Limited cell coverage on the drive-up the mountain but we have WIFI and our Verizon cell phones normally work well at the cabin. There is a WIFI landline and phone in cabin for emergency service.

Downstairs there is another flat screen HDTV, 14-foot shuffleboard table, dart board, wall hanging connect four and many games and puzzles with a game table. Also, a coffee/wine bar and another full bathroom with custom walk-in tile shower and granite countertop. There are also 2 bedrooms that will be locked.

Custom kitchen with granite counter tops. Stainless steel appliances, gas stove/oven, microwave, and dishwasher. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook (pots, pans, Crockpot, waffle maker, utensils, plates, bowls, silverware, etc.) meals during your stay.

The master bedroom features a king-sized log frame and new mattress, matching log chest, and two log end tables with lamps. Off of the master bedroom is a full bathroom with a large tiled shower that is open to the beamed ceiling. The master bathroom also has dual vanities.

The second bathroom upstairs has a tub and shower. Large single vanity and laundry room with new washer and dryer. Plenty of storage for the utmost convenience.

A new Hot Tub and Porch Swing for two below the deck for privacy where you can enjoy the long-range mountain views. The stars are unbelievably gorgeous on a clear night. Beside the hot tub is a picnic table for casual dining and relaxing.

There is a fire-pit to enjoy the cool mountain nights roasting marshmallows or hot dogs.

This dazzling, custom built cabin is beautiful, peaceful and ideal for special occasions such as honeymoons, anniversaries, and birthdays. The cabin caters to a single couple for a relaxing romantic getaway.

This cabin offers the perfect balance; peace, quiet, comfort, and views that will take your breath away. Elk Ridge Summit is located in the prestigious gated community - Alarka Highlands about 25 minutes from Bryson City. For entertaining there is a community Pavilion with a large stone fireplace. Several hiking trails to enjoy the beauty of the mountains. The drive is steep. A 4WD vehicle is recommended for winter or bad weather travel. No refunds for bad weather, however, we will credit you for a future stay if possible. The address cannot be found on GPS. The driving app WAZE, will direct you to our road within the community.

The Bryson City area is home to wonderful restaurants, breweries, the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, hiking, zip-lining, trout fishing, and canoeing. Maggie Valley is close for snow skiing. Many local small towns offer shopping and dining as well.

-- THE LOCATION --

Situated in the middle of the Great Smoky Mountains, this cabin is the perfect place to get away from it all while still being close to the conveniences of town. The cabin itself sits at the top of a mountain, providing guests plenty of privacy and unobstructed panoramic views.

A short drive will take you to restaurants, shopping, museums, and historic attractions of Bryson City. Take the night off from cooking and check out the local fare in Bryson City. Enjoy a comforting meal at the historic Fryemont Inn (ask for Sarge at the bar) or Everett Street Diner, go for a margarita and Mexican favorites at Guayabitos Restaurant, or get a taste of the local craft beer at Mountain Layers Brewery, one of our favorite stops.

There’s no shortage of activities in the Great Smoky Mountains. Make the quick trip up to Deep Creek to hike up to a waterfall or set up shop by a fishing stream, while mountain bikers take advantage of the nearby trails. Beautiful mountain views
My wife and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary at our favorite cabin! The mountain views always take our breaths away, and the rolling clouds through the mountains are amazing to watch. This cabin is packed with so many thoughtful and fun things, the game room has everything you could ever need to have a good time. Loved the hot tub overlooking the view. Very comfortable bed and furniture. Will be back again someday!

Peaceful retreat
Don’t underestimate the details about driving up to the cabin! But it’s well worth the drive! Was the perfect peaceful getaway and owners are easily accessible via phone. They provide just about everything you can think of outside of your meals to help make your stay enjoyable. I chose this place because of everything it provided, in case we had to stay in due to weather. There’s plenty to keep you occupied. Look forward to returning to this little slice of heaven in the future! As much I want to be selfish and not leave a review so there’s availability next time I visit, it’s too hard not to want to share about this soul restoring retreat. Those morning mountain views never get old.

About the host

Host profile image
We currently live on the east coast of Florida, but spend several weeks each summer hiking the Appalachian Trail. We both love North Carolina, especially Bryson City and the Great Smoky Mountains. We feel fortunate to have found Elk Ridge Summit as our second home to share with others. The views are magnificent and the cabin is spacious yet very cozy.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Elk Ridge Summit immediately! When you drive up the hill into our driveway you will see why. That view is just magnificent!

What makes this property unique

If you enjoy relaxing on a deck and gazing at multiple mountain layers, especially at sunrise with a cup of coffee or a glass of your favorite wine at sunset, Elk Ridge Summit will not disappoint. Once the sun sets, the stars illuminate so bright, time will stand still, not to mention all the fun you will have counting the satellites flying over head.
