We found St. John 22 years ago and typically came once or twice a year until we finally took the plunge and built our home 5 years ago on this beautiful island. Along with us, our children fell in love with the island and now think of any excuse to try and get back to St John. On each trip, even after so many, we still find a 'new favorite' beach and snorkeling spot. We hope you'll enjoy and grow to love this special island and its residents as much as we have...and continue to return year after year.
The Owner purchased this villa in 2008
We decided to finally buy a villa on St John in the hopes that it would encourage us to visit more often...it worked!. Our attraction to this home was the spectacular view and open architecture. We liked that St John was a large enough island to provide a host of activities and still have a small manageable feel. Young and old can comfortably stroll through the town of Cruz Bay and not be overwhelmed...yet still find plenty of interesting galleries, shops and restaurants...from very casual & beachy to five star cuisine. Nine miles at the other end of the island is Coral Bay with its own 'time-has-stood-still' bohemian flavor and 1/2 dozen 'good eating' spots.
The feedback from our guests so far has revolved around 'the views', 'spectacular Sunsets', and the furnishings. The fully-equipped gym with new state-of-the art equipment get's rave reviews along with the beautiful pool with great Caribbean views & sunsets.
Wonderful home with all the bells and whistles. Spectacular views in perfect location.
We loved this villa from the moment we pulled through the gate and saw the gorgeous flowers and fountain. The villa is high on a mountainside with beautiful views of Cruz Bay below. It is beautifully furnished both inside and out. We enjoyed the outdoor living spaces as much as the indoor! We found it very clean and well-maintained, and although we encountered no problems, we were content knowing that there was a very capable property manager a phone call away. In fact, she met our group at the ferry and acquainted us with the property and the island.
The three master suites are very comfortable with their own attached bathrooms -- one has its own balcony as well. The fourth bed is a pull-out couch located on a loft (with its own bathroom) up a very steep spiral staircase. While it doesn't afford much privacy, we found the mattress on the pull out couch to be very comfortable. It would be difficult for young children or the elderly to navigate the steps to the fourth sleeping area. However, the plus side to this "bedroom" is that it has an incredible balcony with sweeping views of Cruz Bay!
The villa is furnished with so many amenities including beach bags, beach towels, and beach chairs. There is also a great selection of books, movies, and games. The community pool and clubhouse is located a decent walk from the villa, but is a very nice area. Because this villa is so high up on a mountain, it is not walkable to town or beaches. You will definitely need to rent a vehicle -- preferably a Jeep to navigate the mountainous roads.
You absolutely will not be disappointed with this incredible property. We stayed at the Westin last year, but liked this FAR better!! Thank you for allowing us to rent it and maintaining it so well!
Thanks for a great stay and a great vacation! My wife and I stayed on St. John a number of year ago, and we stayed at a cottage in coral bay. We loved it the first time, but really had a blast this time around -- this location was more convenient to the main beaches as well as to the town. On this trip we came with our 17 month old daughter and both sets of grandparents as well as uncle and aunt for a family vacation. We were coming on separate flights at different days, and the villa manager, Bobi, met us all at the Cruz Bay ferry dock and helped set us up at the villa, which made things super smooth and easy when first arriving -- the villa is beautiful and well maintained, and easily accommodated our large group as there is a master bedroom in the main part of the house and two large additional bedrooms in a separate part of the property (the main part of the house and the additional guest bedrooms both adjoin a common outside eating area that has a beautiful view of sunsets over Cruz Bay) and a sleeper bed in an upstairs den/bedroom area in the main part of the house. There is a great open kitchen that has everything you would need to cook, as well as a grill in the outside eating area. The villa is just up the hill from downtown Cruz Bay, and no more than a 10-15 minute drive from the major beaches. The villa has a number of lawn chairs and kiddie beach toys that we made more than ample use of, and it was really the perfect island getaway for the middle of the east coast winter. I definitely recommend the smoothies at the Colombo's stand on Center Line road and Vie's Snack Shack on East End road (the fritters and fried chicken are well worth the trip out). Both the villa owner, Frank, and manager, Bobi, were very responsive to our needs and questions and easy to communicate with. Bobi lives on the island and knows everyone and is a wealth of helpful information and suggestions - thanks so much for a great trip!
We have stayed at many places on St. John and have a lot of experience with the island and the homes.
You can describe this villa as nothing short of outstanding! Our family (4 adults and 3 children) stayed here for spring break 2013. The layout of the villa is ingenious. The kitchen in in the center of the villa with two large eating areas, one inside and one outside on very large balcony overlooking Cruz Bay and St. Thomas. Two very nicely appointed guest rooms are off the outer balcony offering complete privacy as well as an escape from 'too much family togetherness." The master suite on the other side of the villa and the loft is a great escape for kids.
The views from the balcony's are outstanding as you would expect. The villa is very well appointed for you to eat in. Great gas grill if you want to barbecue or cook a great meal in the kitchen with all the items you would need for a large family.
This villa truly is 5 star and the owners are extremely helpful in coordinating if you are a first timer to St. John. Bobi (Villa Manager) will meet you at the ferry dock, bring you to the front door and show you the inner workings of the villa and make any suggestions for a wonderful time on St. John.
If you are thinking of renting a villa in Cruz Bay, this villa is one of the very best.
What an incredible stay on St John we had. One week in February wasn’t enough to do all that we wanted to do and see: swim, snorkel, hike, bird, dine and best of all sail.
We stayed in a luxurious residence above Cruz Bay in Sirenusa called “Sails and Sunsets:” marble floors, huge kitchen, dining and living room, a spectacular outdoor covered dining deck with grill. Privacy mixed with elegance. The detail the owners put into the interior design was both relaxed and solid.
The weather was perfect, the sunsets, spectacular, the water warm. The clubhouse on the property even had a gym so my husband could work out and a pool for me. We bought local fish at the market to grill and then dined at Zozo’s, Waterfront Bistro and High Tide for music and mohitos. Not far away at Caneel Bay we rented a 52 foot sailboat with Captain Pat, truly the highlight of our trip. Thanks “Sails and Sunset’s” for a spectacular vacation.
Our family of 6 stayed at this beautiful villa the week of March 27, 2011 and loved it. Everything about it is a 10. It is a beautifully appointed and maintained villa. Much better than staying in a 5 star resort.
Loved the 3 ring binder with recommendations for restaurants, beaches and things to do. We went deep sea fishing (awesome) and ate at SKinny Legs and the Fish Trap. Great recommendation to get food for the beach at Deli Grotto. Bobbie met us at Cruz Bay and was very helpful. We loved that the villa had beach bags, towels, chairs and toys that we could use to take to the beach. We also used the coolers to pack food and beverages. I used the workout room everyday and looked out at Cruz Bay while exercising. We very highly recommend this property and hope to go back in the near future.
Located in private gated quiet community of 11 villas.
