Santa Barbara Studio Rental Photos and Description

Studio, Studio + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 1-3)

Need a break? Beautiful Santa Barbara, California, could be the answer!

Come stay in this luxurious furnished Mediterranean-style second story casita (or guest studio) in Santa Barbara. The casita includes such details as gorgeous reclaimed Canadian Douglas Fir wood floors, French doors, and custom maple kitchen cabinets with granite tile countertops.

At 450 square feet inside, it offers a spacious comfortable feeling and tons of amenities. There are windows all around with amazing views of the City and mountains, or enjoy the views on your own generous balcony. You can also wander through the garden to rest and relax, or perhaps enjoy a picnic, in the sunny back yard! And the casita is conveniently located approximately one mile from downtown or two from the beach, Stearns Wharf and the Harbor.

The casita encompasses the entire 2nd story of a free-standing garage at the back of a 1/4-acre property -- no shared walls, no living spaces above or below! This is a perfect home away from home for business and vacation!

Perfect place for 70th Birthday Celebration

  • 5 of 5

The Casita was the perfect place to spend a week exploring the Santa Barbara area for my husband's 70th Birthday. The description and excellent reviews which made me choose this property were accurate and very helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom luxurious. We cooked 5 of the 7 nights and Mary and Tom had everything one might need or use in the very well furnished kitchen. It was nice to have fresh cold filtered water in the refrigerator and 2 fans going when we arrived on a very hot day. There are windows all around the apartment, so a nice breeze came in every night and we were quite comfortable during the unusual hot spell. The sitting area was a cozy place to read or watch TV (which we didn't, but I assume it worked just fine). We also appreciated the double bed lights so that we could read in bed. We did not take advantage of the garden area, but It looked inviting for a quiet read or visit. The location is awesome - near everything, in a very nice neighborhood, with wonderful views from every window! We will definitely recommend this guest casita to anyone we know who plans to visit Santa Barbara. We had come prepared with a list of things to do and see, but did appreciate all the information that Mary and Tom provided on the sights, activities, restaurants, etc. If you have time, be sure to check out the Botanical Gardens, the Channel Islands for hiking, La Purisima Mission in Lompoc, Solvang (we enjoyed the outdoor theater), and of course, all the town sights. And if you like Traditional Irish Music and are there on a Thursday night, go to Dargans. We had a great time, enjoyed the beer, didn't think too much of the food, but we were there for the music which was wonderful! And finally, if/when we go back to Santa Barbara, the Casita would be our first choice of a place to stay.

Wonderful place and great owners

  • 5 of 5

We spent three days at this lovely casita and it exceeded our expectations. I think it is nicer than the pictures and it certainly had everything we could need or want for out stay. When my son in law who lives in Santa Barbara saw it he was wowed. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is clean and had all the necessities, and the kitchen was fully stacked with all types of equipment and such. It is in a quiet neighborhood and convenient to all the things we wanted to do. And there is an orange tree right by the stairs up to the casita. I hope the next time we visit we can stay here again.

LOVED IT!

  • 5 of 5

This place is a gem. Great location, easy parking, nice & quiet + beautiful views! We felt welcomed...even pampered. Well stocked kitchen, wonderful sheets & towels, perfect for two people. We shopped at the gourmet grocery story nearby, Lazy Acres, that Mary suggested and enjoyed making several meals in the comfort of the Guest Casita. Definitely want to stay here again when we return to Santa Barbara.

The Perfect Place

  • 5 of 5

Mary has a lovely Guest Casita! It is warm, inviting, and very comfortable. It has everything you would need for your stay. It was nice being in a quiet neighborhood, yet just minutes from downtown Santa Barbara. The Casita is well stocked with kitchen necessities, good movies, and books (in fact I got quite involved with one and couldn't leave until I fiished it!) We will definitely stay again on our next visit to the Santa Barbara area.

Mary met us when we arrived and gave us a quick tour of the Casita and made us comfortable immediately. She and her husband, Tom, were available for any questions we had, but were not intrusive at all! Staying at Mary's place reinforces my desire to avoid hotels!

Class Act--Casita in the Sky!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in Santa Barbara and this charming casita made our stay even more enjoyable. We were able to spend time relaxing in this roomy, one-room hide out. The views of the city from the balcony were stunning. My husband's goal was to read and unwind, and he appreciated the fact that the neighborhood surrounding the casita was peaceful. For couples looking for a lazy vacation, spending time touring Santa Barbara and time indoors relaxing, this is the perfect place. Fully furnished with everything one needs for a week's stay, and with a grocery store within a 5 -minute drive, we were pleased to just hide away from our every day lives in the casita in the sky!

The grounds were well maintained, and the casita was clean and tidy. Bed was comfy too!

In a centrally located neighborhood, this beautiful casita is approximately 1 mile from downtown Santa Barbara or 2 from the harbor and beach -- an easy distance to enjoy all Santa Barbara has to offer. Close to downtown businesses, shopping, museums, restaurants, night clubs, the Santa Barbara Mission, the Botanical gardens, the County Bowl (for live shows), golf courses, the harbor and Stearns Wharf, whale watching, island and coastal boat tours, bike and electric car rentals. Although the casita is in the City, it has a touch of a rural feeling, with large oak and Eucalyptus groves in view on 2 sides, as well as views of the city, Riviera and mountains on the other 2 sides. It is a perfect spot for a relaxing vacation or business trip!
