Great for Holidays! Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years: "The Cup & Saucer House" is the perfect place to gather for holidays and vacations with family and friends.
Our family stayed in this very special home for a week in May, and we were delighted with every aspect of our visit. While surrounded by lovely furnishings and artwork, we all felt very much at home and comfortable. This home offers spacious rooms with privacy for all, as well as cozy spaces where we gathered to laugh and play games. We had everything we needed for our lobster dinner and spent great times gathered at the kitchen table for breakfast. It is conveniently located a short walk from town and the beaches. We especially enjoyed walking along the coastline and in the neighborhood where this historic house is one of many. Our stay in Kennebunkport was a treat and one that will be long remembered.
This is a beautiful historic home updated with all modern amenities. The owners have outfitted it with everything you need to enjoy your stay in Kennebunkport. The furnishings are lovely and very comfortable. We enjoyed lounging on the sun porch in the morning with coffee and afternoon with wine. It's a short walk to Kennebunkport for shopping and ice cream and a short walk to watch the sunset at the beach.
For the last 15 years, a group of 10 women have been gathering in Maine for our annual girls weekend. This year we stayed at Katie's house in Kennebunkport and could not have been more pleased. The house is lovely-just as pictured. It is very well appointed and well maintained. Plenty of room for a large group to cook, enjoy meals around the round table in the kitchen or in the large dining room, or just relax in one of several living spaces. And with 5 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms everyone was more than comfortable. The location is ideal. You can head out the door for a nice long walk along the ocean, stroll through surrounding neighborhoods, or walk into town to shop or check out the restaurants. Thank you Katie for sharing your home. We hope to see you next year!
We stayed here in August of 2015 and were thrilled with the experience. The house is almost like a Kennebunkport museum with amazing original art and furniture that exudes charm and comfort. It's also a five minute walk to the heart of town and so we loved walking in for food, ice cream, morning paper, and just to take a stroll with our daughter. The house is also huge and at one point comfortably slept 9 adults and 3 children and could have slept up to 11 adults and 2 small children easily. We would stay here again for sure.
This was our second stay at this wonderful home and our second family reunion in two years. The location and amenities are outstanding and Katie was very helpful and eager to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend this vacation home.
Knowing what we'd be getting, we came back to this house and Kennebunkport for a second stay (see 2009 review by "Dandy Time"). Our family party of 12 -- including six adults and six children -- could not have been more pleased (again) with the accommodations this beautiful place provides. We essentially duplicated our trip of six years ago because the adults had had such a wonderful time before.
In my research on accommodations in the Kennebunkport area, I had found this one to be unique in its combination of convenient location, comfort, and amenities. With ample living areas inside and out, four king beds and twins, and sufficient modern, well-equipped bathrooms, the property is suitable for a large family-type gathering while affording privacy when desired. It's well-equipped with bikes, beach chairs and towels; simply put, our every need was provided for.
The location is an easy walk (3-4 blocks) from the waterfront and downtown. Colony Beach is within walking distance, while others (Kennebunkport and Mothers Beaches) are an easy drive away.
The owner graciously offered suggestions (and with our family they proved to be accurate and valuable) in the form of a her self-made written guide concerning activities, restaurants, and grocery and other stores. To a person we felt her interest in making our vacation to Kennebunkport a memorable one.
Kennebunkport: Maine's coast at its finest! Quintessential New England village with charming historic houses, a gorgeous walk along the rocky Atlantic coast, and wonderful sandy beaches. Outstanding antiquing from elegant shops to flea markets. Fabulous restaurants to suit every palate and price range. Attractions: Walker's Point, home to George and Barbara Bush; the Nott House, an historic sea captain's home; Dock Square shops and restaurants; lobster boats and a lighthouse. Carriage rides, bicycling, sailing and sightseeing cruises, and in winter, sleigh rides. A perfect get away every season that truly lives up to Maine's promise of 'life the way it should be. Easy day trips to Boston, Portland and Portsmouth.
