, the renter (Jill) and her property manager (Vinny) are both very good to work with! Both prompt and thorough in responses -- and Vinny went above and beyond for our group; he stayed at the house to wait for our grocery delivery (which arrived before we did) and he even went ahead and put everything away, so we arrived to a stocked fridge to start our weekend. Just amazing -- I recommend this house!

Where do I start? We had a group of 13-17 girls for a giant sleepover bachelorette weekend. Double water views- ocean and bay, are breathtaking and makes it feel like the ultimate beach house. Natural light flooding the house. Almost every room has its own bathroom (perfect for everyone getting ready at once). 2 masters with outstanding bathrooms and comfy beds. Open living/dining/kitchen area perfect for big group entertaining. The kitchen was awesome and we had a chef come in one night! Everything is labeled which came in handy! Hot tub and towels. And easy washer/dryers. We could tell they had chairs and lounges for the summer time when they open the pool. Deck space for days to enjoy the view. No need to bring anything for the kitchen it is all there! Including 2 dishwashers. And not to mention the wifi came in handy. Everyone was in awe with the house and didn't want to leave!! Jill has been great and available from day 1 of booking! And the property manager was helpful as well. We will be back, and telling everyone!

Great NYE getaway, even with a hiccup or two.

The property manager, was great. I loved the kitchen There was PLENTY of room to cook. The house was spotless, open, and soothing. At each turn, there was a view of the beach.

There were also some not-so-great parts of my experience. There were plenty towels, but no wash cloths (face towels), which we are accustomed to using in the shower. We were all forced to use hand towels, which were in shorter supply. This was my fault, as I assumed that they would be provided since the towels were. Read the amenities section very carefully—what you see is what you get. There was no soap, shampoo, or the like provided, as there would be in a hotel. There was plenty in the way of dish soap, dishwasher gel packets, and paper towels though. The stereo on the first floor linked to speakers throughout the entire house, and each room had a control panel. The stereo's ipod dock overrode the playlist settings on the ipods, forcing one to visit the panel every time an unwanted song played. The panels also overrode each other and confuse the stereo. Music played in a bedroom could not be shared with those who wanted to hear in the living room, because pressing buttons on the living room panel would shut everything off, necessitating a system reset. The stereo also didn’t accommodate music from laptops/ipads. It was clear the owner/manager knew the system wasnt user friendly, as there were instructions (and even warnings) written on tape above each component of the system, and above the panel in each room. This helped, but very little.

Though it was very nice of the owner to extend use of the hot tub to us in the off season, it was ultimately used to blood-let my security deposit. After we left, I was told the water was low and dirty, and had to be drained and cleaned after our departure. This should be normal procedure for a hot tub in a rented house. Anything less would be disgusting. What pained me the most about this, was that I discussed the same with Danielle as soon as the tub had been used.I was told I could leave it as it was, and the maintenance company would take care of it during their weekly scheduled visit. If weekly scheduled maintenance is performed, there was no need to tap into my security. A chipped sconce was also mentioned to justify keeping more than a quarter of my security. This was false. My advice: assess damage on arrival. Document with photos. Danielle and Jill were very nice, but that wasn't worth the extra money.

Owner's Response: this tenant's review is a classic case of Sour Grapes by someone who mistreated our gorgeous property then felt she had a risk-free remedy in posting a misleading review as retribution for our holding back a modest portion of security. she and her guests left the property in unspeakable condition; the details cannot be mentioned in this forum. despite her anger at not being given a 100% security refund, it is telling that she still gives a hearty thumbs up to so many elements of her stay. to address the specifics: there is no shortage of hand towels as our property manager can attest to. she wound up having way more guests than she alluded to. she also told us she would be having one extra bed delivered, but in fact 4 were found by our manager. the stereo is a very high end professionally installed housewide state of the art system and the capabilities of such an audiophile system can be at times confusing, though we endeavor to make every single amenity user friendly with tastefully applied printed labels. i have never had a problem with ipod playlists being overwritten as she claims. we uniformly are able to share music inputs in multiple zones; each zone can choose amongst 6 or 7 shared inputs. it is not a standard feature of even the highest end professional systems i am familiar with to have laptop or ipad music inputs; this is an unrealistic demand. our extending the use of the hot tub into off season was paid back by leaving it poorly filled with debris and literally black water, according to our property manager who has zero vested interest in magnifying any such issues. her claim that all would be fine if we serviced the spa properly is misleading and utterly false, and serves to mask her appalling treatment of our beautiful, nearly new nordic hot tubs spa: it Is serviced weekly professionally by a local pool company, and a complete drain and fill weekly is Not the industry standard. it Was performed to remedy the atrocious condition she returned it to us. another falsehood she posted is denying her party badly chipped a bathroom sconce; i just finished repairing it ! she implies the home is damaged on arrival; another misleading statement intended to mask her conduct. the tenant and her large party had a blowout new years eve but she was intent on spoiling the party with an unkind and unnecessary review, just because a nominal amount was detected from security...nonetheless she still complimented us several times!

The house was absolutely fabulous. The pictures do not even do it justice. The whole time we were there we were planning our next trip there. It was such a pleasure dealing with the owner Jill and the house manager Danielle. They were both amazing!! I recommend this place to everyone as a perfect getaway!
