Awesome scenery from highest cabin on Michigan Hill

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,180 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

2br, 2bath Mountain Cabin 45 Minutes Outside Of Breckenridge

Come and enjoy awesome views of the Rocky Mountains. Pikes Peak can be seen 60 miles away. 20 miles to the north is Mt. Evans which has the highest road in the USA. A must do!!

Our cabin sits at 10,000 feet on top of Michigan Hill in a quiet, peaceful setting. Elk and mule deer can be seen in the yard at times. There are lots of birds and other small wildlife. Pike National Forest is only three miles away with unlimited fun for all.The Colorado Trail is only 2 miles from the front porch for day hiking or using the house as a base. The Inner mountain trail is part of a 400 mile moderately difficult system

It's just 45 minutes to Breckenridge, 1 hours to Denver, and 1.75 hours to Colorado Springs. The 4 WHEELING is also unreal with an untold number of miles of trails in the mountains. You have to see this place to believe it.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of crowds and the city, this is the place for you!

HIGHLIGHTS: Watching the mountains, hiking, skiing, 4 wheeling, fishing, wildlife viewing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Before we rented I really wondered if this cabin was going to have incredible mountain views? WOW!! That was an understatement! If I were an owl my head would have been spinning! Lots of wild life, deer, rabbits, birds, and we found some bear tracks in road! This is a quiet location, very little traffic and at night the stars will hang over your head! When you stand out on the sky deck its like you're on top of the world. This is one of the most breath taking valleys we have ever seen! When you come over the Kenosha Pass from the east end of the valley on 285, be prepared for your mouth to drop open and you don't know where to look first!! We would return to this cabin in a heart beat. The owners where very helpful and feel like we can call them friends after staying in their cabin.

Amazing views! Great location. Well equipped

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here a few years ago and we're so pleased to be able to stay again. This cabin is in one of the most beautiful spots. The views are to die for. It is equipped with anything that you need for a fun and comfortable weekend or week or more.

The house was perfect ! Had everything that we needed and then more. Slept great and had three rocker recliners and a reclining couch. The elk heard visited us every evening even saw a white buffalo! hope to return one day, the only thing I needed was more time there!

Beautiful views from a contemporary cabin

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our summertime stay on Michigan Hill! The views of the plains to the South and the mountains to the West are beautiful and change throughout the day. Weather was cool with intermittent rain showers rolling in from the mountains. Although a couple of neighboring cabins are visible, we never actually saw anyone and it was very private. Kitchen was reasonably stocked with cookware and service for six and even included some tea and coffees, oils and vinegars, and spices. The owners provided maps of the area. We enjoyed hiking to the Georgia Pass from the Jefferson creek area. New WiFi worked well enough for us to get cell calls and SMS. It was a great value and a restful time.

Great Cabin, wonderful views, peace and quiet!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time. We found the cabin spacious, well decorated, and perfect for our trip. We saw wildlife nearly every day, including 9 elk standing the lower field one morning. The beds were comfortable, space was amble, and decor enjoyable. We loved the views from the deck and the secluded atmosphere. We traveled to Denver, Colorado Springs, and several other places and found the location convenient and centrally located to everything. The owner was very nice and acommodating. We had cell signal and the wifi worked great. We had plenty of space in the kitchen and dining areas for breakfasts and dinners. The wrap around lower deck and upstairs deck were perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. I would recommend this rental to anyone traveling to this area and we would definitely stay again!.

Amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay! The expansive views of South Park can't be beat. The home was clean and had everything we needed to get away from it all. There were many extras like a well-stocked bookshelf, movies, and puzzles, which we enjoyed. The beds were plenty comfortable too.

Amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

We went for a long weekend and had a very relaxing time. Jefferson Lake and many hiking trails are nearby, but we spent a lot of time just hanging out on the deck looking at the view and watching wildlife. The house is comfortable and stocked with everything you would need- just bring your own food! I would recommend an AWD if you go in the winter- the driveway is short, but up a steep hill and around a curve. We would definitely go back to stay again in the future.
