They can play in the snow on the large deck, or even create a sled hill on the side of the house. In the summer, you can bring your boat or jet skis and tie it up to the pier. Have more than one boat? Tie up the boat on our buoy located just out from the pier.

There are many trails nearby where you can take a hike, or even go for a horseback ride. Fishing is great on Donner, you can catch a couple off of the dock each day by just throwing out a line with a worm or some power bait, you can even use a lure from shore. For all who love to gamble, Reno is just a half hour away where there are many casinos. Many golf attractions are nearby as well. For those who are just looking for a quiet getaway, you can make a nice fire in one of the outside chimneys or in the expansive fire place inside. Don't forget about heating up the hot tub and sitting in the snow or in the sun.

* Rooms are seperated from each other to limit noise

About The Owner

The owners are a husband and wife with family who love the Truckee and Donner Lake area.

The Owner purchased this house in 2005

Why The Owner chose Lake Tahoe North Shore

We bought this wonderful property based upon it being on the lake and on the sunny side of Donner Lake. The sunny side of Donner Lake also provides easier access during the winter months.

What makes this house unique

Sitting out on large deck enjoying the scenery, wildlife, quiet times, boating and swimming in the clear clean lake. There is a professionally cleaned hot tub located in the same large deck that is situated to enjoy the lake while still maintaining privacy.

Great place to enjoy the lake with family and friends!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great place to stay right on the lake. We have a tradition of trying new places with our friends over Labor Day weekend and we all said that this place could definitely be a repeat trip! The only downside is it is right next door to a lodge and the people over there were not very friendly! But we didn't let that ruin our stay and this wonderful house. Thanks Dan!

Great Lakefront Property

  • 4 of 5

This is the second time we have stayed here. The location is great and so is the set up of this house. The back yard is wonderful with multiple decks, hot tub, dock, BBQ, everything you would need short of a boat. The back yard is completely fenced in and is great for kids and pets. The water level was much higher than the last time we stayed here two years ago.

If I had to point out any negatives I would say that the deck is old and in need of some repair and the living room furniture is pretty dirty and beat up. Maybe time for an upgrade. But all said I would come back again.

A great family place

  • 5 of 5

Right on the lake with delicious crawfish teaming under the pier, this is an ideal family get-away. Comfortable and spacious but not pretentious. It's a place where you can truly relax.

Perfect Annual Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

I come from a huge family-11 brothers and five sisters. For over 25+ years we have planned our Annual Dads & sons camping trip. My Dad is getting up there in age now and we were seeking a new site that could provide a bit of luxury while still offering plenty for the brothers who value the outdoors (fishing, bonding over the fire pit, close to the water and of course, spectacular views). This lakefront property had it all! What I enjoyed a great deal as well was the attention and effort to furnish the house in a way that provides comfort but still maintain a genuine down-to-earth feel. There are many other vacation homes available along this lake but the others were either too "posh" or lost the cabin-home-like feel to the point you'd be nervous living in it. This cabin offered everything from consistent wifi access, personal dock to tie the boat, a couple of decks with gorgeous views, plenty of outdoors chairs, benches and umbrellas, and a welcoming hot tub to sooth the bones after a long day on the lake. The cabin sits directly off the main street but this had no negative effect on our visit because we spent the majority of time on the lake or secluded in our back deck areas with no need to bother with the front (except to head to town or another nearby stream/lake which then made it convenient for easy access). Absolutely loved this cabin and Dan, the owner, was just as down-to-earth. It was obvious he has a love for the beautiful environment and offered a cabin that truly captures the fabulous beauty and peace on this lake. Dan was easy and dependable when securing the desired week . Even offered a refund when a part on the hot tub unexpectedly failed. Not only this, but he sent over a maintenance person that fixed it within a day. Great place, great owner and will absolutely return!

Amazing views!! Excellent location.

  • 5 of 5

This property is perfectly set up for a couple of families to enjoy together. It's clean, and comfortable. They have everything you need for a nice getaway. Just pack your clothes and run to town for food; excellent views from the BBQ on the deck, and that deck has a gate so toddlers cannot escape downstairs. We had a great time, will definitely be returning!
