We are a family that enjoys our down time together which is evident in the details of the cabin. When we visit our cabin we rarely leave it.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2006
As we stood on the property we could hear the falls flow and this called to us. Plus it was halfway up the mountain, perfect location, out of the wind at top and above the meadows below for views. The views are as good in the front as in the back of the cabin. A win, win situation and just 4-5 minutes to Historic Downtown in Blue Ridge, all paved roads.
The bonus of the flowing falls with bench on the corner of the property as well as hiking on the mountain are a blessing for our cabin location. In the meadows as you drive a meandering road to the cabin are fields of horses and cows. Two fire pits on front and back yard. We filled in dirt around the yard so that one could walk around cabin and enjoy nature. We added and replaced trees that had to be cut. Plus, wildflowers!
Absolutely wonderful!!! The cabin was great. Beautiful decor and very comfortable. Rocking chairs share the great view! Hot tub is wonderful. Kitchen was so nice.
Everything was perfect!!!!
Made this our favorite stay. And booked again for lengthy stay in January of next year!!!

Wow, the cabin was fabulous and had everything needed to make our vacation effortless. Love the swing. Close to downtown Blue Ridge all paved roads yet the cabin was on a mountain surrounded by nature. We booked the cabin again. Oh, thank you for the activity advise.
I booked a week long stay at Half Way Up to get some alone time to work on my picture book. My experience was amazing! The cabin is immaculate, with a well stocked kitchen and gorgeous porch complete with rocking chairs and a great view. There is even a waterfall down a little trail in the back yard! My stay was so refreshing and inspiring that I was able to get a large chuck of work done on my project. The peace and quiet was just what I needed. But when I wanted a little break, downtown Blue Ridge is only a quick car ride away. It was truly the perfect vacation and I can't wait to return next year!
I just spent 5 days in the halfway up cabin. It was the perfect mix of modern comfort and cozy country. The cabin itself is perfection! Waking up in the loft feels like waking up in an enchanted tree house. The cabin has everything you could need/want in a vacation rental plus its own personal waterfall. The town is adorable and only a short ride away. I came away refreshed and renewed! I can’t wait to go back and highly recommend this rental!
First of all the place is immaculate. 5 stars for the upkeep and cleanliness. HOWEVER, if there are renters either before you that have downloaded illegal movies over their internet, you will be blamed and your security deposit will be taken from you. Their internet company does periodic scans for pirated activity and send warning letters. The letters indicated 2 movies timestamped 12:48:09AM and 12:48:21 AM, both times when we were already asleep. That's 12 seconds in between 2 movies? I tried to explain to them that it's most likely what times the company ran their reports, not when they were downloaded. How can someone download 2 movies over the internet in 21 seconds? Skip this property. There are plenty of other owners out there that do their due diligence before accusing someone of a violation and then charging them the entire security deposit. I have disputed this charge with my credit card. I have talked to Homeaway.com and they side with me. I am also filing a property complaint with Homeaway.com to ensure no other innocent travelers get ripped off.
This lovely cabin located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia has everything and then some! We stayed the wknd prior to Tgiving through the Saturday following. The kitchen was very well-stocked w/all the pots/pans, dishes, etc. for our family of six to enjoy lots of great meal during our week there. You don't need to bring a thing - really. Wake up to peaceful views and enjoy a morning cup of coffee in one of five rocking chairs on the back porch. The beds were more than comfortable (I don't think I moved all night!). There is a fun famiy room in the basement and a full bath plus a bedroom w/twin trundle bed, flat screen, pool table, ping-pong, game/poker table and the porch off the basement has the hot-tub. We had smores out back at the firepit, grilled burgers for dinner one day on the gas grill located in the pergola alongside the house, put not one but two puzzles together, watched movies, read, napped, talked, laughed, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A couple of us went shopping in the nearby town of Blue Ridge, a couple of us went horseback riding (info is in a handy 3-ring binger w/all kinds of local things to do, places to see, restaurants to try, etc.). We dined out a couple of times, but had most of our meals at the cabin and found the nearby Food Lion had everything we needed for our meals. I liked that this cabin was on a paved road (many cabins in the area are on dirt roads). The driveway is gravel, but the roads to the cabin are paved (nice!). It would be difficult for anyone w/mobility issue to get into the cabin as the front stairs are steep stone. The master bedroom (a king bed) is on the main level, but the loft bedroom (queen bed) has stairs as does the basement bedroom. There are three full baths and a half-bath (one full on each floor + half bath on main). The decor is lovely and very comfortable. The basement has a wet bar and under-counter fridge to keep drinks/snacks close by plus a coffee maker. The main kitchen also has wine fridge in addition to the full sized fridge. The loft bathroom was ample for my husband an me (we let the grandparents take the master on the main level) as it had a shower, closet and a good-sized vanity (one sink). The master bath was lush (2-sinks, garden tub, plenty of room). The owner was easy to work with and very kind to have left little touches of Thanksgiving decor for us to enjoy, too. This is a very lovely place to stay and I'd recommend it to anyone considering it.
Other Activities: Tubing, whitewater rafting, jet skiing, boating, resort spa are minutes away
