They are supervised on-site by an Italian couple Franco and Giovanna, which grew up next door, 20 years worked in Germany and therefore has very good knowledge of German.
Those who are interested can visit one of the many 'Frantolio' oil mills on site and there try the excellent olive oil. Also on the production of wines you can learn a lot here.
Or do you just let your soul, in the garden on one of the many seats between almond and olive trees.
True to the motto: Dolce Vita Bella Italia!
Welcome to the land where the clocks run slower.
For those looking for an amazingly beautiful, quiet, and stunning home to unwind and soak up the sun....this is for you. The home is immaculately furnished. Everything: fixtures, bedding, showers, linens...first class. The grounds are breathtaking. We enjoyed fresh produce from the garden every day. I think we ate in a different outdoor dining area every day of our stay. The views from the pool are incredible. The caretakers, Giovanna and Franco, could not have been nicer and more helpful. We also took advantage of Henning's expertise in the area and hired him to show us around Ostuni and Cisternino one day. Well worth it. The home is spacious with plenty of space inside to relax, but we were outside all day every day enjoying the pool, views, and grounds. We would return here without question. We flew into Bari due to previous travel and access to the airport. However, I will fly into Brindisi on the next trip to cut down on travel time to the house. One of our favorite vacations ever-largely due to the amazing house and its stunning architecture, landscaping, and location.
A wonderfully relaxing place to stay. The accommodation is well-designed and comfortable. We stayed with another couple in the lamia while a young couple were staying in the trulli. The layout is such that both parties had their own private areas outside as well as communal areas around the pool in the beautifully landscaped gardens.
The beds are very comfortable and we loved the stone 'wardrobes' - what a great idea! The shower room was spacious and the waterfall shower was good. The kitchen area is compact but with the outside BBQ area (with another sink) this was not really a problem. There is plenty of outdoor comfortable seating as well as sunbeds around the pool. When it gets too hot, just relax on the comfy cushions in the stone gazebo and read a book - bliss!
The infinity pool is great and you can admire the wonderful landscaping (which, though new is maturing nicely) and the ancient olive and fruit trees around you. We particularly enjoyed picking tomatoes, aubergines, courgettes from the kitchen garden during our stay - what a tasty treat!
The panoramic views from our roof terrace were fantastic, especially sunset over the Valle d'Itria (more comfy seating up here too). Franco and Giovanna will welcome you when you arrive (or show you the way if it's your first visit). Nothing is too much trouble for them, they are lovely people. (NB. They speak Italian and German but not much English - we managed though.) Franco organised a trip to a local wine and olive oil cooperative which was fascinating as the grape harvest was on while we were there.
We certainly intend to stay here again - and soon we hope.
If you need somewhere peaceful to switch off and relax, then this is the place for you. Then, when you want to meet the locals, Martina Franca, Cisternino, Ostuni and Locorotondo are all a short drive away. Don't forget to visit Alberobello - if you like trulli, this is a World Heritage town full of them.
If you want a long sandy beach with a gently shelving sea, the go to Parco delle Dune Costiere which runs between Torre Canne and Torre San Leonardo.
We enjoyed our stay here so much we hope to book again for next year! It has everything you expect from a purpose built house and more! The lamia and trulli are wonderfully thought out and built to very high specification, so comfortable and rustic my whole family fell in love with it and nothing has been left out of the design. The photographs do not do this property justice it is so beautiful, set in its own grounds with a total panoramic view just out of sight of other properties you can't help but relax and unwind here!
We regularly had our family up for barbecues whom live in Ostuni, you can eat in a few different areas outside, poolside or even on the purpose built terrace with seating! Watching the sunset! It's just stunning! We loved having full access to all of the fig trees and were encouraged to pick our own tomatoes, aubergines, chilli's, lettuces and cucumbers that were growing outside our kitchen door! Our 22 month old son loved every minute in the pool it is a salt water pool yet you wouldn't know it, he would regularly pull me in fully clothed and we used it at all times of the day and night! It's the main attraction for us and why we booked this villa, it had a built in outdoor seating area with lots of cushions and everybody got use from it.
The property was immaculately cleaned and maintained by Franco and Giovanna, who were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble, we were welcomed with wine, fresh fruit and packets of fresh amaretti biscuits, a beautiful touch. I loved having the coffee maker on in the morning and sitting just outside the kitchen door on the built in seats enjoying the peace and quiet!
I would highly recommend this property to anyone who would like to visit Puglia, Ostuni is around a 15 minute drive and around a 5-10 minute drive to Martina Franca both are beautiful towns with lots of restaurants, boutique shops, lots of history and plenty going on in the month of August!
We can't wait to rebook this beautiful property for next year as we have booked town houses before and stayed closer to Ostuni but as we have a toddler this was perfect for the pool and relaxing, we found we didn't have to go anywhere if we didn't want to and it suited us just fine to entertain! There are two fridges here but we felt we could have done with a larger one as we were entertaining a lot of family, but this was the only downside. Overall one of the best holidays we've had in Italy! thanks to Christiane and Achim!

They have by their own small hill (the terrace / pool) a stunning view of the Valle d'Itria (Valley of Trulli). On the opposite hill, you can see in the evening sun, the ancient cities of Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Cisternino. Next door, in the midst of olive groves and vineyards, passing an aqueduct, which invites long walks and cycle trips. Evening enjoy the culinary variety of Apulia and the hospitality of Pugliesen in the narrow streets of historic cities, the time-honored masserie and trattorias in the countryside or in a sunset on the Ionian Sea. Listing all sights and destinations would certainly go beyond the scope of this page, so just a few examples.
Ostuni - the white city by the sea
Castellana Grotta - huge caves / Caves
Ceglie Messapica - prehistoric Altstadt
Matera - Sassi / troglodyte
Alberobello - Town of Trulli / UNESCO - World Heritage
Cisternino - Beautiful Old Town / park offering panoramic
Fasano - Zoosafari / amusement park / Via Egnatia (part Via Apia)
Martina Franca - age Dignified 'free' city (large weekly market)
The list can be extended almost infinitely. Along the Adriatic Sea from Gargano in the north of Apulia over Bari, Brindisi, Lecce to the tip of Salento in southern Puglia and along the west coast (Ionian Sea) from Gallipoli on Manduria and Massafra. Beaches of different kinds, from the fine sandy beach to rocky cliffs, from the holiday crowds to total solitude - let yourself be surprised.
