About Candy Boehm

Hi, my name is Candy. Welcome to Candyland Lodge. I have lived in Western North Carolina for 35 years & I love this place. The breathtaking scenery & the peace you feel surrounded by Mountains. I raised my large family of 6 in these mountains, and I always feel them calling me back when I have been away. I am a Critical Care/ER Travel RN. In my Travels I've had the priviledge of staying in many nice places, and Candyland Lodge is where I always come back to to relax and am always able to leave the rest of the world at the door. I welcome your family's, business associates and church retreats to Candyland Lodge, Where were making amazing memories for all who experience a stay with us.

Candy Boehm purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Candy Boehm chose Asheville Area

In 2007, I built Candyland Lodge to provide a place to relax, kick back and enjoy this peaceful mountain. I wanted a place that would showcase the incredible views that this place has to offer. This is a place for couples, small and large families, church retreats or corporate gatherings. The Lodge is 15-20 minutes from Biltmore Estates, Maggie Valley and downtown Asheville all which have great shopping, restaurants and local sites to see.

What makes this cabin unique

The property is very private, but close to Asheville. It is wonderful to sit on the porch, sip your coffee, grill out, have a drink and experience the serenity that only 15 private acres can offer. I invite you to make some amazing memories as you breath in the fresh mountain air, the sweet scents of honeysuckle, mountain laurel and woodsy aromas that permeate the air. You might even spot a deer. Welcome to Candyland Lodge!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for a relaxing stay in the Mountains - it was everything you said it would be. Your Cabin is beautiful - the hot tub was amazing and the massage my wife and I got was the icing on the cake!

Peaceful atmosphere, Great Owner, Best place south of Asheville to stay!

  • 5 of 5

OH MY GOSH, look no further, this cabin is modern and has no issues at all. NO complaints - even had AT&T cell service which is hard in NC mountains to find! Towels and dishes were all supplied. The landlord is a dream to work with and goes out of her way to accommodate what you may need. Close to Asheville and the main highway out the driveway turning left, leads you through GORGEOUS mountain vistas, waterfalls, and a mountain top entrance to the Southern section of the Blue Ridge Parkway. I recommend this cabin beyond any I have stayed at in this area.

Cabin is in a beautiful location...great for hiking and watching nature!

Accommodations were as described, but need to be refurbished. Several things, such as the rocking chairs, the futon needs to be replaced. More seating is needed for the living room area.

Owner's Response: This review that was left in my address book is as follows: Candy, Our family has really enjoyed our visit to Candyland. My grandsons have hiked this mountain at least once per day! Your cabin is in such a perfect location for visiting Asheville, Maggie Valley, Brevard, Biltmore- so much to do in any direction. great place for us to have our family Thanksgiving together. The futon does not need to be replaced, but can be tricky if you do not know how to open it. I was not informed of this the week my guests were here. There was a broken cane antique chair, which happened during there stay. After I informed them of this, than I had a negative review.

weekend at Candyland Lodge

  • 4 of 5

Our family was in town for a wedding. The house provided a welcome respite during our stay. Grandkids really enjoyed the theatre room. Adults liked the big porches, the open kitchen, and the variety of rooms to spread out in. Hot tub was great, too. Thanks, Candy for making our stay easy and comfortable.

Awesome Time at Candyland

  • 5 of 5

We had six adults and three children ages 9-11. We all were very comfortable. The home was quiet and peaceful. The porches are the main attraction and I am really missing my morning coffee on the upper porch with 65 degrees and low humidity in July. I also miss the nightly cocktail hour on the porch. The hot tub was inviting after a day of mountain biking at Dupont State Forest. The location is Practically in Pisgah National Forest. It was about 5 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway and 15 minutes to Asheville. Hopefully we will be back again next year.

Great Cabin for our Large Group!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Candyland Cabin! We had 9 adults and the cabin had plenty of space. The proximity to Asheville was great! Nice view too. We had a great time hanging out by the fireplace and on the wrap-around porch. The theatre was a fun feature too. Candy was an excellent host and easy to work with. You can't find a cabin that accommodates that many people for the price. Overall, we were all pleased with our stay
