The typical historic Canarian farmhouse 'finca' built of natural stone, with 110 square meters of living space, 360m.l. is located on the edge of a unique natural reserve 'Galguen', not far from the village of Santo Domingo.

Surrounding house are sunny terraces for resting sunbathing and eating. The property is nicely grown with canary palm trees and flowers. All the floors and ceilings of the house are made of tea (precious wood of the Canarian pine). The large bedroom has a double bed with sea view, Balcony, the second bedroom has a view of the Barranco and the mountains. In the living room there is a fireplace, satellite TV and a bed sofa. The bathroom has floor heating a bath and a glass roof. The large kitchen with dishwasher, gas stove, oven, refrigerator and a comfortable seating corner invites to eat and linger.

Lovely old Canarian house situated in an idyllic spot overlooking the Atlantic.

If you are looking for a peaceful and romantic holiday - this is the place for you. Christian & Carola have created a beautiful garden full of palm trees, succulents and fascinating plants and there are plenty of sunny and shaded areas to sit and watch the sea, beautiful sunsets and spectacular rainbows. The farm has a wide range of exotic fruit trees and vegetables that you can buy, as well as eggs from a clutch of rare Canarian chickens. The house is fairly comfortable and well equipped with pretty locally-made plates & dishes. It has a large comfortable double bed in the main bedroom, which also had a balcony with views over the garden to the sea. The downsides are that there is no hot water supply in the kitchen (there is however a dishwasher) and though the over-bath shower has good hot water - if you are tall, the pitched roof means space is a little cramped.

The house is situated in the north west, which is the least populated but most beautiful area of the Island. The house is well situated for getting to the Caldera and there are some beautiful local walks, but it is a fair distance from any bars and restaurants (if you were thinking of walking to one - you wouldn’t be able to easily) and the very windy roads meant that we tended to eat out at lunchtime and cook at the house in the evenings.

Christian & Carola have created an amazingly beautiful life for themselves here and one that treads lightly on the planet, which should be respected.

Finally, the plants in this area are very special and very out of the ordinary - if you are a plant and nature lover you will be in heaven here. It should be pointed out that the garden is situated on the side of a deep ravine so the house would not not be ideal for very young children. It is on 2 levels externally so also not ideal if you have mobility problems.

This is a lovely old finca in a fantastic location overlooking cliffs and the sea.

We had a wonderful holiday. The hosts were charming and the meal they cooked for us was the best of our stay. The scenery generally is stunning and the roads to Los Tilos and the Caldera good, if dramatic, for remarkable hikes. Swimming from the local beach needs very calm conditions, but we enjoyed safe swimming at Tazacorte.

All in all, highly recommended!

Excellent and peaceful

One cannot write only about the finca and the farmhouse without mentioning, Garafia, and La Palma. It's a rugged, peaceful, natural paradise, but only for those travelers who love quiet and extreme natural beauty. The house is situated literally on one of the hiking trails that runs inside the barranco, so that hiking and walking are outside your door.

The house itself is spacious, three bedrooms and the bathroom above and the kitchen below.

The terraces / patios are lovely with jasmine everywhere and splendid views of the countryside and ocean. It's very private.

The hosts, Christian and Carola Blaser are very special people : gracious, kind & considerate.

They live next door, which is helpful if something needs repair or if you need advice. But mostly they will supply, upon request, the finest quality fruits, vegetables, eggs, etc., from their gardens and kitchens. And even cook you a fine meal !

All of La Palma is varied in its natural characteristics and all of it is beautiful. But no part is any more beautiful or peaceful than the location of this property.

La casa está muy bien equipada: cocina, baño, dos dormitorios, un saloncito y un patio con vista al mar , increíble a la hora del arardecer. La huerta de Christian rodea toda la casa y (si quieres) te provee cada día de fruta fresca, huevos, etc. Un privilegio.

Eine liebevoll von Carola und Christian geführte ländliche Oase zum Durchatmen

Wer seine Ruhe haben möchte, die Sonne und exzellentes Bio-Essen aus dem biodynamischen Garten -liebevoll von Christian und Carola zubereitet- genießen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Große Menschen müssen ob der niedrigen Türschwellen den Kopf einziehen, aber daran kann man sich gewöhnen ;-) Die beiden versuchen alles, den Aufenthalt so schön wie möglich zu machen. Einmal nach einem Fön gefragt und sie haben sofort einen besorgt :-)

Maximale Erholung mit sehr viel wohlfühlen

Wir kamen aus einer beruflich maximal belastenden Situation und haben uns daher entschieden, für die gesamte Dauer unseres Urlaubes Frühstück (selbst gebackenes Sauerteigbrot, selbstgemachte Marmelade, Ziegenkäse, Honig, frische Hühnereier, Müsli und sehr viel frisches Obst aus dem Garten der Finca) und Abendessen (äußerst lecker, viel Gemüse und Salat von der Finca, Fisch, gelegentlich Fleisch, Dessert, leckerer Rotwein) mit zu buchen - und das war für uns die beste Entscheidung. Das Haus ist klasse, die liebevolle und sehr zurückhaltende Betreuung durch Christian und Carola auch. Wir haben die Gartenexkursion gebucht und so einen schönen Einblick in die nachhaltige Bewirtschaftung der Finca bekommen. Wer an einem besonderen Platz zur Ruhe kommen möchte oder Erholung sucht, einen naturverbundenen Lebensstil schätzt, Achtsamkeit mag, für den ist die Finca vermutlich der richtige Urlaubsort.

The finca (farmhouse) lies on the edge of the Barrancos Atajo (gorge) and offers a wonderful panoramic view of the coast and the pine forests of the mountains. From the house you can start directly on old footpaths, the most beautiful hikes and visit the prehistoric caves of Cueva del Agua. The walk to the sea is 30min. and leads to the natural beach Callejoncito around the house grow subtropical plants such as palms, dragon trees, olives, citrus, mangoes, papayas, guavas, almonds, figs and much more offered by the owner. We are happy to bake for an organic rye / spelled sourdough bread with almonds and own a delivery of fresh goat's milk / cheese, vegetables and fruits from the region. Once a week the fisherman Ramon delivers fresh sea fish.
