The idyllic holiday house has a floor area of 220 sq.m and is situated in a green meadow, not far from the town centre. Its spacious, well-lit garage has space for winter sport vehicles or bikes. The entry is situated under the loggia. There is a bench for relaxing. The door opens on the ground floor, which contains a wardrobe, bathroom with shower, fitted kitchen with a dishwasher, reading room, and a greenhouse in front with a fireplace and access to the southwest-facing terrace. While the greenhouse is furnished with comfortable armchairs and leather rugs, the reading room is elegant, with its polished furniture and a turquoise-blue wall. The shelves have plenty of reading material for all tastes. An arch leads into the living room from the library. The lovely wood furnishings from floor to ceiling are made in the typical Allgäu style, with bright oak boards crafted by a well-known interior designer. There is an Allgäu bench around the circular oven with dining furniture and a wood-covered wall. Antiquities and a modern chair set round out the living room and complement the wall-mounted swinging TV. This ensured a lovely view of the living room from the dining area. In the well-lit upper floor, there are 3 large double bedrooms with wall closets, a second TV, a red bedroom for small children, and 2 bathrooms, one of which also has a bathtub. 2 of the bedrooms also have access to the large, covered balcony, with an incredible view of Der Staufen and Hochgrat mountains. The loggia can be accessed from the other bedroom, which also has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. In the basement, there is a fourth bedroom, as well as a play room and a party room. There is also a spacious sauna area with a wash table, toilet, shower, and a relaxing area. The garden hot tub is heated year-round, perfect for a relaxing sauna experience. There is a washing machine, dryer, iron, and ironing board. A garden house, with a well-lit garden pond, with water flowing over an old millstone, while the romantic sounds of a brook serenade from beneath the garden. The house was recently bought, renovated, and furnished. The bathrooms are completely modern, and have either rainfall showers or larger complete showers. The house is so large that there are plenty of spaces for reading or cuddling. The house and property are a paradise for children, with plenty of space to play. There is a travel cot, high chair, and baby dishes available for small children. There are also picture books and toys. There are also plenty of games for grown-ups as well, and plenty of reading material. If the weather is uncooperative, you can curl up with a good book on the covered balcony or in the loggia by the upper bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The closed-off and well-lit garden is 950 sq., and offers plenty of space for relaxing and playing. The heated hot tub is heated year round and is perfect for relaxing (until 10 PM), even when there's deep snow. Large children can play by the lively brook the lies below the property. The path down is kept from small children by a large garden gate, due to the danger from high water. Adults are responsible for ensuring that it is kept shut. There are plenty of options in the surroundings, meaning that adults and children can have a fun vacation. The Aquaria water park is also free to use with the Oberstaufen Plus Card, as well as the cable car and the Hündle summer toboggans. The Alpsee Lake is just a few minutes' bike away, and boasts all kinds of water sports. The Alpsee mountain range has an amusement park and Germany's longest Rodelbahn, or summer toboggans. Hiking through the well-managed Alps, through lovely natural areas on steep trails in the mountains or valley paths is lots of fun, even for kids. Cross-country skiers will be just a few metres from one of the many trails that Oberstufen has to offer, which come in all difficulty levels and elevations, and some of which are also lit. Alpine skiers will be close to blue, red, and black-level slopes in several resorts that can be easily be reached with the town buses. The buses, lifts, and trails, are also free for our guests! Skating rinks and museums in town are also free. A paradise for dogs: all dogs feel great here, from Pekingese to Mastiffs. There is plenty of space on the closed-off property for them to run around. We have a boxer ourselves, so we know how hard it is to find a nice holiday home where dogs are welcome. We were always annoyed by the additional feed that we had to pay to bring out dog along. So with us, dogs and cats stay free - limited quantity, and let us know ahead of time. We only ask that you don't use the garden as a dog bathroom, since kids play there. You can take your dog for a walk or a run right outside the house, with meadows and forests just a few steps away. The cable cars allow dogs as well, even mastiffs. Just ask in restaurants about their dog policies. Some hotels have a health license which does not allow them to admit any dogs, but these are an exception. Maintenance: If you would like the fridge to be stocked on arrival, leave a note when you reserve. Some of our neighbours run a produce market with home delivery. They'll provide anything you need: alpine cow's milk, butter, cheese, fruits, vegetables, deli meats, and wine.
We look for houses on the North Sea and Allgäu, which we then rebuild, renovate, and furnish. We furnish our houses as we ourselves would like to live, with plenty of comfort for our guests. There's no cookie-cutter design; every house has its own style. That means that we don't buy them at tourism standards, but rather think about what we can make them into. Whether they're falling apart, standard, or luxury homes when we found them, no house is like the next one.
Wackermann purchased this chateau / country house in 2012
In addition to the houses on the North Sea, we wanted to have one in the mountains, where we often come on our family trips. After a long search, we liked Oberstaufen best, because it offers both a lake and mountains. That means you can have water sports and hiking in the summer, and spend your winter skiing. Once we found this house, which is modern yet built in the traditional style, we were very happy.
Oberstaufen is an elegant spa resort, where traditions are strong: not just some tourist town! Whether it's raising the Maypole or the famous Viehscheid, the festivals are celebrated here. The Advent festivals of Bärbeles and Nikolaustag, with its Klausentreiben costumes, date back to before the time of Christ. Women with scary masks and men wearing fur reward children and swing a cowbell while shouting loudly at "evildoers". The Christmas markets in Immenstadt and Hindelang are perfect for enjoying the time before Christmas. Lovely shops and old inns, as well as pubs and bars can be found here. The town is also full of peace and quiet. There are several lovely old houses that tell their stories of the future and the past. Our house is right at home here. It has an exquisite wood panelling, comfortable old-style dining furniture around a round oven, and an elegant reading room. The conservatory offers peace and quiet in front of the fireplace. Your eyes will also sweep over the meadow. The balcony affords a view even further, towards the mountains of Staufen and Hochgrat. Full moon hikes (or cross-country skiing) can begin right from the house. There is also a part of the mountain that belongs to Alpe Mohr, where you can sing and celebrate.

You can enjoy wonderful cakes, prepared personally by the chef, on the terrace, overlooking Hündle, Staufen, and Hochgrat. Savoury treats are also available.
