ABQ Vacation Homes are 'true' vacation homes!: We started renting vacation homes for our own use 18 years ago while on vacation in California. We were hooked the first day we arrived. It is so relaxing to go to the store and get your own food, wine/beer and come back and cook with our friends/family rather than waiting in a hotel room and then driving to go sit down and wait again at a restaurant. For the family price of one good meal at a decent restaurant you can buy groceries and beverages for a week and enjoy your company much more in a private setting. Afterwards you can relax in a hot tub and enjoy your glass of wine and laugh with your friends. Once you book a 'true' vacation rental you will never want to stay in a hotel again. What I mean by 'true' is a house that is set up for vacationers. A big kitchen that is well appointed, comfortable bedroom settings, multiple showers, quality linens, games and activities on site, a good movie room, outside activities, a cozy fireplace, outdoor furniture and the best host in the business!
Hot Tubs and Pools and Games OH MY!: After a day of exploring the Ice Caves in El Malpais or climbing the old wooden ladders up to the cliff dwelling homes in Bandelier or flying around the city in a hot air balloon your body needs comfort and relaxation! Be sure to bring your swim clothes and relax in a soothing hot tub to work out those kinks and strains. Sure you can use a hot tub at local hotel but do you really want to share it with all those strangers? If you get too warm jump into the refreshing swimming pool and swim a few laps to burn off that dessert you just couldn't pass up or lay on the lounger and get a little tan. Why settle for anything less? Sure there are homes that are newer or less expensive but will they create the perfect vacation memories for your group? Our homes are 'true' vacation homes which are ready for your group to drop their luggage and start having fun!
Location, Location, Location!: The Game Room house, located in Siesta Hills, is close to Kirtland Airforce Base, Sandia Labs, NM EXPO (state fairgrounds) and just up the street from the airport. Quick access to both freeways makes for a great location!
Thanks and hope you have a great trip to Albuquerque! Jim

Why Jim Summers - Albuquerque chose Siesta Hills
We started renting vacation homes from other owners about 15 years ago in Bodega Bay, CA and have been hooked ever since. The amount of money we saved by cooking at the rental home and spending fun time with our family and friends was so much better than sitting in a hotel room waiting for the others to get ready and at the restaurant. I love cooking together, playing games and having drinks in the hot tub afterwards. Try it and I believe you will too! We started renting our former residence (The Pool House) and realized families and groups needed 'big' houses with on-site activities here in ABQ. I found the Game Room house which needed an extensive remodel and thought the location would be great for Albuquerque. $80,000 later it was done and being rented out. I was advised the only thing missing was a swimming pool. Well...May 1st 2010 we will open a large (13 x 21)above ground 'Splash Pool'. It is close to the airport, NM EXPO (state fairgrounds new name), Convention Center, Downtown, Nob Hill, both freeways, golf locations and much more. Boy were we right on the location and activities! Read our reviews and they will tell the truth.

Large house, lots of space for family and great stay!
The house is large, has lots of things for family to do while we were in the house keeping kids busy, well stocked for cooking, they set up extra beds for us, very comfortable and would stay again.
Thanks for the great review and for staying with us at the Game Room House. If your group ever comes back this way keep us in mind!
Wonderful family home
Shared the home with daughters' families, including grandchildren ages 11 to 17. Perfect spot with pool table, air hockey, hot tub, just to name a few. Jim even provided a live Christmas tree and all the trimmings. Spacious well-stocked kitchen, large closets, comfortable beds! Highly recommend for a family vacation. Great location!
Thank you, Jim.
Elizabeth, thanks for the great review! It was a pleasure having your family here in Albuquerque and I am glad they enjoyed and used the house and amenities. Your family is welcome here anytime you find yourselves in Albuquerque again. Jim
This property needs some TLC to be functional as advertised
We had a large group and were very excited to find a place to accommodate all of us. Unfortunately, the listed number of sleeping spaces was a little less than accurate. Several of the kids ended up sleeping on air mattresses on the floor. We very excited about swimming in the pool and hot tub, however found the hot tub drained, and the pool way too dirty to swim in. The wifi was turned off (message from Century Link was that the bill had not been paid), and there were a number of smaller maintenance things that were small inconveniences (garbage disposal not working, air hockey table not able to be plugged in without an extension cord). Despite this, the house was nicely stocked with linens and kitchen necessities. It's in a nice spot with easy access to I-25. The Albuquerque airport was close, but the house is not in the flight path of air traffic, or at least we didn't notice any noise. The neighborhood is quiet and appeared safe as well. We enjoyed eating at Cervantes, walking distance from the house; and had a blast at the Balloon Fiesta, the children's museum, and Meow Wolf in Santa Fe.
Thanks for the Review! We did get a text from a member staying at the house on the day of arrival saying they had a question about the wifi. I called and left a message and I texted the number back with no further response. I assumed you found the password and the issue was resolved as there was no further contact from the group until after they left the property. As for the pool it was cleaned the day prior to your arrival but it is an above ground open pool and it is fall with a large tree above it. We would have been happy to clean the leaves out if it if that was requested and a leaf net and pole were there beside the pool. Just prior to your arrival the hot tub did have a major leak issue and the technician drained it and pulled the pump to rebuild it so guilty as charged there! I checked both of the garbage disposals and one of them had a penny stuck in it. I promise I did not put it in there. Air hockey table is in the same place for 9 years and has never needed an extension cord as it reaches the plug on the West side of it just fine. I do appreciate the information and wish it had been addressed during the stay and not later in a review but some people do that to avoid the contact I suppose. We do go to great extremes of stocking the house all the way down to brand new toothbrushes in the bathrooms and making sure the house is very clean so I am grateful your group did enjoy the rest of it and had a good time here in Albuquerque. Jim
Just what we needed!
Rented this house for 3weeks while working in the area. Jim was very helpful and accommodating. The pool was a nice bonus! Would stay again.
Amazing Vacation Home!
The house was amazing. I brought a large group of kids and Jim was so helpful making sure beds and everything was setup to perfectly accommodate us. The pool and game room was a huge hit for the kids and the adults loved the large kitchen space and hot tub. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!
We just returned home from our long weekend at the Game Room House. I must say it was everything we wanted and more. My 9 year old grandson's first words: "Wow Grandma this is AWESOME, would you to buy this house for us?!" Plenty for kids and adults to do. We had a great time, the only regret I had was we were so busy we didn't get to enjoy the house as much as we wanted to. The house is very well-kept and very well-loved. It had everything we needed and then some. Jim, the owner, was so easy to work with and had so much patience with my many questions. My family had never stayed at a vacation home before. We have always stayed at hotels. After this experience, we will now stay only at vacation homes. I would definitely stay at this home again if we have the opportunity to return to Albuquerque. The house was plenty big for my family and very comfortable. Beautiful, quiet neighborhood.
Thanks again, Jim!
