Why Melanie Fox chose Hawaii Kai
We love this area for it's beauty and access to the ocean. It is so close to everything we need yet tropical and remote feeling. Hanauma Bay Beach Park is close by. It is the most popular visitor attraction on Oahu. It is always a fantastic day of snorkeling there. The bay in front of our house is perfect for Paddle Boarding and Kayaking. The Koko Marina Shopping Center is about close and has everything you could need. There is a Starbucks, Jamba Juice, 24 Hour Fitness, Gas Station, Nail Salon, and Movie Theater. There are are a 1/2 dozen Restaurants too.
What makes this House unique
You will love the sounds of morning birds and the smell of Plumera Blossoms when you wake up here. And you can grab a Mango from the tree for a Tropical Smoothie. Take a leisurely walk on the beautiful quiet streets in the neighborhood with the most incredible view of Diamond Head.

We were in Honolulu for a family wedding. This house accommodated 8 adults and 4 children very well. The kitchen was impressively stocked. We felt like home. Everyone enjoyed the pool.
Owner of property is wonderful! She allowed us to check out at 12:30 & not 10 am. She has everything we needed for the pool & beach. Our family had a great time. Thank you Melanie.
We had the best time. The house was perfect. We had so much fun and loved our location. The house was the perfect size and we absolutely loved the pool!!! It was so nice to meet Meagan, her and Chris were great. Thank you Melanie, for sharing your home with us. We definitely did not want to leave.
50th anniversary trip
We had a wonderful time and this house fit all the needs of our 12 guests from ages 12 to 71. Plenty of beds, great location, well-stocked kitchen, awesome beach needs, and much more. Owners went above and beyond in every way!
This house is VERY accommodating for all kinds of travelers. It is in a great location far enough from all the high traffic of downtown Waikiki but close to many great attractions on Ohahu. It is in a beautiful neighborhood with shopping very close by. Pretty much everything in the house you wanted to pack but did not have room for. The owner is very nice and helpful. Would stay there again and definitely recommend.
Perfect Hosted Space For A Large Family Or Get together!
Of all the places I have stayed in different parts of the world this one has been my favourite! Our host Melanie was so welcoming, kind, helpful, resourceful, easygoing, understanding, polite and more! This space and her are more than a 5 star rating! They are exceptional.
To explain, I arrived from Australia in the early morning way before check in time with no place to rest after a long sleepless flight. Melanie kindly gave me a room to sleep in her house until her guest house was cleaned and my family members arrived from different parts of Canada for a reunion. She offered me coffee, food, a bathroom to shower too.
During the whole duration of our stay she insured that all our comforts and needs were met. The house was so equipped, very clean, spacious, all the beds were comfy, and the pool was sparkling. The house location was perfect, close to all amenities, 4 minutes drive away from the Hanauma Bay Reserve and an easy distance to many stunning coastline beaches.
I already miss this place and Melanie's warmth. I am certain that all my family share this sentiment. Thank you Melanie!!
I enjoyed your family and you so much. Please come back again!
Here are some of the things we suggest for you to do on Oahu.
PEARL HARBOR – PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS ON LINE FOR YOUR TRIP. HANAUMA BAY STATE UNDERWATER PARK (MUST DO) Fabulously beautiful beach with a calm inner reef and tame tropical fish. The outer reef has coral gardens, green sea turtles, and reef fish. The bluff above the bay has a great new visitor center which educates visitors about reef life. Closed Tuesdays.
KAILUA BEACH & PARK (MUST DO) One of the world's top-rated beaches. Sailboards and kayaks can be rented on the spot. Turquoise waters are protected from big waves by outer reef and shallow water. Trade winds prevail to make for perfect windsurfing as well as kite sailing. The beach is great for family fun.
KAHALA RESORT This is a beautiful Hotel with a DOLPHIN EXPERIENCE that is recommended for adults and children. The dolphins live in a lagoon on the property. The beach is small and kid friendly with Cabana’s for rent. You can dine on site or go for a FANTASTIC Sunset Cocktail. Valet Park with Validation. There are several restaurants on site including High Tea in the Afternoon and a Piano Lounge in the evening.
SANDY BEACH Beautiful beach closest to the house. SAFETY FIRST I do not recommend swimming here. It is only for LOCAL people. Many visitors are injured here.
WAIMANALO BAY Oahu's longest sandy beach. Snorkeling among tropical fish and colorful corals in a shallow, reef-protected bay.
WATER SPORTS Jet skiing, parasailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, banana boats and bumper tubes, glass bottom & scuba dive boats are all available at Koko Marina which is just a block and ½ from the house. You can also Kayak and Stand-up Paddle Board from here also.
CHINA WALLS This is a cool place you can walk to from our house. It is at a beach park up the road on the ocean. Ask up about it when you are here. SAFETY FIRST……DON’T BE FOOLISH!
