Podere San Martino is an old historic country house from the beginning of the 18th century. Century.

It was bought by a German family and carefully rebuilt over many years with great attention to detail. Olive trees, oranges, figs, lemons and much more grow on the approximately 9 hectare estate.

On the nearby beaches you can immerse yourself in the Italian way of life and enjoy the sun to the fullest.

In the supermarkets in the area you get everything your heart desires to prepare it in the evening on the grill or in the large kitchen.

There are also some very good restaurants nearby, if you do not want to come yourself. However, it still tastes best with the landlord, who also likes to cook for you on request.

Tolles Urlaubsdomizil

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Tuscany has so much to offer and Podere San Martino is the ideal starting point for numerous day trips to famous cultural cities.

Livorno: about 20 minutes

Next to the sea and crossed by numerous canals, is Livorno, the city of water. The smell of salt and sea permeates the air and carry an almost magical, in the arms of the central market hall in which the local fishermen bring every morning to present their fresh catch and the people. A colorful and sometimes hectic dominates everyday life in the marble halls between fish, meat and vegetables.

From the harbor a few kilometers pulls the promenade, which was built in the last century, along the sea. You pass by grand palaces, the old aquarium from the 20th Century and the Marine University, which was built in 1881 and the close connection to the water symbolizes Livorno. A little further on, hidden in the greenery near the sea, lies the Caprilli Hippodrome, which is a popular venue for horse racing for a hundred years.

Pisa: 30 minutes drive

Pisa and its emblem, the Campanile Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Tuscany visitors are certainly not just a term. Together with the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, whose dome was painted by Michelangelo, he stands in the Piazza dei Miracoli, the Field of Miracles. But the university town of Pisa has much more to offer. Leaving the Piazza just a few hundred meters and moves through the narrow streets that lead away like tentacles of an octopus from the Piazza, then a completely different image of Pisa opened. It is still original and genuine. It can be seen winding streets, bars and typical Pisan painted in yellow houses, which give an idea of the wealth of the former city yet.

Florence: about 60 minutes

Deep in the basins of the hill, along the Arno covers the city of Florence or Firenze as it is called by the Italians. She has become known not only by the sweet Florentiener that stick so wonderfully between the teeth, but is also the capital of Tuscany and richly endowed with historical estates of yesteryear. Starting from the Ponte Vecchio and its sparkling in itself jeweler mile or the secret passageway connecting the Uffizier with the Pitti Palace on the other side of the Arno.

Lucca: about 60 minutes

One of the most beautiful cities of Tuscany is certainly one of the little town of Lucca, which has besides its enchanting narrow streets and historic and culinary incredible to offer. The Piazza Anfiteatro, can not hide from their ellipsoidal arrangement, originating an arena today is a sympathetic and harmonious place, completely balanced and beautiful.

The Basilica di San Frediano from the 12th Century Lucca's oldest church. The showpiece of the romantic Basilica is the gold leaf mosaic on the facade, showing the Ascension of Christ. In Via Fillungo, the transactions Lucca's rows. Fashion, antiques, jewelry, food and fruit shops stand side by side with its beautiful old facades. On Via Fillungo 58 is the famous Café Di Simo, where already 1858 born in Lucca composer of the operas Turandot and La Boheme, Giacomo Puccini, was a regular guest. There is much more that could be told about Lucca, it was the famous Lardo di Colonnada, which is to get so tasteful only in this region, or pecorino aged for at Lucca in many small dairies or simply the impression of this fascinating city, which attracts an each time a spell.

San Gimignano: about 60 minutes

The small town of San Gimignano was once settled by the Etruscans on a hill in the upper Val d'Elsa, has managed over the centuries to almost worldwide fame and is nowadays also known as the Manhattan of the Middle Ages. His leg name comes from the profiling addiction of the former citizens who wanted to excel as a status symbol and sign of their wealth against each other in the height of their towers. This recognition seemed to them to be more important than a luxurious life outside the city, which was of course not have been possible in these towers. As a result, according to this quest for self San Gimignano is the only city in Italy, which still features 15 of the past 72 of these towers. Has left if you go up the small hill to San Gimignano behind his eyes can not believe at first glance, you enter a world that has managed almost unnoticeably to cheat past the time history. Because of these towers and of course because of its almost unchanged medieval appearance, the historic town of San Gimignano was appointed in 1990 as a World Heritage Site.
