This old Appenzell house with the original typical floor plan has been gently renovated in spring 2012 and still radiates the atmosphere of the "good old days". The plot includes 600m2

The decor is partially antique, partly in the cozy 'grandfather' style of the fifties.

In cool weather, the tiled stove can be heated in the parlor. An adjoining room serves as a playroom or bedroom for 1-2 persons.

The kitchen is simply furnished, but spacious. The dishes are washed here by hand. If you like, you can cook for a change on the wood stove.

Children can play in the rain. If you like reading, you will find enough old and modern literature for every taste. Also games are available.

The bedrooms are cozy in a rustic style, T. equipped with high antique beds. At night, you can hear the stream rushing and the fountain rippling, perhaps also the faint bobbling of cowbells.

Enjoy the sunny garden and the cows grazing around the house. You may also discover a few gray herons in the nearby stream.

If you arrive by train, you will reach the house in 15 minutes. The village is only a 10-minute walk away. On the nearby Demeter Biohof, you can enjoy daily fresh dairy products, eggs, vegetables and other.

A fast Internet (fiber optic) is of course available.

we've stayed in this house for a week and everything was perfect. The contact with the owner very easy, the views excel.lent, very quiet village..I would truly recommend it to anyone who's looking for peace and quiet.

Herrliche Appenzellertage

Das Haus ist wunderschön im idyllischem Gais gelegen. Wir waren dort zu 7 und wir hatten nie das Gefühl von Enge. Der Garten ist sehr einladend und dazu bestimmt "einen Gang herunterzuschalten".

Alles war sehr sauber und funktionierte einwandfrei. Der Kontakt mit der Vermieterin war stets korrekt.

Des vacances familiales riches en découvertes

"La petite maison dans les prés", c'est le nom que nos petits-enfants ont trouvé spontanément pour notre charmant domicile de vacances à Gais (qui en réalité n'est pas petit du tout...) où nous avons passé une semaine riche en découvertes. Tout près: piscine, promenades, jeux près du torrent et dans les prés autour de la maison au son des cloches de vaches etc. Et un peu plus

loin: les nombreuses ressources touristiques de l'Appenzell, une région attachante qui mérite d'être connue, idéale pour des vacances familiales: promenade à pieds nus (à partir de Gontenbad), visite du Musée des traditions locales d'Urnäsch (très recommandable) , randonnées vers des restaurants d'altitude avec terrain de jeux pour les enfants (Sommerberg, en partant directement de la maison ou Hoher Hirschberg en partant avec le train jusqu'à Sammelplatz) et en revenant à pieds, montée à l'Alp Sigl etc. Et quand le temps est un peu moins clément, les enfants s'amusent dans la vaste maison (les nôtres ont imaginé entre autres) une petite piece de théâtre avec les accessoires trouvés dans une grande malle tandis que le poêle en faience diffuse une bonne chaleur grace au bois disposé devant la maison... Bref, toutes les conditions étaient réunies, pour que toute la famille a passé d'excellentes vacances dans cette maison

erholsamer Urlaub in Appenzeller Haus mit Charme

In dem Haus haben wir wundervolle, erholsame Tage verbringen können; insbes. auch den Kindern (4;8;11) bot das im wesentlichen im ursprünglichen Zustand erhaltene Haus viel zum entdecken (nicht zuletzt die Kleiderkiste; ferner der Bach am Grundstück). Beim ausgiebigen Frühstück vor dem Haus war die grasende Kuhherde des benachbarten Biobauern für alle ein beliebtes Beobachtungsobjekt. Gais ist ein netter Ort und guter Ausgangspunkt zum Entdecken der Ostschweiz, insbes. zu empfehlen sind die vielfältigen Wandermöglichkeiten. Vom Kleinkind bis zur 80-jährigen Oma haben sich alle sehr wohl in dem Haus gefühlt. Personen über 1,85 m müssen im Haus gelegentlich den Kopf einziehen.

The old Appenzell house lies in green fields, in the middle of an agricultural zone just outside the typical village Gais with its historic town square, close to the village swimming pool. The village stream flows past nearby. Directly from the house hikes can be undertaken in the summer mountain, the Gäbris or to the Hirschberg. In 10 minutes by car or with the Appenzellerbahn you are in the town of Appenzell (museum, village square, shop street ...), in 15 minutes in St. Gallen with a beautiful baroque cathedral and historic center. Anyone interested in the production of cheese, this may follow in the show dairy in Stein. Mountain biking and hiking to the mountain lakes, alpine and peaks in the near Alpstein belong to the highlights of a holiday stay in the Appenzell region. The Säntis can be climbed from Wasserauen out in 4 hours. Thanks to various cable cars on the Ebenalp, the Kronberg, the Hohen Kasten and the Säntis and the less energetic can enjoy the view of the most beautiful peaks.
