Guestbook comments from the owner

I was in San Jose on business and decided to take a couple of extra days to visit the Monterey Bay area with my mother who was travelling with me. We found Nina's place and it was right up our alley! If you love old houses, architecture and/or history, this charming, three-bedroom in the historic Pacific Grove area will delight you. The cottage has hardwood floors, historical pictures grace the walls, and it's clean and inviting. The kitchen is HUGE and has a wonderful little garden off of it in the back. There's even a park across the street. We also liked that it's centrally located - a short drive and you're in Carmel-by-the-Sea or Monterey. And Nina's recommendations for dining choices were just what we were looking for. We'd definitely stay here again if we're in the area - lots of serendipities and memories to be made!

Exceeded expectations!

  • 5 of 5

It was just a short three night stay to spend some time with the family living in Pacific Grove. The house is located within easy walking distance to Lover's Point, where my morning coffee was greeted by the sun rising over beautiful Monterey Bay. The house is beautiful and smartly decorated and very comfortable. Much of the artwork on the walls are old era pictures of the area and probably have more significance to the property and community than I was able to decipher during my short stay. The family and grandkids came over for Sunday barbecue on what was a cool and rainy evening. We had a wonderful time watching movies and playing games in front of the beautiful and warm fireplace! Nina was great and had the place in tip-top shape. I will consider it my first desired option when I return and recommend it to anyone wishing to visit one of the most beautiful coastlines on the planet.

Well located, charming house

  • 5 of 5

I met my siblings at this home for a birthday celebration. One of my siblings lives nearby, so this place was not only convenient to downtown Pacific Grove and Monterey Bay. Everything was as promised, and our stay went extremely smoothly. It's not a party house (we celebrated at restaurants in the evening), but that's part of its charm. All of us who stayed here commented on how much we enjoyed our visit.

A quiet, clean cottage close to both the shore and Lighthouse Avenue. A good value too.

Happy Stay in a Delightful Home

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful two week stay in this authentic, historic and very comfortable cottage that lacked nothing. Surprisingly spacious, it's perfectly located on a street lined with picture-perfect Victorian cottages in Pacific Grove just a short walk from the ocean at Lovers Point, or the shops and cafes up on the main street, or the regular Farmers Market, or the Natural History Museum, and just a short drive into Monterey or to the spectacular coastline at Asilomar. And let's not forget the lovely park just across the street out back, where our daughters loved to play just about every day, and where we enjoyed some true-blue Americana on July 4th at the community barbecue held there. So much, so close by! The cottage has everything you could possibly need, and was immaculately clean and well-presented. Nina and Jean were fantastic VRBO hosts, quick to respond to the couple of minor questions we had while staying in their home, were friendly and kind, and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Prosecco in the fridge on arrival was a charming touch and much appreciated too. This was a simply top-rate VRBO experience that we highly recommend and would absolutely repeat!

Wish this was my home

  • 5 of 5

This Cottage was so lovely, warm, and inviting I wish it was my home. Just a block from all the shopping and restaurants of P.C. and a short walk to Lover's Point. Three nice size rooms and a big kitchen with a pine farm table, large TV with cable, internet and a real working fireplace. All the beds had comfy mattresses with new soft sheets, and lots of pillows. There were 4 of us ladies staying and we all had 4 bath towels apiece, lots of extra blankets to curl up in while gossiping in the front parlor along with a number of wine glasses to use without needing to keep them washed. I cooked in the vintage stove using the well appointed selection of cookware, pot holders, and dish towels. Really there was not a thing we needed that was not provided for the 5 night stay. The neighborhood felt safe and was quiet at night. Parking was available in front of the cottage at all times.

Nina was a delight to work with. She responded to my emails promptly and was very organized. I hope to be able to stay in this property next July making it an annual retreat.

Thank you Nina!

Charming, beautiful, close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay! The cottage is situated among an an adorable array of historic properties, only 2 blocks from the most breathtaking views at Lover's Point. We have a 5 and 4 year old so the park accessible from the back of the property was a delight--the kids loved it and made some nice friends. The cottage had all of the essentials for a comfortable stay and Nena was very easy to work with--would definitely stay there again.
