Happy travelers

We loved our apartment in Vienna. This was like staying at Grandma's! Things are from a by-gone era, but wonderful, comfortable, inviting. We three ladies each had an area to claim as our own and had room to spread out. Everything you could want was there--everything was clean and in working order. We greatly appreciated working Wi-fi. The location is amazing--subway line and Ringstrasse tram line very close, but so many things within walking distance--stroll through the rose garden and be at the Hofburg in no time. We walked to see the Spanish Riding School performance and the mass with the Vienna Boys Choir. A little further and you reach the Opera--be sure to get standing room tickets and reserve your spot with a scarf tied on the leaning bar. Opera for three euros--who knew? The museum quarter and volkstheater are practically your neighbors! Stores, banks, restaurants, sights, entertainment--it's all close by. Michael is a dear--available but not at all bothersome. He will give you the low-down on nearby bakeries and coffee shops. What a deal for the location and the amount of room you have. The area is quiet--but near so much--perfect spot for a visit to this beautiful city. Thank you, Michael!

Huge, comfortable apartment in Vienna

  • 5 of 5

What an incredible place! The apartment is enormous and very comfortable. It's also well located - right by the Rathaus and the Ring. A good grocery store (Billa) is within easy walking distance and there are plenty of good restaurants in the area. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go while we were there.

When we arrived, Michael was at the apartment to greet us. He was very cordial and helpful. The apartment was well-equipped with plenty of towels and sheets. The kitchen also had everything we needed - including a dishwasher! The apartment is 1 of only 2 in the entire building - as the remainder of the units are in commercial use as offices. It seemed like we were the only people there during the weekend - it was so incredibly quiet. One suggestion - if you come home after dark, know that the switch for the lights in the halls and stairs is on the left as soon as you enter the front door to the building.

We visited the Christmas Market at the Rathaus while we were there. It's a wonderful experience. Our entire stay in Vienna was delightful - in large part thanks to Michael's apartment and his gracious hospitality.

My family of 5 at this wonderful apartment in August. The hosts were incredibly gracious and accommodating. The apartment is HUGE. The location is PERFECT. The apartment was very clean with plenty of room to relax. The washing machine is a great bonus as we had been traveling for a month. We were minutes from the amazing film festival which takes place during the summer at the Ratthouse. There we got dinner several nights from local restaurants selling at the festival. Also close to all transportation and local tourist sites. There is a grocery store close by. The kitchen is perfectly stocked so we made breakfasts at the apartment. I highly recommend this apartment for your stay.

Authentic and Classy

  • 5 of 5

My husband, my elderly parents and myself stayed in this apartment in May. What a fabulous location! Right beside Vienna's exquisite City Hall , and literally in the heart of beautiful Vienna! The apartment is huge! Please refer to the square footage! At least 14 ft ceilings, feels like you are staying in a palace, loaded with character and charm. The rooms are very large. There is one bathroom with a toilet and one bathroom with a tub and sink, so it worked out well with 4 adults. Large sit-in kitchen. Formal dining table and elegant livingroom. One small TV-worked well. My mother has mobility issues and has a wheelchair. This unit was easy to access for her (she can walk a little bit). We needed and appreciated the elevator in the building.

The keys are a little tricky ) for my elderly folks, but we managed ok.

I would highly recommend this apartment and Vienna! The hosts are lovely to deal with and dependable, thank you!

A gem of a find in Vienna's first district

  • 5 of 5

My wife is Austrian and we visit Vienna often - usually staying with friends but occasionally we like to have the privacy of an apartment of our own.

This particular apartment completely exceeded our expectations. Knowing Vienna as well as we do, we already knew that the location was fabulous - only a few minutes' walk to the nearest tram or subway, and within walking distance of most of the inner city attractions.

The apartment, while showing its age, was spotlessly clean. It is very large, and our family (me, my wife and our son) were very comfortable indeed. The kitchen was perfectly adequate for our needs, and has a table that comfortably seats four. An added bonus was the fact that all of the little things that you need in an apartment were there - sugar, salt, cooking oil - even a few beer in the fridge! The building was, on the whole, very quiet. The internet access was fast. We didn't come to Vienna to watch TV but there is a set and a DVD player.

Linens, towels, etc were all clean and in abundance.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the flat to anyone coming to Vienna - it is hard to imagine anyone being disappointed. You have to realize that it has the amenities of a certain period of time, such as a hand held shower, but it is vastly superior to many other flats in which we have stayed. Our Viennese friends who saw the place were amazed at the value and wanted to know the contact details so that they could recommend it to visitors.

Michael, the owner, was always available and was very accommodating - yet was only in the picture when you wanted him to be.

We are already looking forward to our next trip!

The apartment is really great

  • 5 of 5

Location is very good: near Rathaus, tram 1 and U4. Apartment is nice and spacious, exactly as it looks in pictures, even better. The building is impressive. Clean and quiet. Michael was a perfect owner. We liked Einstein cafe and Gasthaus both very close to our place. Guided tour in opera house was interesting. I am recommending this property to all my friends.
