A Magical Wedding Venue in an Historical Setting
With a beautiful side yard to welcome our guest surrounded
by glorious floral arrangements to the pluperfectly pitched
elaborate tent in the back yard lit up created a magical evening
for our guests.
The Cup and Saucer home was spacious, warm, every attention
to detail was paid and provided everything one possibly needed.
We spread out in the family room and two living rooms as well as
using the upstairs family room in the evening. The large kitchen
with a large round table was the gathering spot to plan our day.
Afternoons were enjoyed in the sunlit room overlooking the beautiful
expansive rear yard.
I can't imagine a better spot to have a family reunion, a retreat, a girls'
weekend or of course a wedding venue.
The owners couldn't have been more helpful and available when needed.
We are thrilled that our warm and spacious home with
expansive sideyard and backyard provided the ambience
to create their magical wedding. Their set up in the side
and back yards was Martha Stewart Magazine material
that displays the best of of this historical Kennebunkport
home. We welcome more family reunions, girls' retreats,
corporate retreats or wedding parties in our lovely home.
The Perfect Home for Relaxation
The Cup and Saucer home provided our much needed rest
and relaxation. We immediately headed for the back yard
and sat around the fire pit with our cocktails. We ordered
some lobsters from Port Lobster and headed up to the deck
afterwards where we dived into a huge two pounder already
cooked and cracked for us. Upon waking the next morning, we
decided to head into town over the bridge to HB Provisions to
grab the local weekly paper and plan our days in The Port and
its environs. Then we headed with our coffee to Kennebunk Beach
to watch all the beach activity before hitting all the shops in town.
Later in the day, we walked down the hill from our home and strolled
along Beach Avenue towards Walkers Point. We decided to hit the
Arundel Inn porch for the next day's cocktails and dinner.
We decided that part of our time would be spent visiting the area antique
shops before heading to Ogunquit for a hike. Another hike we planned
was to Rachel Carson's Wildlife Preserve and hitting Parsons Beach nearby
for a picnic.
We can already see that we will have to return to this peaceful haven as
there is so much to do.
Our guests certainly not only loved our home but took advantage of all of beaches,
restaurants & shops that Kennebunkport has to offer.
I look forward to our wonderful
A pristine historic home in a pristine setting
What a fun filled time our family experienced in this
lovely well appointed home. A lobster bake on the
deck with a freshly baked blueberry pie with the blueberries
we picked on a farm was our most favorite dinner our first
night. Our days were filled with trips to Mothers' Beach in
Kennebunk, Goose Rocks Beach and enjoying a cocktail at
The Tides and another at Earth. We spent a lot of time in
the Adrirondeck chairs in the backyard while our girls made
a swing to hang from the apple tree. We loved walking down
the hill from the house to the public park overlooking the water
and our walks into town for dinner at Hurricanes and an ice cream
up the hill. Our best view was from the porch of the Arundel Inn
Our family is already planning a return trip to this spacious and
comfortable home because there is so much left to experience
in the town and other areas close by.
Amazing historic home!
Thanks for letting us use your wonderful home Katie! Perfectly suited for our large group. Outdoor and indoor spaces were all beautiful and the house is within walking distance to everything you want to do in Kennebunkport. Will definitely return!
Historic Home with Modern Amenities
A beautiful historic house that feels like a home away from home. The house is well equipped for families, especially for young children. The cozy porch or deck off the the large kitchen are great for relaxing after a family dinner. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. A highlight for our group was the firepit with adirondack chairs in the backyard. A ten minute walk to downtown Kennebunkport was a daily event to get groceries or have lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants. There are many options within walking distance for catching a sunset/lobster cruise or whale watching/deep sea fishing. We have stayed in many vacation homes over the years, but 38 Maine Street was among the best.
Our wonderful guests took in all our warm and spacious home and all Kennebunkport
has to offer. Their description exemplifies why our home is perfect for a family gathering and relaxing around the kitchen table, in our sunlit room off the kitchen,
outside roasting marshmallows in our comfortable Adirondack chairs or relaxing
in the upstairs living room. We are thrilled that this appreciative group enjoyed their stay. We couldn't have asked for better guests.
It was fantastic!
The house and vacation was perfect. I would highly recommend .
