Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank-you Thanl-you Thank-you! Everything was perfect. You have thought of EVERYTHING to make anyone feel right aat home in "your" home! I had planned on unpacking and going straight to the store to pick up "necessities" - but you had everything we needed already here. The kids were so excited about the "stocked" fridge in the game room! We used the bon fire, the hot tub, and the game room! I couldn't believe you even had a GPS for us to use. (I could have left mine at home) We even had our family come out to visit one day - we were so proud to show off your beautiful home! We especially enjoyed sitting on the front deck in the sunshine. I was so lucky to find your house to rent. Thank you so much for sharing it with our family - I am SO happy we did not end up at a hotel! It was perfect!

Our second visit...

  • 5 of 5

We have returned to Portland and were happy to find the 1908 House available for our use. Thanks again for a wonderful place to make a "base" camp for our Norther adventures. Once again it was stocked to the hilt with all that we could possibly think of. We love your kitchen and the fact that you have included all we need to prepare our meals at the house. And what a great BBQ! We sat by the firepit in the rain! It was just too nice.

See you again in the Spring.

Perfect HomeAwayFromHome for our Family Reunion!

  • 5 of 5

We have four local PDX families and three families that live out of state, so this was the perfect hub for our gang. We had something for everyone. Lisa equips the home with just enough familiar items and odds and ends to make it feel like you are able to relax.

Thank you, Lisa, for helping us to unite our loved ones. The 1908 House was very special. My husband celebrated his 60th and our grandson his 6th (on the same day). We also managed to schedule the solar eclipse while we were there (I had to do something extra special for his 60th!).

When we returned from our adventures, we felt that 'ahhh' that you feel when you are coming home. Thank you! We will be back!

Fantastic Place, the 1908 House in Oregon City

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the 1908 House in Oregon City in early August 2017! The home is centrally located in Oregon City, with easy access to area shopping facilities, grocery stores, and restaurants (especially Mike’s Drive-In, across the street from the back yard). The home had ample room for our whole family; it had everything indicated in the Home Away description, more than we ever could have expected. In addition to modern kitchen appliances, 2 large outdoor barbeque grills and a comfortable hot tub, we were astounded at the game room in the basement, including air hockey, foosball, and two electronic arcade games. We used the home as a base for travels to the coast, to Mt Hood and Trillium Lake, and to Multnomah falls and Silver Falls state park. But even in case of rainy weather (as we’re used to in Oregon City from Sept thru April), there’s still lots to enjoy if a family spends time indoors because of the wealth of books, videos and CDs. We highly recommend this house to anyone who may be hoping to spend a week or more in the area.

Fantastic Property for all ages!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough great things about this property. So many places for people of all ages to relax or play! The backyard is so enjoyable, especially with the twinkle lights---I didn't want to go to sleep! The property has plenty of room to give everyone space to retreat and take a break from the group festivities if needed. The house was stocked very very well!. Lisa is an amazing communicator and very responsive to all inquires. I don't have anything bad to say about it!

Pleasant Experience

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful house for several families together. It was fun experiencing an older home with all its charm. What stood out for me was the closed in front porch, down stairs gathering room (very cozy and fun), squeaky upstairs floors (no sneaking in late), beautiful tub upstairs, spacious bathroom downstairs (my favorite), a nice roomy bathroom on the main floor too, well stocked kitchen and bathrooms, recycling well labeled, jacuzzi available (we didn't use), super comfortable backyard (love the outdoor kitchen even though we used the front bbq), and walking distance to Dutch Bros., but better yet Singer Hill Cafe. We loved our stay!
