Why Thomas Seiz chose Akureyri
The house was built to offer larger families or two couples a comfortable stay in Northern Iceland.
What makes this House unique
The house is ideal for Northern light photographers. It has room high windows to the North and the West and there is no ambient light.

Place was awesome
The only comment I have is privacy in bathroom windows. A little suggestion would be to add a hammock 😉

Majestic views from Nollur
We stayed for a week at this exquisite property and enjoyed beautiful constantly changing panoramic views of the fjord. The house was marvelous and we enjoyed staying in a house with a turf roof and soaking in a hot pot after long hikes. It doesn't get any better than Nollur. Every detail was excellent, and we are already planning our return. The bird life, views of porpoises each day, landscape of mountains made our stay unforgettable. We read other reviews saying that they wished they had more time, so we booked for a week and were not sorry! We did plan a day or so to just enjoy the views and it was delightful. No need for Myvatn or Geosea if you stay at Nollur!!
Thank you so much for this feedback. You are always welcome back!
Pictures do not do it justice!
We are an American family from the NYC metro area. We stayed at this fantastic property for 4 nights as part of our Iceland vacation. The property was one of the highlights of our trip, and the views from the property (which indeed is right on the water) are even more stunning than the photos. The kitchen is well stocked with modern appliances and we cooked several meals. The set up is that the unit is one of several in an isolated development about 25 minutes north of Akureyri. It's a great location, especially if you plan on visiting Husavik or Myvatin (in that general direction). I would say that if you don't plan on cooking dinners that it might be a hassle to constantly drive back to Akureyri, so I would recommend purchasing groceries on the way there. The communication with the owner was excellent, and he provided a 30 page guide to the unit and the surrounding area. We used the hot tub every night, and it was very enjoyable and well maintained. The only issue we had was that there is no freezer- which I imagine is not an issue most of the year, but please note that for your groceries.
Overall, a great trip and property, and we would definitely plan to stay again.
Midsummer in Eyjafjörður
We have returned for the third time to Nollur and Kaldbakur. The previous times were in Winter so it was nice to experience the summer around Akureyri. The location and facilities are excellent and it is hard to beat sitting watching the evening sun from the hot tub after a days hiking.
This was an absolutely wonderful property. It was a perfect place for our family of five. Very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything for us to make our own meals. We loved the views and everything about the place.
Unique panoramic surroundings with full view from Akureyri to the open sea.
30 kilometers to Akureyri (airport, shopping mall, hot springs, hospital, museum, concerts) and 8 kilometers to Grenivik (shop, gas station, museum, golf course, horse farm)
Horseback riding: Near the house there is the horse farm 'Polarhestar' with more than 100 horses. You can rent them for a few hours or take part in a longer ride in the nearby valleys.
Golf: There is a small 9-holes golf course in Grenivik 8 kilometers to the north.
Skiing: In winter, rides to the nearby Kaldbakkur with a big snowmobile are available. In Akureyri there is a classical skiing area with lifts and illuminated slopes.
